I think one of the saddest things about Chester in his passing is the lyrical content of all of his material. It always seems that the most abused and depressed artists produce some of the best material. The most twisted and saddening content, lyrically and emotionally, that we can relate to or understand, is written or performed by equally suffering souls. I just wish we could have helped him.

It is encouraging to see how Mike has managed the loss. The candid manner in which he can freely discuss it after the fact. One could be tempted to think he hadn't been moved so much by it but that is an impossible thought. I take from this a means for me to try deal with future losses I'll have to get through. Mike has a stability that is admirable and I'm taking notes

Mike and Chester were close, they said at times they spent more time together than their spouses. I couldn't imagine how I would feel losing someone that close to me, and as a fan I was gutted when I heard about Chester. Mike was there for us fans, he did what he could to stay connected. Mike expressed his feeling, and I'm sure not all of them, in Post Traumatic, he was going through his grieving process while making sure we were OK. All admiration I had for Mike before grew a million times more after.
