Lyrics:
Don’t leave me alone, don’t leave me
Why was I born like this? Why does it hurt so much?
You never called me by my name
Instead you kept calling me “hopeless”
You were always comparing me to someone else
You were always generous, except towards me
I will definitely make you love me again
I wasn’t wrong, I wasn’t wrong
Please don’t say that I am a loser
Hug me again as you once did
Don’t leave me alone, don’t leave me
Why was I born like this? Why does it hurt so much?
I just wanted to be your good boy
Why am I crying again?
If with one click, and I can reset everything
Can I be your favorite this time?
I will definitely make you love me again
Don’t wipe me out, don’t wipe me out
I just want to be your good boy
I will keep on killing to be a good boy
I can’t stop, I can’t stop
Am I still INNOCENT?
Mommy, look, I’ve done great
“There there, my good boy!”
I promise to make my dreaMU come true
I wasn’t wrong, I wasn’t wrong
Please don’t say that I am a loser
Hug me again as you once did
Don’t leave me alone, don’t leave me
Why was I born to be me? Why does it hurt so much?
I wasn’t wrong, I wasn’t wrong
If with one click, and I can reset everything
I want to be your favorite next

i LOVE the animation in this video not sure if anyones said this before but i especially love the use of symbols of taxidermy and amber (i think that’s what the orange water is) which both essentially preserve organisms in a “young” state (edited - the yummy looking orange water is actually likely the taxidermy fluid formaldehyde which is around the same color, but it gets the same message across in the end) the shot in which the room fills up with orange as haruka is lying on the floor as a child upon being hit by his mom is symbolic of him being stuck in his youth in his mind and WOW this video changed my life

It’s probably a stretch, but I wonder if haruka will try and kill one of the other prisoners if they try and take muu’s attention like what happened with his mother

「痛みを数えて」 「Why dose it hurt so much?」 「次はあなたの当たりになれるかな」 「Can I be your favorite this time?」 「死にたくないよ 死にたくない」 「Don't wipe me out, don't wipe me out」 ハルカにとって両親から存在がないものとされることは死と同等だった。 「夢食(むく)われないように生きたほうが」 「I just want to be your good boy」 あなたの良い子になりたいだけ 「うばうことであたえられるほうが」 「I will keep on killing to be a good boy」 良い子になる為に殺し続ける この部分に至ってはもはや凄まじい。

It's kind of hard to defend Haruka after this, but god, I feel nothing but the utmost sympathy for him. Something about his backstory and the way his songs are composed just hits in the heart to me. That sequence with "Am I still innocent?" leading up to his mother finding what he'd done, only with him to be happy for any kind of attention... absolute chills.

@@dARKaZURE I don't think Haruka was neglected by his mother. I think his dad neglected him, but his mother still cares about him. The problem is that He started to grow up, but is in denial to grow. Since he wants to stay a child forever, his mother grown sick of his peter pan syndrome and started to show him "how she is supposed to be like". That's why he always says she compares him, it's because she compares Haruka to other people in his age. But Haruka gets extremely unstable when someone points out his wrong doing (Like we see in the pv when he kills his fishes) because he thinks he's a child (Probably he also has so much animals because her mother wanfed him to create responsability by caring about one. That's why he kills so many animals, because he denies to have responsability (It also can be bc of a trauma, maybe his first dog was hit by a car?)). Stressed by not knowing how to deal with Haruka anymore, his mother starts to ignore him. That's where the theory divides into two paths: - Haruka had a sister and he killed her because "his mother doesn't love him anymore" (His sister would be the little girl that is shown in both pvs); - Haruka had a child friend (Or he thought he had, it's highly implied in the first PV he never gets in touch with the girl until he kills her). He was friend with a little girl and then he killed her because she didn't gave him the attention he seeks. I don't know what to think about this pv, but the fans objective should be voting for him to grow up. I still have to analyse this PV to get a solid opinion tho, but ut's interesting to see that he is kinda of a spoiled brat and we just made him more spoiled by voting him inocent. Before it he believed he did something wrong, now he is singing "I did nothing wrong" like if he was denying his fault.

  • @wy7177

    @wy7177

    Жыл бұрын

@@pedrovitor5324 Some things to point out about your theory, Haruka says in his interrogation that his family only consists of his parents and himself, so the girl must have some sort of non-family relation with him. Another thing is that he distinctly says that he has never owned any pets which can be taken in to many different speculations. Haruka seems to have gotten a lot of attention and affection as a child which contrasts his state currently as being very submissive and in need of attention. He also often goes on about how if he could "restart" or "why he is like this" which infers that something happened out of his control between his childhood and now. The only inconsistency is the girl whom he "murdered". Though the relationship is unclear between them they seemed to used to get along with each other. Another thing to point out is that he struggles to deal with children as well, meaning that something must've happened with their relationship when they were young given what information is provided. I think a theory that fits in the best is that the girl is Haruka's sister, and after trying to seek attention from his mother, he must've come to the conclusion that his problems come from her, however, we would have to assume that Haruka doesn't think of the girl as his sister. I kinda dislike people who glaze over the surface of this project calling Haruka and Muu "attention seeking freaks" and "spoiled brats" given what they experienced because a lot of the things all of the prisoners have done are very grey and murky. For me, I think I'm going to have to abstain, because I don't approve of his constant desire for attention which drove the people he loved away from him and his methods of getting attention especially from the results for the first trial, but I don't want to deny his belief of wanting to live a life to be loved and given affection, something that he yearns for when he is neglected from his father and mother.

