Dimash has a unique range of 6 or 8 octaves. Diana's current working range is 3-4 octaves, but she can use them simultaneously when she feels it's appropriate. That's the core difference, imo.

The way Diana sang that aria wasn’t even fully in “opera style”; she said herself that it was a mixture of different styles as per the show’s direction. That said, there’s no reason she couldn’t learn to sing with operatic technique as Dimash often does, it seems like she’ll consider it in the future. My point is that right now, her vocal style is focused mainly on modern singing techniques, and Dimash combines modern and classical/operatic, which is why people refer to him as a “crossover artist”

@@hearingninja It's always interesting to talk about two phenomenal Ds.For the first time I hear Dimash is praised for his opera training. As a result-oriented (and not process-driven) person I'm not impressed with training itself. What impresses me in case of Dimash - is a bunch of complicated (non-operatic, btw) technics he uses on-point (like in "Sinful passion"). However your point is at least original. Some people say that the manner in which Diana hits the high notes and then performs the final part of her cover of "Can't help" shows that she really has a command of operatic technique (probably learned from her private lessons). Personally, I am not an expert in this matter, I mention this only to show a variety of opinions. For me it is much more important how the artist chooses his/her repertoire and what ideas/feelings he/she can add to previous renditions.

Diana is magical. Now listen to something original. She had a New Years Eve live duet that is very impressive. Diana was 18 here. She's 20 currently. You have a nice vid.
