Lyrics:
Let’s end this! “HARROW HARROW”
I can’t forgive the evil hurting the weak
It’s unforgivable, I won’t allow it, I sweared
How heavy “HARROW” “HARROW”
Is the damage to get in the way of someone’s dream
I’ll gouge you out with my fangs
Stained emotions, What is winning or losing
Feeding on food so I don’t burn out
Becoming light-headed again, it all becomes crazy
The normalcy sought for, Fading away, Everytime death comes
The soul moves forward
I hate all the evils in this world, I feel like I’m about to break
The surrounding net covered with poison
Let’s end this! “HARROW HARROW”
I can’t forgive the evil hurting the weak
It’s unforgivable, I won’t allow it, I sweared
How heavy “HARROW” “HARROW”
If it damaged someone’s dream to the points of stopping it
I’ll gouge you out with my fangs
I’ll teach you the pain you caused
It’s a tie after saying sorry? What are you hoping for?
Shall we replace the poor soul, and the miserable delusion
“I didn’t mean to offend”, “I won’t do it again”
How many wins in a row?
Whose fault is it, This is getting ridiculous
What should the punishment be
Want to find “HARROW HARROW”
I feel like I’m going crazy after straining my nerves
The person that can’t be saved, Is now understanding the abnormality
How heavy “HARROW” “HARROW”
If it damaged someone’s dream to the points of stopping it
I want gouge you out with my fangs
Newly born “HARROW HARROW”
It’s ok to dislike, right?
Losing it, losing it, What should I hope for
Goodnight “HARROW HARROW”
Laugh and I can get to like myself
Let’s end this! “HARROW HARROW”
I can’t forgive the evil hurting the weak
It’s unforgivable, I won’t allow it, I just can’t let it go
How heavy “HARROW” “HARROW”
If it damaged someone’s dream to the points of stopping it
I want gouge you out with my fangs
I want to be drowning in the knowledge that I am right

Has anyone noticed how the concept of saying sorry is recurrent in a lot of Milgram songs? Futa says people learn to apologise before they learn to speak. Then Mu says her sorry magic spells aren't working anymore. Amane mentions the people who punish her say sorry afterward. And now Kotoko's song with saying sorry won't let them off

i think thats even more interesting since we need to decide if theyre guilty or not , if we will forgive them or not . people apologize to gain forgiveness .

i would like to remind the milgram fandom that voting isn’t about whether they’re innocent or guilty, it’s about if you forgive them or not! you can forgive or not forgive them for any reason (and remember they’re all written in a way that makes them morally gray) and there isn’t really much canon information, it’s all mainly theories. while it’s okay to think your theory is plausible don’t go attacking other people for their theories since it’s still the first trial and we do not have much information other than our own theories! that and milgram doesn’t want us to attack others and remember the mvs come from their perspective! like for example, mu thinks she’s innocent and forgivable so her mv came from a perspective which showed her in a good light, and shidou thinks he’s guilty so his mv came from a very guilty perspective! just keep that in mind when you theorize.

this is what i LOVE about MILGRAM, the subjective POVs. But question: what do you think Undercover? I feel like it wasn't from Es' POV but a general one (not to mention, he doesn't even have memories), but then again...? (I just feel sometimes that Es could be the mastermind which is why I really need Es theories)

@Oi Josuke As for me, I believe(d) in going with what _should_ be right, because I feel our perception is twisted after the prisoner appeal to us. Which is why I wanted Amane to be voted guilty--so that she'd know her ideals are twisted (and wrong), and so that she could get some help, if MILGRAM had that system. But my expectations were completely thrown out in Shidou's BDay convo, when they said the guilty prisoners aren't doing well. So as of now... I'm actually confused as to how we should be voting. But Mikoto? That guy is a special case. He just seems TOO EASY to vote guilty. His MV legit proved that he knew about everything (since he shouldn't be able to lie). The DID theory was mentioned by Kotoko but I don't think we'll get the answer so easily. Therefore, I was kinda torn and hoping he'd get voted innocent somehow- ofc it didn't happen, so I guess we wait and watch. I also love talking about MILGRAM!! ^^