I noticed Haruka's developmental disability too. I don't know if the unforgiven verdict was the right decision. But also, it's very nice to see other people noticing that Haruka is obviously developmentally disabled. I don't know how it is in Japan, but people tend to ignore us developmentally disabled people in my country. If we don't act the same as "normal" people, we are treated as "others" or as adult children, no matter how old we are.

That's what they did with Futa, but if you look closely, Futa already knew he screwed up so making him guilty was only useless (Especially to forgive Kotoko behind who did something similar but worse thinking she was right, look at the result) Mahiru too, she clearly didn't deserve to be condemned like that, but since "she wasn't sure if what she did was wrong or not" people wanted to respond to her (And yet her boyfriend probably killed himself so even if it's partly because of her toxic behaviour, she might not have killed directly, and that boy could put a stop to it and take care of himself) We were mostly too focused on their behaviour and words to pay attention to what they were actually feeling and thinking And sometimes even their actions themselves The voting option is not meant to communicate with them Milgram doesn't care about the details of why they were voted guilty/innocent It's better to focus on how they will interpret it themselves, rather than trying to communicate anything in general Read between the lines, just because they say something doesn't mean they actually mean it Let's be careful this time, please

THIS!!! The whole system is based on judging anyway, not communicating or re-educating. Voting him guilty will just break him further. Because he isn't guilty for being abused or being born the way he already despises.

Yes, exactly I understand what people wanted to do and they had no bad intentions But things just don't work like that We were also extremely naive (I include myself, in retrospect I think I should have forgiven Mikoto and not Kotoko) Futa was aware of his mistake, even if he was hiding it by being aggressive in front of us He was just... "nervous"? He's the impulsive type, and it's hard to hear the reproaches of others when you're so angry at yourself and you know you're already in the wrong It was just a defence mechanism (with perhaps a little misplaced ego, I admit) Mikoto was threatening us to forgive him and insisting he did nothing wrong, which is why he was found guilty But some of the lyrics in his song also show that he was suffering and that his case was not so simple Kotoko seemed less sure of herself at the beginning and seemed to have a more serious reason than Futa, but she gradually fell morally convinced that she was in the right, and nobody noticed or thought of stopping her (There may be others, but these are the three most visible to me) Haruka here may seem to say he didn't do anything wrong, but looking closer he's still aware that what he's doing is not right (Even if the English translation hides it a bit) I hope this time people will see it and be more forgiving (or not if they don't care, but that would be a bit sad) This is what most people do every day with everyone else, reacting to the behaviour and words of others without seeking/succeeding in understanding the depth of their thoughts and feelings And we have proof before our eyes that this is a huge mistake A common and understandable mistake, but still a mistake I hope they don't make it for Haruka, or anyone else in this second round (sry I'm writing a lot)

Some facts we got about Haruka until now from his Interrogation/Q&A/talks with other prisoners, before 2nd MV: - he claims to be 17 but notes that he doesn't pay attention to his age. That might be the case but some suggest he lowers his age on purpose to be treated as a child for longer - his family consists of him and his parents; he thinks that he disappointed his father and scribbled over "my mother" writing when asked who would he like to see the most. Nonetheless, he loves both of his parents. - his most vivid memory is "fireworks" which also surround him in his 1st MV. - In First Trial, he claimed that he doesn't have any right to hate anybody. He also is most scared of someone betraying him. He doesn't like children and animals. - when asked about his "type" he answered "someone who would give me attention"; right now he fulfills this wish by being in a co-dependent toxic (friendship?) relationship with Mu, who also needs attention of others. It's worth noting that initially, Haruka's favorite prisoners were Yuno and Mahiru because of them being nice, but he also mentioned Mu talking to him more often even before their verdicts. - Forgiving him made him more social but also unlocked his desire to be dominated and developed his submissive tendencies which went as far as giggling and smiling when Es slapped him in the face. - he seems to agree to anything anyone suggest him "is right". In First Trial he was constantly blaming himself and saying he was in wrong but after Es forgave him his second song teaser included lines like "I wasn't wrong"

The 'type' answer is interesting. They were the possible people Haruka could latch on like what he did with Mu now. To make the long story short, we made him latch to Mu. When we voted Yuno innocent, her ideals are reaffirmed thus resulting to her socially withdrawing herself. With that social withdrawal, she limited her social interaction and dropping that 'nice' facade she had. Him latching on Mahiru is a bullet WE dodged. If he developed such complex towards her, it'll be a disaster. But not for her, perhaps for us? It is implied that he would harm whoever or whatever that takes his beloved's attention. It is widely known that Mahiru is oddly fond of Es (us), even now. Plus the girl is too affectionate, thus raising more flags for Haruka to be jealous. Thus reverting him back to his homicidal state. But since Mahiru was voted guilty and was preoccupied with her business with Kotoko... This didn't happen. Thus Mu came in, the third option. Their needs and wants aligned so much, it also was toxic to begin with. This is just a speculation.

