I love Tyson more than words can describe but I diisagree with him on this point. To simplify and debase all human interaction to merely value transactions where there is a buyer and a seller is absolutely false, in my opinion. I love Tyson though, as a boxer of course but more as a man who has evolved into one of the most open and caring people that I've ever witnessed. On a similar note, our society seems to have a problem with, in my opinion, what a young man ought to be. Mike's story is the perfect example of the pitfalls of masculinity of the 20th century and he perhaps provides an alternative to it for the 21st century. If I have a child, male or female, I will take them through Mike's story.

People are amazed at how deep Mike is but you shouldn't be. If you talk to Mike about boxing, he will take you so deep into that artform that you won't be able to figure your way. The man is a sponge and he can learn anything that he finds of interest. I can totally relate. I flunked the basic of basic math in high school and was the math tutor in college. Now how in the hell did I do that? Well, there was 13-years between my high school and college days and some time in the Marine Corps in between. When I actually gave some effort, math came extremely easy to me. Imagine that. I use to do body guard work for Mike when he came to the city that I worked for back in the 80's. This man had phenomenal knowledge then but now? Life has taken his mind to another level. Don't underestimate this man. He has seriously matured and garnered enough knowledge to do anything he wants. Just hearing him now tells me volumes about the man I met then and the man he is now. I am happy for him. People don't realize how nice of a guy he truly is until you sit down and have an honest conversation with him.

We all know about and marvelled at MT "Prize fighting" abilities, and the controversial episodes in his life, but what makes him so/still compelling to this day is he's such a multifaceted, walking contradiction of a man!(imo).. There are times when he has demonstrated extreme intimidating behaviour, agressiveness and violence and so many others, where he comes a cross,as charming, witty, insightful and even erudite! But the "Iron Mike" I always recall is him showing)teaching a young man with "Downs Syndrome"how to punch on the "Heavy bag".he looked completely at home, training and helping out someone less fortunate than himself!👍
