Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
George Mayer is back with Mike Shani as the pair revisit Mike’s collection to look at the impressive watches he’s added to his watch box. Independent watchmakers on display are from greats of the past like Philippe Dufour’s Simplicity and George Daniels’s Millennium to the next generation such as Keaton Myrick and Rexhep Rexhepi with the Akrivia AK-06. Finally, the pair discuss what they consider the ultimate display of independent craftmanship: the Greubel Forsey Hand Made 1

These watches are like priceless works of art. The problem I have with them is I could never feel comfortable wearing them. I built a tiny watch museum in my home and I would simply have them on display, but definitely not wear them. They are all amazing and stunningly beautiful!
Wow. Great to see all of these grails on one tray. Well deserved Shani💪🏻😍
Incredible. What a collection. Not just built on hype
One of the best collections ever. Bravo, Mike.
I’m passionate about watches, esp. these independent makers, but this video drives home how over the top the industry has become.
Always a pleasure when Mike shares some of his many horological treasures. And so heartening to know that such a deep and important collection is owned by such a humble and approachable guy.
I come back often to this video to admire Mike Shane's collection. Next level.
Wow!! I'm speech less! What a collection!!! Congratulations Shani!! 💪🏻😍
That should tell you something about De'bethune. They make everything including the main spring.
Wow! What a collection and a gentleman! Shani is the best!
Crazy collection. Great content
Thank you, Sir for letting me watch and listen to you talking about these rare and outstanding watches. The only thing I could afford is the book "Watchmaking" by George Daniels, which I proudly own and read.
A Daniels and a Dufour in one collection. Hard to imagine where to go from there.
Even though my budget is certina and longines orient and seiko lol I still love this and dream to have even just 1 like fp journe
Now this was super interesting! The gentleman is a true collector, tired of "collectors" who have only the latest hype pieces they would flip in a heartbeat
GF is top level! Great collection love it
Great collection!
Mike needs more bracelets
really nice!
A George Daniels and Philippe Dufour in the same collection? This guy watches.
AkriviA, what a beautiful timepiece
Dufour's daughter will take over production after Philippe retires, so the brand will continue, hopefully.
Very special watches.
Guys from a scotsman very nice taste in the fine suites. Tartan
Curly from the Three Stooges is a watch collector!!!!❤❤❤❤
Fantastic collection! The legend
Great episode! George and Shani, two legends
Fantastic collection, thanks
17:19 get rid of all that junk on your wrist. Your watches are too good to have them cluttered with whatever those are

It’s the other wrist, but agree with you 100% But to each his own 😢
Just waiting for Akrivia to release the AK47, then I’ll be all in
I’m a bit of a geek and would appreciate knowing the accuracy they can produce?

Most probably a few seconds per day.
Mike thank you for showing and talking through your watches, a stunning collection! Your passion shines through and I am sure you deserve them. I have a few nice pieces, one the Omega dark side of the moon is a distant relative to one of yours and I am as passionate about it as your are your collection.
Fantastic collection. Interesting episode.
Dufour *and* Daniels. Totally bonkers.
The legend is back!
Fantastic collection!!!!
Is that a strong Bostonian accent I’m hearing? The guy sounds like JFK 🙂
What’s his IG?
The GOAT indie collector! Thanks, Mike!
Great talk. AK-06 is so good.
Nice collection
George is alright. Nice collection.
Rolex who?
For all the big talk he doesn’t own a Roger W Smith……..a real watch maker. I admire and envy him though for the Daniels.
These watches are clearly never worn. Look at the straps. Sad. But he sure loves ugly braclets.

Totally false. Go to 12:50 you can see curvature on all the straps from being worn.
At some level you have to ask yourself.... Why is the joy from a few watches more important than literally paying for the education of thousands of children or paying for people to not die of starvation. There was a choice made.... And it saddens me.

@@William22M I give what I can. There are obviously levels and we can discuss if I'm doing enough or not. But I think it's reasonable to say the richer you are the more of a moral obligation you have to do something because you simply can. But overwhelmingly speaking the wealth consistently don't do this and actually do the opposite and then have people, mostly poorer people, justify it lol. It's funny, worldwide and America it's the poor who more of their income to charity. Because, usually speaking, only the poor actually think about the poor. People who hoard millions in something as genuinely useless as watches without a second thought to others are doing so out of complete ignorance to others because a watch actually brings them more joy and I think that's really telling. This guy is self aware enough where he made a video about how he justifies it all. I can't see any reason to praise someone who can call a spend like that worthwhile just like the other billionaires and millionaires on KZread and social media who do the same. It's the same wealth hoarding and endless and thoughtless greed and self indulgence.

@@William22M tl;Dr there's a huge difference between an average person buying themselves a "nice watch" and a guy spending many thousands that budget on the same.

@@William22M hey, I have an opinion and you have yours. There's enough evidence about the wealthy people in general. I think watches are cool as hell but can also discuss the larger issues that they represent. We're approaching rarely seen levels of wealth disparity world wide. You're free to ignore its consequences and I'm sure this rich guy and others will be happy to thank you for defending their indulgences when very clearly choices were made.

@@William22M that's an assumption.... All you actually know is he spent many millions on watches.