@@zroshroud1275 Another person he could visit been latched to (tho less likely) is Fuuta. In the VD he mentions that Fuuta is a little scary but gives him attention so it’s fine. Maybe if Mahiru and Mu was voted guilty while Yuno and Fuuta innocent, they would’ve ended up being friends. Idk what would happen in the relationship, but it probably wouldn’t be good since Haruka would be dependent on him and Fuuta definitely is a more harsh which wouldn’t end well after a while imo. Like if Haruka misinterprets Fuuta’s harshness as him not liking Haruka then it might end up bad.

(This is cross-posted from my Tumblr.) I always thought it was weird how Haruka’s mother kinda has two faces in that doodle in the first MV, and the dog is kind of an amalgamation of at least two dogs. (There’s two ears pointed up, but also a floppy ear in front.) And now his shirt here is a combination of at least two shirts… The dog I believe is an amalgamation of the two taxidermy dogs we see here. Anyway, let me talk about all the water. There’s been theories that the murder/death has been by drowning, but with this MV I don’t think that was the case, with all the fish tanks. A misconception with fish is tank size, and that having a small tank without requirements like a filter and heater. Lots of people assume fish are easy to take care of, but they’re not. This room with no furnishings aside from a chair, along with a barred window that’s high up, is kinda like a fish tank…especially when we see it through the water. Haruka was given the bare minimum amount of support during his childhood. There’s also the cluttered room he walks through, which is like a fish tank that’s not properly cleaned. In the first MV, there’s all the scribbles and missing faces, which has been theorized to be because he doesn’t remember the murder. There’s the common saying that fish have memories that only last 30 seconds, so for the scribbled scenes it’s like he’s looking out from within a fish bowl, with everything distorted. Some people look at fish as decoration, which fits in with all the taxidermy. Something else to take into consideration is that fish can be a pet people buy spontaneously, and sometimes you’ll hear about couples having a kid to “save their marriage.” So maybe Haruka’s parents had him for that reason, but it didn’t work…since wasn’t there an interview question where he said his dad left? Haruka’s role is like a decorative fish, there to keep up appearances that his parents’ marriage was fine when it wasn’t. And like the dog from the first MV that’s combined from the two taxidermy dogs in this MV, Haruka’s shirt is patched together from at least two outfits, which adds to the idea that his role is to be a decoration like the taxidermy. I almost feel like he didn’t kill the taxidermy animals, and instead just sabotaged the display, like maybe the forest scene was him imagining the two dogs being alive as one. Also, if you look at when he’s in the woods, there are floorboards. Plus, while his hands are rainbow bloody as a kid, and then the rock is, too…there’s nothing on his hands when he’s aged up. As for the little girl, I’m torn between her being a childhood friend or his sister. (At one point I thought she could be his mother, since all kids go through a point where we think adults are still kids, right?) Starting to lean towards her being his little sister, maybe his parents tried to have another kid before his father left, or his mother remarried and it’s his step-sister. Going with the fish analogy, I know for a fact that when I was a kid, my mom and I didn’t know proper fish care, but after some negative experiences, we’ve learned better. So maybe Haruka thought he was being replaced, or they kept comparing him to her since she didn’t have the same issues he does.

I think that the girl may be a childhood sweetheart of Haruka, or a neighbour. After watching the first MV, I noticed that there was many drawings of Haruka with the girl in the frames having fun with each other, hanging out, afraid of their own tricks, laughing together... it does not seem that it is a sister, as he said, he is an only child, but a neighbour. I also need to point out that in the last frame of this PV, she is wearing the same clothes from when she was younger while Haruka strangles her, which may be of his own imagination (i.e she's wearing other clothes but she is growing and moving forward while he is not). The animals in the first MV also seems to be a repressed/modified memory from Haruka. He did not kill them but they are a symbolism to the taxidermy and seeking for a place beside the one he loves the most (his mother). The MV also shows that his mother gave him attention in public but not at home even when he was younger.

