Saw all these videos all over my feed lately. Been weight lifting for 15 years. Tried switching to Mikes training ideology of supersets and failure and lower volume, etc. workouts went from 1 hour down to about 25-35 min or so with extremely heavy sets and very few of them but all basically to failure. My strength has increased more in the last 2 months than It did in the last 2 years. I’ve always been one who struggles to gain weight. I can lose 2lbs in a week but takes me 6 months to gain 2lbs of muscle without gear. I’ve gained ~4lbs in the last 2 months (for me that’s a lot as I’m only 160lbs) wish I would have known about Metzners training ideology earlier but it’s made a big difference for me. And I don’t get sore anymore.
@no_bs_science
Ай бұрын
dude, if your weight is about 160 after 15 years of training, and you claim to gain 2 lbs if pure muscle in 6 months... this means that you had -60 lbs of muscle 15 years ago (if we assume that you never had quicker anabolism as a newcomer) you talk some ridiculous nonsense, dude my guess is that your training was really poor and lacking, so you didn't have any results and now you are achieving at least some intensity, which give you newcomer effect

i am 6 feet dude, who has 4 years of experience in a gym and my 12-13% fat weight is usually 185-190 lbs i started as 167 lbs skinny fat dude 4 years ago and i'm using basic bro split, without any crazy approaches it works as a clock so, your poor result might be caused by your mistakes
@WoloLB
Ай бұрын
@@no_bs_science no. I have a hard time gaining weight and always have. My metabolism is incredibly higher than most and it’s been a struggle. My training has been very different over the years as I kept trying different things. And I can say that from the ages of 15-25, what I thought I knew compared to what I know now was entirely wrong. I’ve competed in BB, degree in nutrition and biology, tried steroids, SARMs, etc. my point was that what I’ve learned about training from Mikes ideology today compared to what I was doing and knew for the prior 13-14 years, was very much indifferent. It took me years to gain weight. Basically averaging 1-2lbs of lean mass a year at most except the years without steroids. And after bulking and cutting several times, I’m 160-165 today and when I started I was 140-145. However, last year I was under 160lbs. So I’m technically up overall, but my fat is the same as before according to that stupid thing we stand on and grab handles for. I know it’s inaccurate. But my point overall is that I’ve learned more about how to train from Mike and gain mass in the last year and made more progress in the last few months than I did in the entirety of my many years prior. I suck at wording It so I apologize.

I did this routine for a little over 2 months. Did it by the book. I took a week off to fully recover form previous workouts. I didn’t have a partner but I’ve always worked out alone and my airpods allow me to dig deep. “Going to failure” doesn’t do justice to how much you push past your limits for this. You do 2-3 light warm up sets and then 1 set to absolute failure. You do rest pause or drip sets to get to complete failure. The end result should be you couldn’t lift the weight if it was 5lbs. This is only safe with machines. By the end you feel like you did 20 sets. The hardest part was actually the 4 days of rest between each workout. I grew more than I ever did and I’ve tried a lot of different routines with opposite styles. Mike was on to something for bodybuilding. If your goal is PURELY to build muscle, I highly recommend this. However i personally want to be all around balanced athletically. This routine will only build muscle and some strength. You’ll lose endurance and athleticism.

That's some of the best advice. I don't have much experience in gym but I felt it.
And I don’t get sore anymore.

dude, if your weight is about 160 after 15 years of training, and you claim to gain 2 lbs if pure muscle in 6 months... this means that you had -60 lbs of muscle 15 years ago (if we assume that you never had quicker anabolism as a newcomer) you talk some ridiculous nonsense, dude my guess is that your training was really poor and lacking, so you didn't have any results and now you are achieving at least some intensity, which give you newcomer effect

@WoloLB
I suck at wording It so I apologize.

titillation is the most motivating thing
Legend. I took a bit of his advice into my regime, more rest, what a difference it makes. No longer overeating, liver and vital organs are less overworked, better lifting sessions, less injury. The muscles takes longer than u think to rebuild, don't rush it otherwise you're merely tearing and re-tearing the same muscle which overtime will lead to muscle wastage
I need this guy next to me every day

this why you do dips after the first workout and not to end💀
