I watched every Dolphins game since Tua has been there, and I swear Chris Simms has never seen Tua play. Since Mike McDaniel has gotten there Tua is top 5 in air yards thrown. After Baltimore, Buffalo, and KC last year i said Tua has got to start taking off on 3rd down. The defense brackets the receivers, the LBs drop back into those zpne spots Tua loves to hit, and he is left with dumping the ball off to the back at the LOS, hoping he can beat the defense to the sticks. All while Tua has 10-15 yards of green in front of him. If he can move enough to get a few first downs when there is nothing there, those linebackers will have to stop cheating back, and some of those money plays will start opening up on passing downs.

Tua is the most over scrutinized QB in the league. People just need to let the man play. He's playing well. The team has a winning record 4 years in a row. They've made the playoffs in back to back years. What they've lacked the last couple of years is a 3rd option behind Hill and Waddle who can catch the ball in the middle of the field. Now they have OBJ, Smith, and Achane (who's going to be featured much more in the passing game). The league better watch out. The analysts expecting a drop off from the Dolphins are kidding themselves.

I've watched the Dolphins since Shula's first press conference so I''ve seen two HOF QB's and have also watched the NFL evolve...Tua isn't 6'4 1/2" like Marino, he's a hair over 6'0"...I think he was a little heavy last year but obviously played well, but I think he should play at no more than 210 or 205. However I want him to be careful about trying to extend plays...play smart and live to fight on the next series. I am more concerned about how our OL plays and how DE Jalen Phillips recovers from his Achilles tear...when he went down last year our defense looked helpless against the top teams. to my eyes, when Phillips was on teh field we had a D player who could make game changing plays, when he wasn't we did not.

adding strength last year was thought that it would help with the hits but the real issue was falling wrong and he fixed that clearly so him getting back to his best weight were he can be more mobile and extend plays is only going to benefit the offense. Look at his earlier years and how much quicker he was the first two years. He's only going to get better, he's proven that every year. Phins up

After the season Tua said his issue his rookie year was trying to focus on rehabbing his hip, which meant he hadn't learned the playbook well enough to be comfortable checking and alerting plays so would just run the play called every time regardless of whether he expected it to work well or not due to the defense. There was never any mention by Flores that playbook knowledge affected the benchings and it was isolated to that ~1/2 of a rookie season Tua played. • @Oklahoma-Dreaming

Tua has so many positives. Unfortunately he has a few offsetting weaknesses, mostly out of his control: “short” for a QB, injury prone, and probably less-than-average arm strength. His Load-to-Release (LTR) is one of the quickest ever, just over 0.3 which nearly makes up for a weaker arm at least in the short-to-intermediate range. I’d like to see his Load-to-Arrival (LTA) time as I’ve never seen a number - Trent Dilfer’s favorite stat - but I’ll bet it’s actually really good, up to maybe 30 yards. After that a ball thrown by say Josh Allen beats him. (Just for s-ts and giggles I once created a LTA equation based upon LTR, ball speed and distance. Plugging in numbers I found that QBs with a quick release “win” up to maybe 30 yards or so.)
