"The market is the Market". Its not about comparing to Goff or Mahomes. If you wanted to pay Tua differently then Dolphins should have set the market themselves two years ago. Just like they did with Waddle, now they aren't being compared to Jefferson. It's ironic that Dolphins are paying top dollar to Waddle buf doesn't want to do so for the QB that threw Waddle those passes. Just like Rich said earlier, keep on delaying and letting the cost gets higher. Ironic that both Rich and Chris root for teams that are both in QB purgatory. They are both laughing at Dolphin fans. Has Aaron Rodgers shown you he deserves his massive contract? Especially since he is dealing with another injury. Scabs? Tbh, we have seen this show before. Grier wil get contracts quickly. Once he doesn't and allow this past 1 week, feelings get hurt. Then, he says blank bet on himself but couldn't get the numbers to work out. Welcome to QB purgatory.

The worst part of the NFL is you get hurt for drafting or development a great QB then resigning him. It destroys your salary cap which is bad for the game. Its an awful system. You should be able to sign your own players that you drafted or traded for without fear that your team will now be dismantled or that theres some arbitrary clock ticking against your competitiveness. Free agent signings are different as thats rewarding teams that cant draft good.

I think if you think he's your guy you need to pay the man. You can argue that he's not at the same level as Goff who has taken one team to the Super Bowl and another to the NFC championship. So is Tua at that level, maybe not, but can he be, if you think so then you have to pay him. You can't just say well he hasn't do it in the playoffs since the sample size for the post season is smaller than all of the time played and stats racked up in the reg season. If that's the case then lots of QBs would get their walking papers. You'd only reward players deep runs. Doesn't matter what was in your control or not in those playoff games? You gotta pay him or get a new QB if you have doubts.

With Tua it’s a catch 22 situation! Without Tua the Dolphins are no where! Without McDaniel where is Tua? How many QB’s in the NFL are worth what they are getting paid? Right now only 2 comes to mind! But the rest of the league is trying to find/create one of these 2 guys (Mahomes, Allen)! Burrow would be there if he were not so injury prone!

As a fan. I don't want to see the team spend the CAP money too out of balance. Pay the QB #1 in league. Pay LT #1 in league. Pay WR1 #2 in league. Pay TE #1 in league. Pay RB1 . . . . Well . . . . We all know RB's are paid very little. They are lucky to be paid bonus in S&H Green Stamps. Perhaps dual threat RB can also get an A card so he can go to the store and turn in his Green Stamps for a meager portion of bread with just a pat of butter. Poor RBs. You see what happens to running backs in this system. Will we ever have an Emmitt Smith or Walter Payton again?

I agree 100%. And by not signing Tua right away before all other QBs (Falcons, Bucs, Lions), Dolphins showed how uneasy they are about Tua. Which should drive them to trade him and work right now with another QB, or give Skylar his shot.

Of course Tua should get paid better than Goff. Why are games played against winning teams all his fault? What share of fault should the coaches be responsible for against these teams with winning records? For all the hype with McDaniels being head coach I still see the coaches choking calling plays on both sides of the ball. And has Goff ever had a 4,000+ yard season? The Gate receipts and Phin fever ever since Tua has become QB should suffice.

I think the contract should be based on the individual players contributions to the Team and previous performance not just the market. It should be on an individual basis. If the dolphins don’t want to pay him, he’ll go somewhere else .

No. Contracts of all kinds are between the two parties, and no one else. Both parties being free of chosing whichever criteria they deem relevant to stamp-value said contract. 50 mil/year for Cousins looks ridiculous to all of us, but if it looks fine to Cousins and the Falcons, after all, why not? It's not our money.
