Mike Tyson vs Lou Savarese - Full Fight - 6-24-2000
Bout Summary:
The first punch that Tyson landed was a left hand that dropped Savarese to the canvas. Savarese was able to get back up, but was met with a furious assault from Tyson. Referee John Coyle attempted to stop the fight at 26 seconds by getting in between the two, but Tyson continued to hammer away at Savarese, taking down Coyle in the process. The replay with "commentary" on the 1st "knockout" says it all.

This was definitely, one of those "Don't Blink" moments and I had to rewatch a few times to see what was happening too.

Mike knocked the white guy out with one punch to wake him up with the next punch only to knock him out again and wake him up again. hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣

The ref saved the guy from some serious injury in my opinion.

Wait when the referee counted with Lou after he got knocked down the first time, he didn't even count to 10 🤷🏾 Or did he? 🤷🏾

No, why would he? He took a 4 count and was "ready" to go again. It doesn't have to be a 10 count.

Lou savareese was a perinal top contenders hold some impressive victories on his resume, went the distance with big goerge foreman and knocked out Buster Douglas in the 1st round...Tyson dropped him with 1 grazing blow and the fight should have been stopped with that one punch he was clearly dazed! If Mike caught you clean you went to the shadow realm😂

I just learned that from Tysons Undisputed book. When he talks about the fights I watch them and it gives you a whole different perspective knowing his mind state and circumstances leading to each fight. All the stuff he did before the fight was much crazier. Dancing on top of cars, beating up the promoter for not paying the jewelry store and getting Tyson in trouble with them, and hanging with European gangster and fucking a Russian gold diggers that was the gf of some Chinese arms dealer lol. He smoked weed and snorted coke before the fight and used a fake penis and pump to beat his urine test. I love Tyson he’s the greatest and has become such a cool and wise elder now especially after having a crazy upbringing and career. Too bad he and others cut short his success in boxing especially the woman who falsely accused him of rape and his manager promoter and gold digging wife. He was basically a kid outside the ring with no guidance after his mentor, trainer, father Cus died. Sad but he got back on track eventually in life

The ref should have called the fight after the 1st knock down Lou was clearly rocked...its the reffs job the protect the fighter and he failed to do so...Tyson did go a little overboard..but I don't know if you have ever been to a bigtime prize fight before but I have...and let me tell you when the crowd is going crazy its hard to hear a small bell being rung...im gonna give Mike a pass on this one.

Honestly, Tyson should've been disqualified. I don't care how focused you are on your opponent, he literally had the ref directly between them and kept punching, knocking the ref down in the process. That's just not acceptable. And even that first knockdown was weird. It almost looked like a glancing blow, it didn't cause his head to turn quickly or anything, and yet literally just that one punch put down this guy who'd only been stopped one other time? Tyson's late career was a mockery.