Just my two cents: I think Haruka does the same thing just like Mikoto did in the last MV. He breaks the fourth wall like a champ. "Can I be your favourite this time?" (1:38)/"I want to be your favourite next" (3:13) is him talking to us, knowing he's actually one of the fan-favourites. Maybe this is just me, but I honestly perceived Haruka as one of the most favourite prisoners due to his character traits. "If with one click, and I can reset everything" (3:09) is incredibly smart IMHO. This might be referring to us voting him "forgivable/innocent", allowing him to have a blank slate again. Remember how he was sorry for his actions the last time around? Now that we have forgiven him, we have given him the chance to start anew. And, if the Mu-theories are true, his restart might have been a rocky one due to her influence. "Am I still innocent" (2:20) (Or as another translation has stated: "Do you still think I can be forgiven?") Another break with the fourth wall. It kinda has the vibe of "Now that you have seen all of me, do you still regard me as innocent?" could also be him talking to his mother, though. And, lastly, "I promise to make my dreaMU come true" (2:16) -- a nice wordplay referring to Mu, as we all know. By the way, the Mu itself apparently means "dream" in Japanese. I think Mu really takes his submission and mommy issues to another level. And we are, too. He wants to be loved by his mother, by Mu, by us, no matter what it takes. Furthermore, to add to the 'yellow goo' theories: I think it really is formaldehyde. Not because his mother might be a taxidermist, but because it actually is capable of framing a dead thing like it's still alive, freezing time. I think it refers to his relationship with his mother which might have been nice and all (I mean, he asks to hug her like back in the good ol' days quite a lot) until *something* happened. Meaning, the relationship is dead and gone, but he makes it look like it's still alive in an artificial way. It also plays into this "I want to freeze time when everything was alright"-thing. Due to him mentioning that his mom is quite generous, I can see that his dad left out of several reasons (maybe the neurodivergent part is true and he's an ass who just left because he's an ableist) and she went on dates with several lovers, maybe giving them presents. She neglected her son while doing so. As he is acting up, she starts to hurt him (maybe even out of sheer helplessness, still not forgivable). And he's fine with it, as it means getting attention by his dear mother. I can see Haruka being terrified of losing her too, wanting to please her in any way possible. There's also the option that one of the guys that she's been seeing has a daughter and she turns into the favourite child, rendering him even more unnoticed devastated (see the comparison part 0:32). Maybe his mother even gave her the jewellery shown in the video (see the generous-discussion). He might've killed her due to that. Also, regarding the animal/dog thing in general, I can see the dog being a metaphor for loyalty/being good. This is also why he refers to himself as "a good boy". Hope I could add something to the discussion! Might not make sense, might also be poorly written, as my English SUUUUUCKS butts. 8) And autocorrect might have fucked a thing up or two.

From my first few watches, I think that this chronicles Haruka's descent into murder. Like we saw in the first MV, it starts off smaller with animals. In this one, rather than starting with the dog, it seems like it starts with the fish in the tank. He breaks the tank in a moment of frustration/desperation, and because their water/habitat is gone, the fish dry out and die. We then see it expand into more animals: butterflies, cats, dogs. Far more than we saw in the first video. The amber colored liquid seems to represent blood this time, and it grows more and more the more he kills. He stands atop his mountain of blood and bodies, along with some other objects, like a tree? I'm not entirely sure why those are there--maybe they're related to murder weapons? It seems the snap point where he kills another person is when his mom rejects him. She catches him in the act, maybe? She witnesses something about all the blood he's spilled, and she rejects him completely. He seems to be freaking out--the way he's moving, I think it's pretty safe to say that he's a little out of his mind--and then we see the moment where he strangles someone. From the hair/face shape, though, I don't think it's the mom. As best as I can tell, it's the little girl from the first video, the one we've been calling a friend. Why her, though...? I think Haruka is doing all of this as some sort of attention thing for sure. "I will keep on killing to be a good boy" and all. However, I'm not sure if the idea is that killing someone will make him more lovable somehow ("I will definitely make you love me again") or if it's more of what I'm currently leaning towards: that when all of this death happens around him, he's naturally upset ("why am I crying again") and his mother comforts him ("there there, my good boy!"), thus giving him attention. Either way, something's clearly very messed up in his head, and even though he's aware of it ("why was I born like this") he's still unwilling or unable to stop ("I can't stop, I can't stop"). For the verdict... I feel like it has to be guilty based on the events, but I feel like if we turn on him, he might lash out? If he really does kill to try to regain favor, and we gave him a favorable result and then turn on him... does that give him reason to start killing within Milgram to try to regain OUR favor? EDIT: after more review, I’m leaning innocent. I forgot at first that, in addition to characters potentially endangering others, they could endanger themselves. I’m worried enough about what Haruka’s mental state would become if we voted him guilty that I think innocent is the right way to go. EDIT 2: Just realized I never updated the youtube comment! After Haruka's audio drama, I'm all aboard the guilty train, and thankfully it's rolling that way! For anyone who didn't see, among other things, in Haruka's audio drama he directly says "I wasn't wrong to kill someone" or something like that and he says if we don't vote Mu innocent he'll commit suicide as a threat against us! Very cute. Not thrilled about that, but it definitely confirms he needs guilty this trial, to restrain him and to tell him that killing someone IS wrong. I'd previously interpreted the "I wasn't wrong" to be "I wasn't wrong [as a person]" and not "I wasn't wrong [to kill someone]", but uhh... guess not.

