*2nd Lt. Timpo was killed in battle in Romania during WWII. His remains, along with others were buried there and only identified in the last few years. How sad for his family. All those years. Thank you for your service.* ❤️🙏🇺🇲

We were raised RED WHITE and BLUE and ARMY GREEN and when dad passed , his military funeral was done in honer . I felt bad for them because it was so hot here that sweat just poured down their faces . There was so much dignity and grace . I thank all of our military .😢

Even though this is a very sad occasion, this is a beautiful ceremony for the service person and family and friends. It shows such respect and dignity for that individual. Thank you.

I weap at every military funeral. And secular funerals also. I make sure in my own mind that my tears are for the affected and not for myself. God bless.

I was a Funeral detail NCOIC. It was the toughest and most rewarding detail I’ve ever had. One time I had to present the flag to a 10 yr old boy who just lost his father. It broke my heart.

There's a place in heaven for guys.... thanks for protecting us

The Old Guard does a fantastic job giving final respects to the fallen and their loved ones. I was a driver and drove to over 30 cemetery’s in the region. These casket teams are great at what they do. Crisp professional soldiers giving the fallen the highest respect they deserve for wearing a military uniform for our nation. God bless everyone involved.

Thank you lt.Timpo. My dad was a WWII Pearl Harbor survivor. He died at 93 yo during the pandemic and had minimal of a service. We had to carry his casket ourselves.... Don't take a beautiful Service funeral for granted. EVERY soldier, everyone deserves a proper, respectful laying to rest. RIP soldier.

On July 20, 2022, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) identified the remains of Second Lieutenant Peter A. Timpo, missing from World War II. Second Lieutenant Timpo joined the U.S. Army Air Forces from Michigan and served with the 564th Bombardment Squadron, 389th Bombardment Group. On August 1, 1943, he was the bombardier aboard a B-24 Liberator nicknamed "Four Eyes" that took part in the air raid of oil refineries in Ploiesti, Romaina, known as Operation TIDAL WAVE. Four Eyes was shot down over Ploiesti, and 2LT Timpo was killed in the crash. His remains could not be identified following the incident. After a historical review, the DPAA concluded that the available historical evidence supported an association between an unknown set of remains recovered from Ploiesti and 2LT Timpo. The remains were disinterred from the Neuville American Cemetery and accessioned into the DPAA laboratory, where they were identified as those of 2LT Timpo.
