Μr. Petropoulos, thank you so much for this video! I can’t stop crying for a week now! The world loved him and the Greeks in Greece but the Greeks of diaspora adored him! World music legend Mikis Theodorakis passed away at the age of 96. The maestro left a deep mark, he started playing music in his youth, and was educated at the Athens Conservatory in the class of Philoctitis Economidis, and later at the Conservatory in Paris. Theodorakis composed all genres of music, from opera, symphonic music, salon ballet, church choir, to ancient Greek drama, theater, cinema, folk music. Theodorakis gained world fame by making music for the films "Greek Zorba" (1964), "Z" (1969) and "Serpico" (1973). He is known as the "father of sirtaki". During the bombing of Yugoslavia, Mikis Teodorakis stood by our people, and his legendary speech at the rally in support of the crowded Syntagma Square in Athens in 1999 will be forever remembered. The composer left a mark in politics. He was in the resistance movement during World War II, fought with the Communists during the Civil War (1946-1949), was a dissident during the military junta, was an MP during the 1980s and a minister in the Conservative government in the early 1990s. Since the beginning of the Greek crisis in 2010, he has opposed austerity measures imposed on Athens by creditors from the EU and the International Monetary Fund. In February 2012, he was injured during a demonstration in Athens when he was hit by tear gas. A great opponent of the Prespan agreement between the so-called Rep. Macedonia (FYROM) and Greece, after which R. Macedonia changed its name, and the agreement itself is a precedent under international law! Great patriot and hellenic musician, composer,humanist and legend. REST IN PEACE

To Greek people and Greek authorities my sincere condolences for Mikis Theodorakis the biggest icon of present day who passed away but will eternally live in our hearts.