@Oi Josuke I'm glad you understand my method. ^^ I, too, don't like the situations they've been in tbh. All of it is so toxic. : Yeah, same here! Mikoto... well, he speaks to US, like the audience (especially that part before he punches us) so he pretty much knows it's an ACTUAL (?) reality show - how though? How much does he know? I'm not sure. But is Mikoto cheating the system (with being able to hurt Es and all)? YES. So I don't believe much in the MV either. I don't know what's a lie and what's not. And... does being voted guilty even affect Mikoto? I am a mess of theories and questions (not to brag but here's a theory I had written: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oKuksMOqhMebZM4.html&lc=UgxV10fAUE5FbVfu_B94AaABAg (summary: I don't think the innocent and guilty side are working together. Also, according to me, the seemingly innocent side is the true guilty, so I assume we're voting for him and I'm content with the current guilty verdict.) Well... tbh I felt Fuuta didn't deserve the guilty vote. Yes, his perception was off, but he himself wasn't like Amane (am I biased?). Of course we could say the same - vote Fuuta guilty to correct his ideals, but I just felt like Fuuta isn't... wrong. Just extreme, I would say. What do you think? ALSO I WOULD LOVE TO DISCUSS A HARUKA VS. MIKOTO even though I'm unclear if Haruka suicided or actually killed the dog... any theories? Really love talking to you!! Thanks for your points too and hope we can continue discussing more theories!!

After watching the MV, I think that Kotoko is using her vigilante justice as a way to make peace with who she is as a person. A lot of the imagery and some of the lyrics made me think that Kotoko doesn't like herself very much. She doesn't take care of herself, and she devotes herself entirely to this thing, in which she really wants to know that she's right. There's also the fact that she seems to be targeting people who are committing child abuse, so it's possible that she herself suffered in some way, which is why she feels so strongly about it. I also think the fact that her fangs only appear at the very end of the video could imply that this is her first kill. She's obviously risen to violence before, but it seems like this might have been a turning point for Kotoko in terms of what she's actually done. I think the thing we're being asked to judge in terms of guilt is just "what punishment does someone deserve?" Kotoko says death penalty and executes it. However, Kotoko is now on trial for her own crimes. It makes sense that Kotoko has gotten a lot of focus so far, because the question of her morality is the question for all of Milgram: can you forgive them? What punishment do they deserve? EDIT: After looking again with more sleep, I think that the final person who Kotoko kills is the person who hurt her. Lots of people have been saying that the girl with the shadow (3:03) is Kotoko when younger, and I agree. That would be consistent with Kotoko potentially only killing the last one, because she has a lot more fury towards him, and, as represented by the change in lyrics from "I'll gouge you out with my fangs" vs. "I want to gouge you out with my fangs." The only things that hold me back from this theory are the change in outfits from the outfit with the hat to the red hooded jacket (little red riding hood--innocence?) and the fact that the guy doesn't necessarily look like he's aged, even though Kotoko has.

OK. Wassup English Milgram, it's me. Let's cut straight to the case, Kotoko TOLD US and showed us that she was gonna punish bad people harshly, but she even shows us that she's willing to cut us off and replace us as well. First 30 seconds , we see that Kotoko isn't alone in her room. There's a wolf pack around her. She was taught and trained to hunt criminals as a part of her wolf pack and at 1:05 we see that she's not exactly in the lead. Indicative of her actions in the real world at some point, we can assume she solved crimes or was a detective. However, the pack thins out throughout the song as she pulls ahead of them. As things become more and more extrajudicial, she leaves behind her pack that was, at one point, keeping her stable. It's here where we lead up to our final kill at 3:01. We first need to recognize at 2:32 that she's way ahead of the pack and alone. Except for ONE wolf who's encouraging her again. When she starts running again, it's no coincidence that the scene around her becomes too hard to recognize and foggier. She's become obsessed and lost sight of why she's doing all this leg-work in the first place. The only other new insight: 3:15. Why is the wolf-pelt hanging off of her chair? Her companions are gone. Why? Cause she's brought them to justice and replaced them. Kotoko WILL replace ES as the prison warden if she has the chance, and for sure be as harsh as possible to current and future prisoners.

So when I vote, it is really ME forgiving/not forgiving her or is it my perception? Am I complicating it too much (I'm sorry; I have a tendency to overthink)?