based from the first song, it looks more like he's killing to somehow get attention through pity. Perhaps there was an event that made his mother care for him when an injury or death happened close to him, which prompted Haruka to look back and use this event as a way to get attention while appearing as a weak and fragile child with tons of misfortune around him. But perhaps due to all the killing of animals he's been doing, his inner morals mentally assault him for his deeds; "Why does it hurt so much". This would probably cause a downward spiral of desire, hurt, confusion, then back to desire as his childlike mentality would not give him answers for his confusion. (Don't take this after-theory for granted, I'm still wrapping my head around this all and maybe I instead got confused instead of Haruka lol)

Update: The Voice Drama ist out now and I think I know, why some changes were made in the translation. If you want to know more, feel free to scroll down. I think it's important to notice that some serious changes have been made to the original lyrics in the translation. The most egregious in my opinion is this sentence: "I can’t stop, I can’t stop Am I still INNOCENT?" in the Original it is: これしかないの これしかない ぼくはどうしてゆるされたんだ "I don't have any other way than this, I don't have any other way than this Why have I been forgiven?" (or if it should be more in line with the english voting system) "Why have I been voted innocent?" It changes the meaning in a pretty serious way, in my opinion. I just wanted to translate some of the changed meanings, but honestly… almost every line is VASTLY different in the Japanese version, so here would be my take on a more accurate translation: "Don't toss me aside, I want to be by your side Why did I become the person I am? I am counting all the pain “You’re such a disappointment” seems like a favourite phrase of yours You won’t even call out to me by my name You compared me to other people You are always nice and kind to everyone, except me I have to make you turn back [and look at me] again I am not wrong, I am not wrong Don’t laugh at me and tell me that I’m a failure Hey, I wish to be hugged by you as you hugged me long ago Don't toss me aside, I want to be by your side Why did I have to become the person I am? I am counting all the pain I did not want to become a disappointment to you My tears, whose fault are those? If I could be reborn with the push of a button, I wonder if I could then be what you want me to be I have to make you turn back [and look at me] again (Honestly, this next sentence is a lot to unpack and I am not quite sure I can translate it 100% correctly but my interpretation is as follows) I don't want to die, I don't want to die Living a certain way, so that my dream wouldn’t be devoured is… Stealing so you can receive is… I don't have any other way than this, I don't have any other way than this Why have I been forgiven? Mama, please look. Look I’m amazing, right? “There, there, you’re such a good kid” The dream, far away, flying on big wings, I will make it come true, therefore... (The Kanjis from both Haruka an Muu are in this sentence (Haruka 遥/ Muu 夢羽)) I am not wrong, I am not wrong Don’t laugh at me and tell me that I’m a failure Hey, I wish to be hugged by you as you hugged me long ago Don't toss me aside, I want to be by your side Why did I become the person I am? I am counting all the pain I am not wrong, I am not wrong If I could be reborn with the push of a button, it would be nice if I could then be what you want me to be" I am not 100% sure on every line, especially the lines with the typical Deco*27 neologism of combining 夢食われない (normally 報われる/to be repaid; to be rewarded), which in this case reads more like “Dreams not to be devoured”, and the open-ended ほうが. ほうが is mostly used to show that one way of doing something is better than the other mostly with ほうがいい. Haruka seems to refrain from making this bold statement in the original lyrics, as he never outright says that it’s better, as ほうが can also be used to state that something is a worse option, he seems to hold that belief but is still not 100% sure. That’s why he says “I don't have any other way than this” right after. He knows it’s not quite right, but what other choice does he have? I think there is a lot more nuance in the original lyrics than the translation is able to convey. Haruka is way less determined and has a lot more wishes and hopes instead of demands. Maybe my translation can help shine a new light on this version of Haruka. Update 1: So I guess I kind of know now, why the translation differs so much. As most of the English fandom will never get to hear the voice drama, the translation alone needs to able to convey every information, that will be given to the Japanese fandom and in this case... and oh boy, does the voice drama have some information. Bascially, everything the english fandom was able to deduce from the translation gets confirmed in the voice drama. Haruka thinks he was forgiven for killing a little girl and while he thought it was wrong at first and was troubled by it, our forgiveness means it wasn't that big of a deal. He threatens to kill Es, by saying he kills things that are smaller than him, because they put Haruka into place. He thought of Es as his mother's stand-in, but as Es denies him more and more, he "realizes" MUU was his real mother all along. He threatens to kill Es, again, if Muu is voted guilty in her next trial. But because prisoners can't hurt the warden, as he is reminded by Es, Haruka threatens to kill himself instead, if Muu is voted guilty next time. I still think it's not okay to change the lyrics like that... but I guess it can't be helped, as the voice drama plays a PRETTY big role in his characterization this time, that most of the English fandom will simply miss out on, if it weren't for the changed translation.

yes!! as someone who can understand the original lyrics one of my big pet peeves with milgram is how much the meaning gets warped in the official english translation, which i think can really sway the english speaking fanbase’s perception of these characters. so thank you so much for making this more directly accurate translation so accessible, you did a great job with it!

