Mike Majlak: It’s a Miracle I’m Alive | Know Thyself Podcast EP 31
Mike Majlak went from being an opioid addict to a successful author, podcast host, and content creator. Today he shares his story of overcoming 10 years of addiction, having the courage to begin recovery, and making impact his redemption.
He opens up about his biggest regrets in life and explains why he wouldn't trade his past for anything. He also shares the struggles of balancing life as a content creator and using his platform for positivity. He debunks the common misconception that more money/fame = more happiness, explaining his current struggles with anxiety and mortality.
Mike and André reminisce about their time together living at the Maverick house with Logan Paul, and the journey to making Impaulsive.

___________
Mike Majlak:
Mike Majlak is an author, content creator, and co-host on the popular podcast, “Impaulsive,” with Logan Paul.
Mike Majlak was a seventeen-year-old from a loving, middle-class family in Milford, Connecticut, when he got caught up in the opioid epidemic that swept the nation. For close to a decade thereafter, his life was a wasteland of darkness and despair. While his peers were graduating from college, buying homes, getting married, having kids, and leading normal lives, Mike was snorting OxyContin, climbing out of cars at gunpoint, and burying his childhood friends. Unable to escape the noose of addiction, he eventually lost the trust and support of everyone who had ever loved him. Alone, with nothing but drugs to keep him company, darkness closed in, and the light inside him--the last flicker of hope--began to dim. His dreams, potential, and future were all being devoured by a relentless addiction too powerful to fight. Despair filled him as he realized he wasn't going to survive.
Somehow, he did... He not only survived, he thrived.
Now he's a social media personality with millions of followers, and an entrepreneur, marketer, podcaster, KZreadr, and author who hopes to use his voice to shine a light for those whose own lights have grown dim.

Absolutely loved this podcast, big fan of you both Andre and Mike! Much love from Brisbane, Australia! 💪
Thanks for your vulnerability Mike, and thanks for bringing this episode Andre. Really appreciate this.
I love Mike so much. Even though I don’t know him personally, I get such a sense of just a real genuine person. He mentioned how he feels like he can be misunderstood a lot and I knew exactly what he meant when he was trying to explain why that is. My brain works a lot like Mikes. I find it hard to come across people that really get me. Wish him nothing but love & blessings ♥️🙏🏼
Mike, Yes make people laugh. It is as powerful as love and light! And yes, please be like a child. It is why we are here, to live like a child. To look at every moment with wonderment. I enjoyed virtually meeting you! Andre, you continue to rock and sharing these gems! Thank you 😊
Wow two hours! Thanks Mike, LONG podcast from a LONG guy

I have read his book and listened to him for years and as a former addict I know that because I listened to something he said he has prevented me from doing drugs because I feel bad. He has such a work ethic and I would love to work for him someday.
Hope to meet you one day Mike, truly inspire me I relate to u in many good and bad ways always knew I have so much potential

Right there with you Mike I was an opiate addict for 10 years as well along with many other drugs I didn’t make it rise to fame though, so that’s good for you. Glad you were able to do so, but shit I wish somebody would pay me to come be on a podcast tell my story I can use the money I have for kids just trying to give them the best life possible
I to know what being in recovery means. This is just letting me know I’m gonna make it. I don’t know what it is yet but I’m a no body in West Virginia. That could have died young. This podcast just shows me and people Mike that there is a future and more to be had.

The talk about the women hit different good shit mike
It Honestly Was Just A Vibe That Didn't Mesh.
I respect Mike's journey. He has grown a lot. He is missing the part that empathy is what causes you to be an enabler. The rejection of certain parts of society now he doesn't agree with was the lack of empathy he thought he deserved while in his addiction. He mindset has become vengeful to the types of people that wanted him to get his crap together, instead of relying on his enablers and helpers to fix it. Now, he has transferred his addiction to a new addiction. Mike is doing good but his addiction issues aren't fixed, my dude need dropped in the wood on Naked and Afraid.
I’m also from maine
The Night Sesh
Mike sure loves the sound of his own voice
Mikes a G. I have a ton of respect for his story and impact although I think it’s worth noting his well-spoken-ness might be a false indicator of a level of wisdom that isn’t actually there. Not a slam, just seems he thinks he’s climbed the second mountain and is accomplished when there is most definitely a good gap between him and enlightenment
@mattforman4972
Жыл бұрын
Who are you to decide that there is a gap between him and enlightenment? Perhaps you making judgements like that about others actually says a lot more about you than Mike
Wow didn’t recognized Andre, he looks 10 years older 😮
Do you think you need a tradgedy in your life to really stop being a addict , 15 years of being a functioning addict im very close to ruining people’s life’s close to me and it scares me but I can’t stop
Mike is a goonie, and goonies never say die!

Oh it’s Jeff whiteks friend
It’s crazy how some people can’t handle heroin but can moderate alcohol. One drink and I’m guaranteed to black out. I can’t handle alcohol but I can easily handle heroin or opiates. Quit heroin on accident. Just stopped smoking it one day. It’s easy to quit drugs when they’re not sold on every corner or every one is doing them or there are places exclusively devoted to smoking heroin lol. Imagine your friends saying “hey let’s go to the opium den tonight and smoke some black tar then go dancing. They got the best aluminum foil and their tooters are made of gold.” lol
@coralross2947

If you just "quit heroin on accident" and easily handle heroin and opiates" then it is very likely you are full of crap and was never addicted in the first place
Mike, you are late, but not really man. Maybe compared to Logan, you’re late, but 99 percent of people will never experience the life and wealth that you have in 38 years. Most people will never be able to connect with other people the way you have! You’re still in your 30s and literally have everything besides a family. You will have a family if you truly want one.
