Milwaukee Hardline 3" Knife Review

Ғылым және технология

Here are my thoughts on the 48-22-1994 Hardline 3" drop point blade pocket knife.
I reviewed its little brother with a little more detail here: • Milwaukee Hardline 2.5...
Thanks to Home Depot and Milwaukee for providing a sample in exchange for my honest feedback.

Great video. I'm pretty impressed with this knife as I bought the 3 inch one you have here in the video. I've always been a Benchmade guy through and through as I love high quality knives that will last a lifetime. The Milwaukee Hardline knives are a pretty good price and you get the D2 steel. Awesome knife that is really built to work.

I got the 2.5" version and I dunno if it was just screwed up tighter than normal but it's really impossible to close one-handed. Opening is fine but closing is kind of a chore. And it's not like I have soft hands or anything but after fiddling with for a while red indentations in my fingers.

My 2.5 is the exact same way. It’s a decent knife, but a pain to close like you said.

Hi, did you oil it right away? I just got mine and it doesn't open as well, I have to flick my wrist to open it completely. Thanks for the review :-)

It took a little while to break in. It should get easier to open with use.

after looking at this knife pretty closely and seeing how it feels when closing I'm pretty sure it's actually held closed with a magnet. Just another reason it won't accidentally come open on you

It's definitely a small ball detent, not a magnet. If you look closely, there's a hole in the blade that mates up with the ball detent on the inside of the locking mechanism when the blade is closed. It does hold it very securely though, so you're right there's pretty much no chance it will come open accidentally.

Can't figure out what the circular thing is on the back of the knife. Fell out once in my pocket then disappeared completely one day. Didn't seem to affect anything mechanically. It isn't threaded or anything. Strange.

The torx screw that connects it to the knife is threaded. I think it's to keep the frame lock from pinching you when you squeeze the knife handle with the blade locked open.

That’s a lock bar over travel stop.

It's the blocks the blade from going to far back when opening.