@@franjamon1800 I mean, could be? But honestly, it would kind of make the whole voting system pretty meaningless. Having two sides with vastly different impressions of one character will only lead to a vote with a relatively useless outcome. If one side gets to see a ruthless killer, that would do anything for attention and the other sees a desperate person that's not really sure if all of this is right, there are going to be clear voting tendencies on both sides. Also, most translations up until now have been acceptable with only a few grave mistranslations, but none of those altered the overall perception of the original lyrics this much, like Haruka's song this time.

Okay but he’s def talking abt Muu at the end. In the second trial voice drama, Haruka said he is thankful abt Milgram because he met his real mom: Muu. So, when he says he wants to be his favorite, he talks about Muu. When he says if he could redo everything and be his favorite next, he talks about Muu. What a dangerous situation. Because Muu doesn’t know that this man can be rather dangerous.

Well done to the creators for another amazing job!

If anyone has seen the audio dramas, Haruka has a pretty strong fetish for getting hit, so I don't believe that Mu has had a bad influence on Haruka too much. Es hits Haruka in the audio drama, and he starts getting super happy and excited, and you also see it in this video. If anything, Mu has been quite the positivity for Haruka for being someone he can obsess over and also someone that can fulfill his desires. Is it a healthy relationship? If it is just a few minutes slave-queen dynamic where they grant each other's desires, then fine. If you say their whole slave-queen dynamic goes on 24/7 of their lives, then no (although Haruka's obsession is already the problem). Are we aware that their slave-queen dynamic is 24/7 or just an occasional occurrence? I don't know, but it is exactly because of that uncertainty that I see no reason to vote any of them guilty for that. The point of Milgram is to see if you can forgive them for their crimes and not what they are doing now. Then again, Jackalope did say to vote for whatever reason you want, even if it makes no sense, so.... Vote for whatever you guys want I guess, no one is stopping you.

My theory: Haruka was loved and praised as a child, but as he grew up, all of that attention left him. That's why he still acts very childish - so people will be more sympathetic to him, since his experience has taught him that people care about children more. That's why he desperately tries to hang on to his childhood - all of his good memories lie there. There are many references to taxidermy and preservation here. Butterflies are pinned and mounted on the wall. That way, they're meant to stay perfect and beautiful. People admire them. Another comment mentions amber preserving creatures in the exact state they were found. Water has a similar effect, slowing decay. But it's not enough, thus the water flooding the screen turns to amber. Haruka is desperately trying to slow the rate of his maturity, trying to stay like this, because he's terrified that no one will love him when he's grown up.

We know he thinks of his father as part of his family from the interrogation questions, but his dad never shows up in the MVs. I'm not sure where his father's disappearance would lie on the timeline. Probably before he kills his dog, but after the fireworks event.

The main animator for Haruka's first trial MV was Roduki (Relationship Scramble, Psychogram), with Akka directing and RL and peatmos assisting. If you look at the staff lists for both videos, there were far more people working on the second trial video, and Akka mentioned on Twitter that they better divided up the work for the second trial to make the process smoother. OTOIRO also did some hiring recently and seems to have expanded compared to two years ago. The artists all improved, but here it's more a case of having more hands to help make the load a lot lighter.

First watch and I think I have a real vague theory; his family (or just his mom) collected dead animals, like taxidermy and insects and the such. Haruka, in his stunted growth and craving for attention, may have taken to murdering a bunch of animals in some desperate attempt to make her proud, maybe thinking he was helping her with her collection despite the horrid things he was actually doing. It also explains why he killed the dog in the first MV, it was one part of a larger spree he was going on. I’m a little confused on the end, since the person he (or atleast I think it’s him) is choking doesn’t look like the mom (the hair is way darker) so I think it might be the little girl from the first MV? Maybe since the slaughter he went on got his mom’s attention, he thought maybe killing a person would be the next step to take? Overall I think I’m gonna have to wait for more stuff to come out but for now I’m still voting innocent; it’s clear he is incredibly mentally unstable and though that isn’t an excuse for his actions it’s clear he misunderstands a lot and maybe didn’t realize the severity of what he was doing. He needs therapy, not a guilty verdict. Edit: Okay, on a few rewatches, I think maybe the little girl with black hair in the first MV might’ve been his sister. Haruka makes multiple references to being compared to someone else and ‘favorites’ which wouldn’t apply if he was a single child. This also shows the younger boy from the first MV again, notably flashing between him and ‘present’ Haruka. I think it shows how it isn’t his younger brother but just a younger version of himself. The girl isn’t a crush, she’s his sister, and he killed her trying to become his mother’s favorite.

