Mind's Eye Prompt | HUGE Colored Pencil

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I share part two of the collaboration I did with Chrissy from Xrissart. I used colored pencils to create this Mind's Eye Prompt. This was by far the largest colored pencil piece that I have completed measuring in as 22 X 30 inches. It took around 40 hours to complete.
The prompt for this piece was: “Looking through your minds eye, you see an unrecognizable reflection in the stillness of the waterfall pool surrounded by flickers of hope. The night sky is reminiscent of northern lights with a hint of a sunset to the west.”
Please note that the discussion in the video may be sensitive to those struggling with depression, mental illness or addiction and viewer discretion is advised.
Please, if you suffer from any of these seek help. You are important, you are worthy, you are loved.

It's a beautiful piece with a lot of self reflection! It's so good that you can speak up depression because most people still feel the boogyman hanging over those subjects! Talking helps! If need a listening ear, I'm there!

Stunning piece Wendi. It spoke to a lot of us. I absolutely love how you rendered your vision. All I can add is - Hang on to peace and calm. Your 'eye' is spot on and I found it very very emotional. Don't stick this one in a corner, frame it. Well done!!!

Thanks so much this is of course a daily battle and this piece is definitely something I will cherish forever and will serve as a reminder that there is always hope. Just hold on during the hardest time because the light at the other end will always come given enough time, understanding and patience.

Wendi, what can I say? The artwork is beautiful (your art always is). I can say I totally get what you go through with your depression (as you know, I do too). And the song!! Went right to my heart. Thanks for sharing. Sharing not only your art, but bringing attention to depression. We all need to speak up about it and your words described it perfectly. Hugs, love and strength ❤️

Thanks so much Janice. That means a lot. It’s a difficult subject to discuss for sure and I think it definitely needs to be talked about more. Especially with everything going on right now it’s more important than ever.

This stream is the most profound thought provoking message in words and art I've seen by you or anyone in recent times. Your best as an artist IMHO expressing ones emotion in a piece. The irony that such beauty and brilliance is born out of suffering is not lost to the viewer of this art piece and in this case more insight given verbally by the artist. To me my friend,,,this piece not just speaks out to a person it speaks within a person. You have my respect .

Thank you so much. That means a lot. Yes some of the best art works are born from struggles. Not just visual art but written and music as well. So glad I was able to share all of this with the world and also bring awareness and possibly help others along the way. Art is healing art is powerful.
