Whenever I hear this now, no matter where I am, no matter what I am doing, my eyes fill with tears and my thoughts turn again to the memory of my departed Queen. Queen Elizabeth, to me, was the essence of who we are as a nation , and upon the day of her death, we not only lost our beloved Queen, but, we lost a little of ourselves that we will never see again.

What saddens me is the possibility that this might be repeated a year or two from now. Pray for His Majesty to have a speedy recovery and a long reign.

One has to hand it to the British. They have the best ceremonies and pageantry in the world. HMTQ was absolutely regal, dutiful, compassionate and dedicated to God and her country. There will never be another like her. Many of us feel like we lost another mother. How privileged I was to be born when her reign began.

I served her In the Parachute Regiment for 28yrs, and it was a pleasure. To us, The Queen was simply, aptly named, The Boss. This tribute is so fitting for someone that served a nation for 70yrs.

I was born in 1952 when the old king died. I have a photo of my beloved dad holding me at an east London Street party for the queen's coronation the next year. A treasured possession. Elizabeth the second was not just the queen , she was our queen in all our hearts.

American here and just any mention of the UK. She came to mind first. She was and will always be the United Kingdom to me. She will be the Queen forever in my book. Say what you will. She was strong tough lady. She loved her country. She gave her life. No family is perfect. A grandmother she was and she held the family together. She was the glue that held a nation. Two weeks later and still utterly heartbroken. Her majesty was irreplaceable and it will take Britain a long time to get over losing her. Beautiful video I might add. A very appropriate hymn. Nobody could better be linked with the title 'I Vow to Thee my Country' more than our late Queen. We were privileged to have her. I live in America but am British. I cried for two weeks. I've never known anyone else but Queen Elizabeth as head of the RF. The coverage was superb and my husband and I were glued to the TV watching the coverage. It was so well planned and not a wrong step anywhere. The prescience pf George and Charolette was wonderful. So well behaved children what had to been a long day.

In a sense, she was queen of the whole world. Even outside Britain and the Commonwealth realms, she was known to many as simply "the queen," and if you said that, people knew immediately which queen you were talking about. I don't know if Charles will be known as "the king" to as many people, but it just goes to show you how widely admired the British royals are compared to all the other surviving royal and imperial families in the world.

Just remember that most of her recent ancestry is that of both Germany (specifically the Hanover and Saxe-Coburg & Gotha dynasties) as well as Danish (Christian IX of Denmark). Through the Hanovers you have the Stuart, Tudor, Lancaster, York, and Plantagenet ancestries, while through her mother (the Bowes-Lyon Family) you have the ancestry of Robert the Bruce, King of the Scots. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, because of Philip's Danish (also from Christian IX of Denmark) and Russian ancestry (from a granddaughter of Tsar Nicholas I) that they now have the ancestries of several dynastic lines, whether either from the original line or from cadet branches.

I agree HMTQ Elizabeth the Second wad class and grace personified. Noble is how she lived her life, in the real sense. But don’t be so pessimistic, women as noble and dignified as HM come every 80 years or so, same with men. Those who give up their life for a burden they had to take on. I am a Kenyan but on hearing the news of her majesty the Queen's passing I was at loss of words. I love this hymn. Listening to this song and watching to the events that took place on those days made me tear. It gives one the thought that the Queen had vowed to serve her country and and kept her word. She is an example who future leaders can emulate Britain and the Commonwealth are mourning the passing of a great mornach who kept her word by serving the British and the Commonwealth. Thank you for the video. God rest the Queen 🇬🇧. God save the King.

I am a Catalan, and I am moved to tears watching this video and when I think of the effort Elizabeth made to help all the countries of the Empire achieve independence, most in peace, and how she maintained her dignity in the face of all the idiotic tabloids... Long live Kenya, my friend!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ii will forever be honoured and remembered for her dignity, warmth, commitment to her country and fulfillment of her duties, deep faith and so many other attributes one can ascribe to this remarkable woman and monarch. Her Majesty was beloved by the British people, those in the commonwealth and by millions of others worldwide and rightly so. Her Majesty was a seamless thread of continuity of tradition, linking and uniting the British people and Commonwealth together for over seven decades from one century into the next. Was heading up Scotland to east kilbride in the lorry when I heard. This big Welsh man was in tears driving. She reminded me so much of my gran and what she stood up too and stood for. Was like loosing her all over again. Still can't believe she has gone. She was a constance through so many years. She went everywhere you did along as you as everyone had a penny in there pocket. One of the last to have gone through the second world war. God bless her.

I am Australian, and proud of our heritage within the Commonwealth. With the passing of our Queen, we have lost our people's matriarch. We now look to our King as the father of our nation. This was a most touching tribute.

Besides the official representatives from Australia, it warmed my heart that all holders of the VC were invited, and given primary seating within the Abbey. From the legendary Keith Payne to Ben Roberts-Smith, we thank you for honouring HMTQ.

I’m American, and I too love Her Majesty. She is sorely missed.