Idk how to express my thoughts very well but here we go: Haruka wants attention from his mother, even if its her repressing him, like in his first song when he says " you praised me by saying ' Your crazy' " So, seeing that killing was making her pay attention to him he continued " I'll keep killing to be your good boy" in the first song we can see a cycle in the chorus: " Ahaha please notice me" he kills, his mother repress him ( gives the attention he wants) " I was wrong. Yes, it was me" Haruka apologizes. (And the cycle continues) Tho, here he keeps saying the contrary " I wasn't wrong, I wasn't wrong" bcs that what he actually thinks. Haruka kept saying he was wrong in the first song just bcs he was saying that to his mother, and in the second song is he thinking to himself. When his mother slaps him ( gives him attention) for killing he smiles and thinks " I wasn't wrong" he says he isn't wrong bcs well, he isn't. Killing makes his mother pay attention to him ( and he got voted innocent) so why would he think he is wrong? Well, its all pretty obvious but I wanted to write down so I don't forget my thoughts lol ( I voted Haruka guilty bcs Im voting based on if they feel guilty and/or would kill again. And this bro thinks hes right and obviously would kill again💀) MY OPINION

I don't know if someone said it earlier, but I think it's pretty important detail so "間ちがいじゃない/ I wan't wrong" is not about he thinks he's doing/have done the right thing, not really 間ちがい in this part also can be translated as "mistake", what refers to his thoughts that he's not a MISTAKE, not a LOSER or some kind of hopeless child I saw some people interpreted that line as sign that Haruka doesn't feel guilty about his actions anymore, so in my opinion this translation can be really misleading :(

  • @Lolina

You're totally right. I didn't think of that one, got to influenced by the English translation it seems, but that line also has a double meaning. Especially with the "デキソコナイ" that follows it. The japnese lyrics just have so much nuance and give so much room for interpretation, it's so unfortunate the english fandom has to base their opinions on this mess of a translation.

Agreed that the translations and original lyrics are really different, and yes I've read the replies from Lolina's another comments. But imo it seems like it was intentional since the first trials' translations isn't like this so milgrammers can cooperate and interpret the lyrics even wider. Of course it might be misleading to people who only understand 1 language, but it feels like a metaphor of one-sided info or a put-up facade to me. People who aren't willing to acknowledge the other side (look up for more lyrics/translations) will never get to know.

@Mono LinnY i mean the english fandom misses out on so much stuff if it weren't for fan translations. The Milgram App Timeline, the Twitter question and most of all the interigations. So most of the English fandom votes based on the songs alone, while only a small margin of people hunts down all the info they can get. I for one really wished there were more official translations and that people didn't have to rely on fan translations to see the whole picture.

Haruka's second trial's verdict: *GUILTY* (54.97%) Haruka had answered 20 interrogation questions: Q1: Do you like yourself? A: I think i like my current self. Q2: What's your opinion on the prisoners? A: They're not my mom. Q3: Do you want to leave MILGRAM? A: I want to stay here forever. Q4: Tell us the origin of your name. A: It seems like she wanted a girl. She had already chosen this name. Q5: Do you think you will be forgiven this time as well? A: I think so. Guard-san said what i did wasn't wrong. Q6: What is a father to you? A: He's not that interested in me i guess. Q7: What would you do if you receive 1.000.000¥ and you must spend right now? A: I don't know. Guard-san, please do it in my stead. I'm giving them to you. Q8: Do you have any fun memories of your childhood? A: My childhood was fun, because my mom was nice. Q9: What do you think about Kotoko's attacks on the other prisoners? A: It's scary. But Guard-san thinks that those people were bad people, right? Q10: If you could turn back time, would you commit the same murder once again? A: I don't know. I think I wouldn't have done it if I were in MILGRAM. Q11: Are there any prisoners you can't deal with? A: I'm fine with Amane-chan now. I'm not scared of small children anymore. Q12: What do you want from the warden? A: Please forgive Muu-san. Q13: What is the difference between you and someone else? A: Everything. Every single thing is wrong. Q14: What do you do when you're bored? A: I always go to sleep. Q15: If you had one wish, what would you use it for? A: To be smart and strong. I want to become an interesting person. Q16: Which is more important, a person's personality or appearance? A: I think it's personality. Q17: How many years do you want to live? A: I've never thought about it, but I don't want to die. Q18: Which prisoner is the most like you? A: No one, because they're all great people. Q19: Would you forgive the other prisoners? A: Yes. I think everyone must have had their own circumstances Q20: Did you hate the person you killed? A: I wonder... I think I was jealous of them.

The fact that he feels he wouldn’t have committed the murder if he was in Milgram and that he wants to stay in the prison forever honestly melts my heart. He wants to be a good person, but he feels he can only do that if he’s in an environment where he feels like he belongs and won’t give in to his violent instincts. And right now, the only environment that suits that is prison. I don’t want him to be voted guilty or innocent. I want him to get rehabilitation of some kind.

my personal theory from this is that haruka killed his sibling/s because he used to be the favorite child, but his possible neurodivergency causes his mom to favor the others. he killed them so he could be the favorite once more. idk why but the bugs on the walls feel like family pictures, so haruka crushing the butterfly can showcase this.

I've had the sense that it's very literally that he killed animals before he killed people (siblings/mum). The first MV suggested he killed a dog by crushing its head with a rock. Also it ties into a lot of serial killer origins of cruelty to animals leading to killing people.

