Ойын-сауық
Before Chris Martin played “Viva la Vida” live on the Stern Show in 2016, the multi-talented Coldplay frontman gave Howard a choice: “I could do it on guitar or piano ... you can choose.”

@@Blueridge1961 You don't need to be famous to play the same four chords, palm muted for the entire song... I could do that when I was 15, and you could do it too after only a couple months playing guitar. Chris called the arrangement simple because it IS simple. It's easy to play. There's nothing wrong with that. Not every song needs to be a classical piece from Paganini or Liszt to be enjoyable to listen to. We can appreciate this performance, simple as it is, without pretending it's a virtuosic masterclass in instrumental technique.

used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes Listen as the crowd would sing "Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!" One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you go there was never Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world It was the wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in Shattered windows and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become Revolutionaries wait For my head on a silver plate Just a puppet on a lonely string Oh who would ever want to be king? I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world

Just an honest and humbled musician." Should I keep going?". Nailed every part of it.
I never new when hearing it on the radio but hearing it like this i love these musicians... They are something else.
such a great version along with the bits of conversation with Howard
Damn his voice!! So pure and clean! He doesn't need Auto tune..
Dude! He filled in the instrumental parts with conversations. What a genius performer!
Love this man, such a kind soul, beautiful voice
Love love love! Chris Martin's voice is.. liquid gold and smoky whisky all rolled into one. Amazing talent and amazing personality.
He is a genius. Such creativity in writing those words. I have a little of the automatic writing ability that someone like Chris has to the extreme. Words constantly buzzing around in your head, you sit down with an instrument and sometimes they fall into place. He has the confidence to take his musings into the studio and turn them into masterpieces...or do something like this just off the cuff. Remarkable.

U know i have a friend who writes without any instrument. But as for me i can write but it's not all the time. As soon as i sit in front of a piano or guitar words or ideas start to accumulate in the head. It's so magical!

TheBent139 You don’t find anything wrong with these lyrics? He’s basically telling you whom he serves. And it’s evident he channeled the lyrics, the melody and composition from a demonic source.

That rhythm and feel, most importantly his voice is amazing.
The production quality is amazing in this, can really feel and hear each and every string Chris strums, kudos to the team behind the scenes.
This is one of the best recordings of him singing this song. It's raw, free, the spirit of viva la vida🎉🎉🎉
Why does he look like a clean Benedict cumberbatch

Howard Stern brings out the best of the best musicians. Chris Martin - wow!
Ever since I've first listened to this song, I have had these phases where I would come to this track once in a while and would listen to all versions of it in repeat for days, be it somewhere performed live, or just Chris Martin's one of many guitar solos. It sort of calms my mind and gives me perspective every time.

Yes yes yes exactly!
1:06 ---He looks like a high school student ready to do his Power point representation .
Whenever he knowingly sings this off scale, man, he takes it to another level....respect..
Amazing! He is so talented 🔥❤️
This is my favourite Coldplay song. The writing on this song is just next class.
