I come back to this song at least once a year. I still cry every time. The "remix" is nothing but pure irony. It highlights everything he's singing about. ...honest and depressing lyrics hidden behind a happy beat.
@Jahadyn
Жыл бұрын
He said pretty much the same thing in an interview I saw. How ironic he found that all when the song is supposed to be sad and depressing -- he even talks about the events around it which prompted him to write it and how badly he was feeling at the time. 😢 Just to goes to show you how clueless most people are about music and lyrics.

I belive electronic music is going in the same path that it was before. The catch is exactly what you said, the happy beat and the sad lyrics make the equilibium. The same person can feel happy and depressed at the same time on the club, reflecting the will to express that depression while dancing "happy". You need to feel sad to recognize happiness.

this version is so wonderful, to a 22 year old who has been massively impacted by mac’s words and artistry. To now somehow already have made a connection with someone who used to call him a friend is seriously one of the inspiring moments I’ve had in years. I see great things for myself through artistic expression and i’m getting there partly through the amazing work artist such as mike has already put out into the universe. Sometimes tuning out to what you specifically are trying to create and tuning into another person’s story really can dig the perfect hole to fill no pun intended
You might get various songs in your lifetime that touch you but in reality they only scratch the surface. Then there’s a song that vibrates the very fabric of your being and it’s usually no more than 2 or 3 throughout a lifetime. Without doubt this is one of them

This is one of my favourite songs now, especially this version you can hear the emotion in his voice. The line "I can't keep a girl... And the truth is I can't open up" shows vurnrability rarely shown to others. This man has felt pain.
Hearing how this song is meant to be performed is an incredible experience. Many chills.
I feel like this man is so unappreciated and a generation hard to fit in

sobering moment to take pop art and make it come from the heart. stop and think about being all alone, because not everyone dies.
Ive been so proud to follow your journey. Ive wanted to take a walk similar to yours... But through Appalachia. That sould searching journey. Im envious but not in a disrespectful way. Keep being you. Those thumbs down are from people who are afraid of themselves when they are in complete silence.
this song help me to refuse drug, I was hated that day but soon I know they are not a true friend. I quit smoke, drunk, and then I see a changes happen. Mike, u are so AWESOME!! I’ve went through loosing many friends from suicide, drugs, and cancer!! They don’t lie when they say the good die young!! You are good too and I’m so glad you took a moment and decided you want to live!! Not all of my friends wanted to die but that’s how it goes. No rhythm or reason!! Thank you for taking the gifts that God has blessed you with to show others another path! Those of us that are still here have An obligation to help others along the way!! I became a mom 9 years ago and I know being a mom is one thing I’m supposed to do. once my daughter is grown and while she is still growing I have work to do on this earth too..I’m still searching how to do both and I just hope I’m doing enough!!
whenever I feel low, I visualize myself getting a hug from you. It really helps me. Thank you Mike for inspiring us with every inch of your living.

He really changed in just 3 years. Wow. The way he looked, and sounded 3 years before singing this version. Totally different person.
What a king. love you buddy. What a beautiful thing this truth is.
So wonderful. Thank you Darren for showing me this
This is what happens when someone with talent, who has found success and financial security realizes that fame is superficial and their personal happiness is more important than continuing to be a puppet for the sake of status and carrying on that façade. Hope he/you are able to find that sense of fulfillment and do something you believe in for the people you shouted out. When I first heard the club remix, I just loved it as a friday night banger then I saw some interviews and realized it was hijacked from his statement as wanting out to being recycled as the very thing he was singing against. For real, hope you find a happy path in life, once I chose happiness over money and status, life got better.

Mike Posner (I like to think we're soul homies so I call you Mikey P.), You are my spirit animal. Calamity in my life (enough to shift the THEN current path) was happening in my life when I saw you looking like sad Bob Ross in your "Move On" music video thumbnail and I just had to see what happened. I'm so thankful for that decision because your ideas and words, how you delivered them, helped me decide the path I wanted to take to deal with the calamity. And it helped me decide who I wanted to be after the calamity was over. Thank you Mikey P., and God bless you. Please, keep being you and #KeepGoing