After the voice lines that released with the drop of the Milgram second trial website today, my theories have changed quite a bit about this song. Before, the consensus was that she was a neutral good vigilante who did what was right for others, but now many are not so sure. From the beginning I was wondering if Kotoko was really killing bad guys for moral reasons, or if it was for personal satisfaction, and now that is almost confirmed. In the voice audios, while Es was sleeping, Kotoko beat up many of the guilty verdicts, including Mikoto, Futa, Amane, and nearly killed Mahiru if it weren't for Kazui stepping in. She then spoke to Es, claiming she should have been the prison guard instead, and that she had been "helping them out" while they were in forced sleep. Es seems caught off guard and she doubles down, basically saying she would have deemed more things as unforgiveable if she were in Es' place. Overall, I believe the voice segments drastically change Kotoko's character and now all we can do is wait for more clues as to who she really is. It feels like she is looking for any excuse to hurt others, and the one she has landed on is the idea of moral obligation.

I wanna point out that at 2:30 Kotoko seems pretty exhausted from all that running and fighting for justice until one of the wolves smirk at her [according to one comment's theory about how wolves represent how judgemental people are] so I’d rather say that something must’ve pushed her to the point where she cannot return from, pretty sure it's related with the flashbacks scattered in the MV. And I guess that’s when everything changed including Kotoko (she feels satisfied from killing whom she thought as guilty)

@@AliferousAngelsNah, Amane wasn't beaten up by Kotoko, as revealed in the post-Trial 1 video with Jackalope explaining Es what happened in which only Fuuta, Mahiru, and Mikoto were the ones physically attacked by her. It doesn't seem in character for a vigilante who killed a child kidnapper to beat up a child just because that child was deemed guilty once. Not to mention, Kotoko seems to have a pretty horrible childhood since in one of the translated official Milgram Twitter timeline posts where Amane asked Kotoko to teach her, Amane asked why she accepted Amane's request and didn't treat her like a child, to which Kotoko responded that she "likes ambitious people like Amane" and that back when she was Amane's age, she was already the person she is right now. Meaning, she had to grow up too early which made more sense of her aggressive actions to "protect the weak" since she might have not had anyone who protected her when she was weak in the past.

KOTOKO THEORY TIME Disclaimer: My only knowledge of Kotoko is through this MV, I haven't listened or read TLs of the voice drama yet so if I'm wrong, I apologize in advance. This MV is a bit more straightforward of what it presents of Kotoko. I think her schtick is that she is a vigilante, as a lot of people established. She snoops around and tries to find people who she perceives as "criminals", she also does a lot of research about their target as seen with the huge board pinned of information she has on her wall. However, there is something I haven't seen anyone comment about, which is that throughout the MV and most especially in 0:50 and 3:02, we see possibly glimpses of her past that are heavily rooted to why she acts this way. Trauma that she may have watched a loved one beaten up (to death, most likely) is surely enough fuel for someone to want to go after those villains she says. Actually if you squint, the guy's hair in the present and the flashback (3:02) is the same. I think what the MV shows is her actually trying to find the person who killed her loved one. The wolf could symbolize that she is on the hunt for something-*someone*. And in 2:24 she most likely finds the one she is looking for, and he is *still* doing crimes and trying to hurt others. Her pent up desires to hurt this person all explode to her in 2:43-when the wolf looks at her in the eye and it smirks and she returns it. Realizing she finally found what she's looking for-she finally runs after it and takes the kill. Tldr: She is a vigilante who is also hunting down the person who killed her loved one (Mother? Sister? Unclear). She finally finds him and she kills him-and she doesn't regret it. I forgive her.

