If Tua is smart he takes a 3yr around 120-130 million and demands they invest in the O-Line then he’ll still be under 30 the cap will go up again and get the max on his next contract.

correct me if Im wrong - but tagging Tua for 2 straight years absolutely eats 30%+ of the cap. He would be eligible for average of top 5 players at the position and you get no relief of the fake years at the end of the long term contract other teams have given their QB - not to mention having him play on his 5th year eats 23+ mil this year also - so how exactly is this so called GM planning to manage that situation ? its easy to create scenarios when you don't deal in facts - problem for the dolphins is tagging him is actually a HUGE problem from a cap perspective - signing him is far less of a problem and manageable - so in my opinion if they don't get a deal done their intention will be to pay someone else the following year OR pay tua way more because he has earned it - I can't argue with that logic, but its quite a game of chicken and if Tua does marginally better than last year - meaning pro bowl and great numbers but still doesn't win the "big games" then what ? now you are stuck paying him more than 55 full cap hit OR you are looking elsewhere and who exactly is going to be better? Is it any wonder this deal is taking a while ? this is the most vexing situation in the NFL full stop.

The plan from the get-go was to get the fastest receivers and running backs to fit this scheme. Which they did. Especially this upcoming year he has a paratha of talent around him. If Patrick Mahones had Miami's weapons KC would average 50 points a game. That there are a handful of QBs that can run this offensive system to perfection & TUA is one of them. I'm talking about running this particular scheme. When they signed Jonnua Smith they instantly have a triangle threat because they finally have the right type of tight end that fits the system. I would love to resign C Williams. ONLY if he's healthy. It would be huge to resign him. Wow! Before the injury he was having a pro bowl season..But again Miami always wins on paper in June and July. Position wise Miami is loaded. Really loaded!! Olympic track team

  • @samuelrosa8730

Tua will sign his contract this season. Tua has done a whole lot more with the Dolphins than any other QB1 has that has signed a contract. Prime example is Tua raised their talent level in 2020-2021 and in 2021-2022 seasons. The WRs that Miami had there at the time aren't in the NFL anymore other than Gesicki (who had the most receiving yards in his career with Tua) that's without anyone Tua DID ELEVATE THEIR WRs level and there's fans and media and people in general that WONT ADMIT THAT TUA ELEVATED THEIR LEVEL and Waddle who has set the franchise record with (3) 1000 yard seasons because of Tua!!! Not to mention in those 2 seasons the Miami Dolphins didn't have a OC that knew how to utilize these WRs and the QB1 how they should've and didn't have the coaching staff there either and now in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons HC McDaniel brings in the COACHING STAFF that KNOWS how to work with EVERYONE and Tua's numbers show it!!! Tua is the QB1 and McDaniel has even said as well as QB Coach Bevell (who was Farve and Russell's QB Coach as well) Tua is the smartest QB1 that I've ever worked with and when they said that people take it mildly when they shouldn't because these type QB1s DON'T GROW ON TREES!!! Tua will be signed sooner rather than later because the Dolphins Organization know who they have here in Tua as a player and off the field person as a whole as well!!! Not signing him is dumbest move yet because then he's not flexible to move other players contracts around!!! Seriously let's think about this whole thing out first!! SMH!! Tua is a far better QB1 than anyone that has been signed so far there isn't any question there!! Tua is a TOP 5 QB1 NO QUESTION AND PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT TUA LIKE HE'S A QUESTION MARK!!! TUA HAS ELEVATED TYREEK!! TYREEK NEVER HAD 1700 yds and then have 1799 yds the very next season and Waddle missed games last season and still had over 1000 yds receiving. THE MEDIA AND FANS AND PEOPLE IN GENERAL NEED TO STOP IT WITH TUA BECAUSE TUA IS THE REAL DEAL!!! HE'S DONE IT WITH THE WORST OLINE IN THE ENTIRE NFL FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER HERES THE WIN RATE 31st, 32nd,25th,31st NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AVERAGE AND NOT TO MENTION THE INTERIOR OLINE WAS DOWN TO THEIR 3rd string INTERIOR OLINE in 2023-2024 last 3 games Bills, Ravens, Cheifs!!! Keep that in mind as well. Fins Up

“Tua has been better than any qb that’s signed yet” im sorry, excuse my goddamn French, but you seriously saying that tua is better than mahomes? Last time I checked, tua got absolutely slapped against kc and his only td was on a broken coverage. He couldn’t drive down the field or barely throw a ball past the line of scrimmage without it going into the dirt. He was easily the worst qb in the playoffs that year, and it showed. And before you use “well it was a cold game” excuse, literally the week before he had a chance to secure the division against the bills and absolutely failed. Not a fan of any teams, although I do follow the NFL. With the Tua situation, the Dolphins would be making a crucial mistake extending a contract. Let him prove it this year, if he doesn’t do anything let him walk. His stats are relatively high against teams under 500. I don’t care what you can do in September and October. Football in November and December is where it counts. When the elements are uncomfortable in rain and severe cold weather is where you prove yourself. The guy can’t find his identity, his hairstyle changes every year and his weight fluctuates. Tua will be playing in the UFL in the future. If not a backup somewhere or on a practice squad, this is his future.

Three, prove you can win late in the season when it counts. Four, prove you can step up and win the big games, like when the conference and division were on the line. Five, prove you can play and win in cold weather. 0-6 in the coldest games he has played in is not gonna get you wins late in the season nor in the playoffs. @@OldManInternet Tua has been in the MVP conversation for 2 years in a row, led the league in passing last season, 2 consecutive pro bowls. If you let him play out this season and he wins mvp that 55 million goes to over 60 and someone will pay that

@@dalecelestin7591 I'm not saying the GM was right. I'm saying that's the argument. Teams will be reluctant to give 200 mil+ guaranteed money to a guy who is a concussion away from retirement, so his open market value will be disproportionately lower than his numbers suggest they should be.

@@dalecelestin7591 Lol pro bowls mean nothing and "in conversation of MVP" means even less. His league-lead in passing yards was because Tyreek sprints by everyone, not because of anything Tua did.

Real easy for an UNNAMED GM….with absolutely zero skin in the game, to say not to pay him. These GM’s are in a game of competitive sports, why in the world would he wish another team success in any respect. Especially when he is UNNAMED!! How does someone become rich and famous as a professional tattle tale, always quoting unnamed sources.

Get a grip. Kelce was the main target in KC. Tyreek is now only the main target in Miami, and Tua actually looks to him too much and forces the ball to him far too much when he's not open. Tua should have had a lot more INTs last year than he did.