“I just want to be your good boy.” First of all, the song and animation is amazing as usual, I legit got goosebumps watching this. Second, wow. I wasn’t really expecting this compared to the first trial. It’s awesome and provides so much more information on Haruka’s character. To put it simply, his mom always compared him to someone, or something else. She didn’t make him feel loved growing up (It is implied that she used to love him more when he was younger), and as a result, he craved her affection to an extremely unhealthy level. Haruka’s solution for that is to kill , in this case the animals, because he believed that if there is nothing left for his mom to compared him to, then he would finally be her “only favorite.” He found himself unable to stop killing after that. Of course, his mom’s reaction was the total opposite and she used violence on him . It wasn’t clear what he did next, but I’m guessing that instead of animals, he might’ve moved on to kill someone. I love how the apologetic tone of the first trial changes to an unapologetic “I wasn’t wrong” due to the result of the voting last time. Curious to know the result of this trial! Please remember we’re voting whether to forgive him or not, not whether he is guilty, because everyone in milgram is guilty to some extent.

I wanted to note something that most people do not seem to notice but it is very much possible for Haruka to just be acting childish because his mother gave him attention only when he was a child. This is also proven by the fact that in one haruka’s 2nd trial voice trailers he spoke in a formal manner before quickly switching mid-sentence into a more childish way of speaking(I remember seeing it on twitter,i think)

I don't know why there isn't more people talking about this detail, but when i first saw it I couldn't not realize the amount of tropical fish and its symbolism. We now that Mu and Haruka have some kind of codependency right? And that Mu had said in her intervew that her hobby was taking care of tropical fish I because they were cute. I think this MV has a lot to do with how he views himself and how Mu views him. Just a little pet to look after. Still, Haruka doesn't mind, he even likes it! Whatever for the attention ig, but he knows it won't last long in his subconsciousness, it will bust sooner or later. And since they're both getting guilty.... We'll have to see how it ends :)

According to Jackalope, affirming ideas is what an innocent vote is. If so, then why did Haruka's idea of "Being wrong" change to the opposite? I'm debating what effects both an innocent and a guilty vote will do for Haruka's ideas and mental state. I love Haruka's character, almost like he's a son I never had that needs guidance, but which choice would really help him? Innocent votes aren't just white and guilty votes aren't just black here in Milgram.

I think from the beginning Haruka’s actual idea was “he was not wrong” and not “he was wrong”. For one if Haruka’s truly thought that what he did was wrong in season 1 then logically he shouldn’t he happy when we had agreed to that sentiment and now say that he wasn’t wrong that doesn’t make sense. Second in his voice drama Es had said that based on Haruka’s behavior he should have been the seventh person. Now Es doesn’t have any memories so he can’t be talking about Haruka’s being the seventh person with a similar personality in MILGRAM so it safe to say that Es probably meant that Haruka should have been the seventh person interrogated which means the being the seventh prisoner. At first this comment doesn’t mean much (since at first everyone thought the forgiven vote meant we have forgiven their sins) but there is a comment (I think on kotoko’s mv) that said the first trial order was based on how unforgivable the prisoners see themselves and with Haruka’s being number 1 he should see himself completely unforgivable. But if Haruka was supposed to be the seventh prisoner then his mindset would make sense. If Haruka’s was supposed to be prisoner 007 then that would mean his idea was actually more towards I wasn’t wrong than I was wrong. Anyway with Es comment in the voice drama to Haruka’s major personality change ( while we can attribute that the major change was because of Muu if Haruka truly thought he did wrong and many agree to it thanks to the vote then Haruka’s change shouldn’t have been so big. If anything he would just talk and listen to muu more and shut others out) I am now very doubtful on Haruka’s whole character ( is he really as remorseful as he is shown to be or was he just exaggerating it to gain more attention and sympathy) and wondering if Haruka just showed us half truths and withheld some info in his mv to make himself look more pitiful and weak to us. (Also I’m not saying that Haruka is some master manipulator or anything I just mean he was exaggerating things to a bigger proportion than they actually were like what a person does sometimes when telling a story to others to make themselves look cooler, sympathetic etc) And about Haruka’s vote I think now it would really matter on what is shown on the mv (hopefully it won’t be as vague as the last one otherwise I won’t have a clue anymore) But based on the thumbnail I am actually getting a bad feeling for Haruka this time. I won’t be surprised if milgram showed this fan favorite in a bad light this time and make us vote him unforgiven (After all they did say this trial was going to be hell) What do you think?

@@Lulu-iv7fr The voice drama thing where Es says Haruka should of been the seventh prisoner is more of a translation thing. It's more commonly taken as Es would of perfered to interogate Haruka seventh. Honestly I don't really think Mu had much of effect on Haruka's mindset of his crime. I way I see it this could go two ways. One, Haruka believes what he did wasn't wrong because his murder led him to Milgram, a safe space that accepted and validated him by viewing him as forgivable. It wasn't Mu that changed him, it was US. Two, AKAA could take place before Haruka could of had the mindset of what he was doing was wrong and he could see by the end of it him relieze what he did was wrong and end up at the same mindset that we find him at in Weakness. Just some thoughts tho