Kotoko answered 20 questions (taken from her wiki): 1.) Just who are you? “Yuzuriha Kotoko. Someone who plans to fight for your sake. Well, that depends on you too, though.” 2.) Can you speak any other languages besides Japanese? “English. If it's just basic day-to-day conversation, then I can speak some Mandarin and Korean as well.” 3.) Can you forgive the other prisoners if they committed the same crime as you? “Of course. I believe what I did was the right thing, didn't I say that before?” 4.) When did you start learning martial arts? “In elementary school, perhaps. Without enough power, you can't enforce justice and do the right thing, can you?” 5.) How do you spend your time in the prison? “Training and meditation.” 6.) Who's the prisoner you have the most interest in? “It's hard to say. As of now, if it's about whose character I can't quite grasp, it'd be Kazui with his strong sense of intellectual curiosity.” 7.) What did you study at university? “For a while, I studied at the faculty of law. There's something I want to do, so I'm currently taking a break from studies, though.” 8.) Tell us your family structure. “Grandmother, father, mother, older brother.” 9.) Which prisoner do you think resembles you the most? “Hard to say. Their actions are always out of my scope of reasoning. Wouldn't the one most similar to me be Futa? Although at the same time, he's also the most different from me.” 10.) What do you think about the word 'feminimity'? “It's one of the means you can take. It's something you can freely choose depending on the scene, so it's not something to cling onto.” 11.) Do you have a lover? “I don't. But if necessary, I'll get one.” 12.) Do you have a quote you live by? “There is no other path which allows me to live my life, so I will walk this path.” 13.) Do you regret anything? “No.” 14.) Is there a prisoner you dislike? “Mikoto. He’s noisy and also a nuisance.” 15.) Which is more important, the goal or the means you take to achieve it? “The goal. Isn't that just obvious?” 16.) What do you think about extenuating circumstances? “I think it's a necessary way of thinking. I don't think that committing a crime in itself is evil, so it's only natural to judge while taking a person's situation into account.” 17.) Tell me what the merits are for teaming up with you. “I'll act according to your will. And I'll protect you from harm too. Have you forgotten about that time when you were on the verge of dying?” 18.) Have you ever been bullied in the past? “No. Are people who've had such pasts the only ones who're allowed to hate evil?” 19.) How much do you know about MILGRAM? “I don't know anything. Everything I say is just guesses and speculation. Isn't that true for you too?” 20.) What do you think is evil? “Oppressing innocent weaklings.” Hope this helps! There was another comment who had posted the questions, but only the first 10, so I decided to post all of them since the second half I feel like has more hints to Kotoko’s personality and story.

Hi~ just some quick things I noticed from the video. In the beginning when all the purple eyes are looking at the camera I think it shows that everyone is very judgemental, not just Kotoko. (Edit: near the end, her teeth turn purple, meaning she's gone from judging to attacking) In the choruses she sees the other wolves running towards something and feels forced to go with them (express her opinions) and the “gouge you with my fangs” part in the end goes from “I’ll” to “I want to” , I think it means she goes from starting threats to actually having violent intent. A lot of people think that each pair of prisoners have contrasting themes or motivations, so for this her contrast with Mikoto is how she’s not denying anything and is killing for the sake of others (I think she killed an abuser or kidnapper shown in the vid) so it’s probably something like “Because of me vs because of others” Lastly, I think Kotoko’s case is about the double standard that people have (?) cuz honestly, everyone has a sense of justice in them and everyone is very judge-y inside, it’s just that very few of them actually go as far as she does. So in the end, I feel like she sort of got pressured a bit too hard and just acted on her instincts (somewhat like a wolf). I think that sort of sums up what I think of the vid

I feel like Kotoko definitely has a black and white way of seeing things and like another commentator said, she doesn't seem to like herself a whole lot so she is also doing this to feel better about herself by "protecting" the "weak" while taking down the "evil" ones. This mindset is as harmful to her as it is to others, even if she may not realize or not care.