As an American, this still brings a tear to my eye - a Lady, a Queen, an Age - Dignity, Duty, Her Royal Majesty...never to be seen again...

She was a beautiful lady I'm sitting here in my bed in Canada crying my heart God knows how you'are all feeling a young girl that I promise she could save her country but she did and known no one can take it away from her rest in peace your majesty with your husband Prince Philip and God bless on your family here on Earth. 🙏🏻❤️🇨🇦🌹

@@barryjatkinson It's not wrong when their role is purely symbolic like it is in Britain. If we were talking about an absolute monarch, then that is wrong, but constitutional monarchies are entirely democratic except for the head of state.

@@hotwax9376 QE was not as removed from running the country as you might think. She approved/vetoed many bills before they even ended up in parliament… not symbolic at all but actively dipping into the running of the country.

This hymn epitomises her as much as Churchill. She did her duty as was expected of her. Long live the king.

Even as a "bloody Yank,", I have always admired the history, stoicism and traditions of the British military. What a great tribute to her late Majesty.

Can't believe it's a little over 18 month's since her passing 😢, the only constant in my life for many yrs 😢. I'll remember Her Majesty with deep regard and love R.I.P Elizabeth forever in our hearts 💞💞💞💞💞

What a beautiful tribute to such a wonderful Lady. I'm an American and I love the honor and dignity of the British people. I felt so much sorrow for Charles. The sadness showed in his face, saying good bye to him mom...I've been there and know what he's feeling.

That plane coming into land bringing our wonderful queen home sets me off in tears ever time 😢 how lucky we have been to have this special lady in our lives ( all my 70 years) there will never be such a wonderful lady like her again. Thank you your majesty you will be greatly missed 😢😢

The way the police escort bowed their heads after escorting her home was beautiful.

The love of a son never fades away, seeing King Charles' moist eyes made me tear up as well.

It was certainly the end of an era but Charles is doing well with the support of Camilla William and Katherine. Only the UK can do tradition and ceremony like we witnessed a year ago.

QE2 was the ultimate monarch. She showed class, grace, dedication dignity and grace in serving the country. God Save Queen❤️❤️❤️

I am Indonesian, and I adore her somuch and she'll be missed. The greatest woman God had anointed.

I am an American, born & raised in the United States, and Her Majesty's death still brings tears to my eyes. Farewell Queen Elizabeth.

This was so beautifully done. Many of us here in the states admired and respected the late Queen. She was the only Queen many of us knew. May her life and contributions to the Commonwealth be remembered with much love and affection. May her heir and family receive love and support, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.

@@lesgriffiths8523 in fact, when the colors were lowered when the gun carriage went past them, the first thing I thought of was the KZread video of Churchill's funeral when the cranes were lowered when his coffin went past.

Broke my heart. Not only because my Boss died but also, because of her family. I've lost Grandparents, Parents and guys I've served with. Nothing ever is good about losing a loved one. Her Majesty is still loved. God save the King, to whom I now owe allegiance.

I will never stop missing Queen Elizabeth.

The look of anguish and grief on Charles face at 4:15 was heart wrenching and sad. I’m not much of a fan of him or Camilla, but for that moment, I felt sympathy for him as a son who lost his mother. There is a human side to Charles and he showed that he has feelings and emotions like all of us.

He went through the loss of first his father, then his mother, in a little over a year. Having to put on a brave face publicly after the deaths of your parents has to be difficult.

Oh my God.. the first time I have cried.. My favourite hymn from school all those years ago.. lived in Canada since 1988. I am 61 now

I'm Brazilian, but I've always liked the British royal family. I remember the shock of the Queen Mother's death 20 years ago. The Queen Mother was almost 102 years old, but she was so strong, she was in good health, no one expected her to die soon. Now, his daughter Queen Elizabeth dies aged 96. It also took everyone by surprise even more. How lovely was this sweet queen. I thought she was going to live more than 100 years, but time and the unforeseen always happen. My condolences to the British people....

My dad passed the same year as the Queen in Christmas Eve 2022. This tune reminds me of him. I miss him so much 😢😢😢 take care of him Elizabeth xx

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t wish she was here - the finale of the crown did me in - seeing a young uniformed Elizabeth… well done, good and faithful servant of the people

I still can’t believe how gutted I was about this.

I’m 33 and I have so much respect for Her late Majesty. I was heartbroken when it was announced her family were by her side and I told my son on the 6 o’clock new they will announce she’s sadly passed, and come 6 o’clock they announced and I cried. It’s crazy how you can miss someone you never met. She was the embodiment of service. She served her country & her commonwealth until the day she died. She should never ever be forgotten. The armed forces made us so proud especially the young men who had the whole worlds eyes on them as they carried Her Majesty from Balmoral to her final resting place in Windsor Castle. Charles looked and still looks a broken man 😢

And she did all of it she was ill and probably knew she was dying and still forced herself out of her bed to ask liz truss to become prime minister 2 days before wouldn't let anyone else do it as she declared she would serve her country until she drew her last breath and she did and done it well and proud may you rest in peace your majesty 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