Harrow: An implement consisting of a heavy frame set with teeth or tines which is dragged over plowed land to break up clods, remove weeds, and cover seed. (Google's definition). Hallow: 1. honor as holy 2. Archaic: a saint or holy person ] Hollow: 1. having a hole or an empty space inside 2. without significance And according to Wiki: In the Shinto belief, the ōkami ("wolf") is regarded as a messenger of the kami spirits and also offers protection against crop raiders such as the wild boar and deer. (Whether Kotoko is religious or not, it doesn't really say). --- It's clear in the MV that Kotoko is looking for a specific type of people: child abusers. She does the "harrowing", seeing them as "weeds" who need to be rid of in society. While the children, they are the crops who are just growing and blooming into adults. On another note, it looks like Kotoko works out a lot too, she is seen wearing athletic outfits throughout the entire video. From that, we can conclude that she is trying to get stronger to protect the "weak". (And from Mikoto's audio, she was able to protect Es from getting hurt by him). Kotoko sees herself as a wolf, or in other words: a protector. Hallow meaning she is a saint/holy person, and a wolf, a protector of children. 1:26-1:53, she finds out where one abuser is hiding and beats him up. She doesn't kill him, saying "I'll teach you the pain you caused". She doesn't accept their apologies, even after they say "I didn't mean to offend," or "I won't do it again." 1:49, (if someone could translate the article, please do!) She hears about something that really gets on her nerves, wondering what the punishment will be. She ends up losing it, and the punishment ends up being death. This is her first kill. She smiles and seems to relish in it. Whether Kotoko was abused or not as a child is unclear, but I believe the possibility is more than likely. Having been neglected and abused as a child myself, this song REALLY spoke to my heart. She often sings about how many dreams must be damaged (0:14, 1:12, 2:07, 3:02) so perhaps she wanted to be someone else when she got older? She didn't want to become someone who had to fight the evil in the world; however, since she "sweared", (0:08, 1: 06,...) that is all she is doing. 0:30 - "Stained emotions. What is winning or losing" Kotoko probably has depression (she feels hollow inside). The only thing she feels is the thrill of beating up child abusers, and reading (0:54) "the surrounding net covered with poison". She clearly feels distressed about it, having to imagine the things she had already been through. 0:42, 2:02, she explains how she doesn't believe she is normal. All in all, Kotoko is a girl who is suffering from depression from abuse as a child. She feels "HOLLOW" inside. Her dreams have been shattered. She has nothing to believe in other than the swears she took upon herself to protect the children from evil. She finds herself becoming a beast, or a "HALLOW" for them. Who then happens to be "HARROWING" out the 'weeds' of society, believing what she is doing is right. [ And, if someone is able to translate 0:37-0:43, 1:26, 1:52, and 2:19 that would be great! :) ] Sorry if my analysis is outta order/chaotic. This was a fun song to go through.

This is definitely how I thought of it too! I really love how detailed this theory is, I too really want to know the translations for the news ,•__• I think she might just be targeting one person tho. She had multiple people on her board but when she found the first guy she only beat him up (she had no fangs yet) so I think she just got info from him. When she finds her target she kills him and gets her “fangs”. I heard this fang metaphor from another theory. I think yours makes a lot of sense, sorry if I’m just adding confusion or anything. I didn’t mean to invalidate your theory in anyway.

Thank you, ^^ And no, you're not confusing me or making it sound like you're invadlidating my theory! You have a good point that she could be targeting only one person since she ultimately killed one at the end because she got info from him. I just don't think that was the case because she says "losing it" (can't pinpoint where atm ^^" but somewhere near the end of the song), and she just happened to have a breaking point where she lost complete control. And to add, on the bullet board she had multiple faces of men... but not sure if she got info from them either. Not invalidating your theory, either. It's a good one! :)

I don't think she's only after child abusers. The newspapers are about scams, robberies (the guy at 1:30 robbed an old lady and pushed her causing her to break her hand) and one guy taking up-skirt-shots at a train station. The guy at the end is apparently guilty of killing 10 people in 2 years (a new record!) and the sign by the road is asking for information about a hit-and-run that happened there that he also was responsible for. I don't think she killed anyone until she got to that guy who to be fair, someone should murder if he hasn't gone to jail even though he must be one of the most efficient serial killers in history.

While Kotoko here doesn’t feel any regret or remorse from what she did as she is placed the last. A part of me feels that she's too perfect to be innocent. Again, the MVs and music are based on the prisoner's thoughts. So this MV might just be Kotoko painting herself in a positive light because she's completely convinced herself that she has done nothing wrong and that the scene at the end of her killing the girl's abuser is an illusion she created for herself. Forgiven or not, either way, she's best girl.

I mainly relied on the Twitter translation function but here’s Kotoko’s interview: Q1: After all who are you? A: Yuzuriha Kotoko. Someone who plans to fight for your safety. Well that's up to you too Q2: Can you speak any language other than Japanese? A: English. If it's just everyday basics, then I speak a little Mandarin and Korean too. Q3: Would you forgive other prisoners if they had committed the same crime as you? A: Of course. I believe what I did was the right thing, didn't I tell you this before? Q4: When did you start learning martial arts? A: In elementary school, maybe. Without enough power, you can't do justice and you can't do the right thing, can you? Q5: How do you spend your time in prison? A: Training and meditating Q6: Which prisoner are you most interested in? A: It's hard to say. Now, if it's about a character I can't quite understand, it would be Kazui with his strong sense of intellectual curiosity. Q7: What do you do in college? A: For a while I studied law. There's something I want to do so I took a break from studying. Q8: Tell us about your family structure A: grandma, dad, mom, big brother Q9: Which prisoner do you think is most like you? A: Hard to say. Your actions are always outside my scope of reasoning. Wouldn't the most similar to me be Fuuta? Even if at the same time he looks the most different from me. Q10: What do you think of the word "femininity"? A: It's one of the means you can take. It's something you can freely choose depending on the scene, so it's not something to cling to.

in the voice drama there is a really interesting words said by kotoko, when Es is talking about whether all of them are guilty or not kotoko said "your role is not only to judge their guilt, but also found out who is innocent". this actually says that she truly understand what is she doing and what will it caused. However she lost of the sense of how precious a life is, she dont think killing someone is a guilt, thats why she only focus on whether a person is guilty or not and excluding the action of killing since killing is just a tool.

If you notice, during some of the flashing scenes in the beginning, it shows the same maroon-haired guy at the end, as well as what I can only assume to be a younger Kotoko. My theory is that, the guy who Kotoko murdered in the end, is the same guy who kidnapped her at a younger age, since the maroon-haired guy had kidnapped another child-like victim. In the second flash near the end, you see a different girl (supposedly young Kotoko when she was kidnapped) all tied up. I assume that Kotoko feels like she, a survivor, must be the leader of her pack and be the "voice" of people who were kidnapped just like her. She kills the kidnapper who kidnapped her and the other young girl, with her goal being accomplished. I don't think she killed anyone other than the kidnapper because her main goal was to look for the kidnapper. You can see, near the bottom right of the corkboard, there is a circled face who you can slightly tell he has maroon-colored hair, resembling the guy at the end. She is checking the news and looking at recent crimes to see if she can spot out any similar actions of the guy she aims to kill. With the lyrics, "Let’s end this! “HARROW HARROW” / I can’t forgive the evil hurting the weak / It’s unforgivable, I won’t allow it, I sweared" perhaps meaning she sweared to take revenge? Harrow means something like despair, then meaning "lets end this "despair"", regarding her traumatic experience? Also! Must mention that Kotoko is the first of the prisoners who has a long-term intent to kill someone specific. She's been hunting this guy with full intent to kill them, and it's a specific person--compared to the other prisoners. I personally forgive Kotoko. She avenged her younger self and killed the kidnapper. Good on you, Kotoko! What do you guys think?

I saw someone commenting on futa's first trial that they couldn't understand why the fandom treated these two different when they're so similar. but I think are two very big differences. 1. intention. futa wasn't "helping" anyone out of a sense of justice, he was doing it because he wanted attention. he wanted to feel like a hero, so he was doing it moreso for himself than anyone else. kotoko DOES have a sense of justice. seeing a stranger suffering fills her with anger, as opposed to futa posting about a woman possibly getting assaulted for clout and then walking away. 2. remorse. when futa realizes what he's done, that he's alone, he immediately regrets it. whether this comes from a genuine sense of guilt or just pain over having his followers turn on him, who knows! but you can see in his face that he's scared and feels like shit. kotoko enjoyed it. she smiles over what she's done, she feels a sense of vindication. I definitely think she'd do it again.

TBH I think we're safe from her harming herself I think she much more likely to just resent es, and believe that they just don't understand her vision

Part of me questions if its all in her head. Like imagine the guy in the white hoodie is just a big brother taking his little sister to work with him, and then this psycho jumps from the shadows say "AH HA!" If it wasn't for that shot of the girl being tied up, along with all the other evidence like the news paper clippings, I'd consider it.
