bro same trying to go through a game like this with noob English actually made it even better, everything felt so foreign & you had to slowly try and work your way through every part of it, my characters were like 100 years old by the time I got up there lmao

The barrow downs is the best song. Especially the climax at 9:30. The creepiness, loneliness and sense of lost at the intro is contrasted with the beauty of the end, symbolizing freedom, relief, and hope.

This music takes me back to when I was but a boy, I sure do miss those days.

Goddamn, but the feels i get from these soundtracks (mm6-8) they take me back to a simpler, younger time when i didnt know the fucked up shit that the world and life was capable of yet. Me and my brothers in the 90s had no other goal in life but to play and beat these games. I still listen to these tracks as background music to other games and even sometimes randomly on long family trips in the car.

33:43 Damn I remember first time i got into Thunderfist Mountain. After a long trip through dwarven tunnels finally found it. Then I enter and I see a big fookin Minotaur and this music starts playing, with the scary SFX sound of the minotaur/evil eye (not sure which one that was). Something beautiful.

Man the dwarven barrows. What a masterpiece. So much Story gets transported. The rise and Downfall of the dwarves whi lie down there in the barrows.

Nostalgia...

My party is often a Goblin Knight/Champion (sometimes Dwarf ), Human Thief/Spy, Dwarf Cleric/Priest of Light and Elf Sorcerer/Archmage and is good aligned.

I will never forget the moment I entered the Nighon outlands and that music starts playing....

That first track is 1 of the most rememberable and haunting pieces of music I have ever heard. That voice/theremin sound!

yup hear the track never forget it one of my favorites.

So many amazing memories. I still remember when I first played it (also was my first game ever) when I was 7 years old after watching my sisters play it... I loved it. I didn't finish it until I was like 10 or 11 years old, however. That was because I had to sneak through the pit with invis and I was way too scared to do that back then. In fact, the first MM game I finished, was MM8, which I absolutely loved as well. But MM7 is still my most favorite game in the series, first because so many amazing memories and just the sheer sentimental value of it and second reason being the very polished feel of it all.

Yeah, it's criminal how 8 was shoved out the door, it would've easily been the best of the series had it gotten another couple months of development.. But some parts of the game are just clearly half baked, especially the latter ones. 7 is my fave as well.

@@mortenrl1946 Same can be said for MM9, when I talked with Tim Lang, who had the misfortune of being the lead designer for that sinking ship of a game, he told me they had plans for different NPC routines (imagine something similar to Gothic or Oblivion) and lots of other good stuff. Shame they only got about half a year for the actual development of the game. I still enjoyed it tho, having played through twice.

@@theotherperson9928 I liked 9 as well, and did play through it. It just felt so starkly different from the previous series, had a bootleg feel. Even as a 14year old who didn't know anything, I could tell something was wrong with it. Music was still gorgeous.

This music reminds me so many memories when I was a child playing M&M 6-8. It always makes me goosebumps when listening to this beautiful music composed by Paul Anthony Romero. The game atmosphere with this music = magnifique ^_^

dwarven barrows is one of the best tracks i have ever listen in video games, man that part on 9:30 is incredible

Got to admit it. This music... It is just pure Soul of this game. I had played it countless times just because of her. Shame that no one is making them anymore.

Still total classic

These are so damn good man. Celeste is mind boggingly beautiful, easily movie soundtrack quality (and good movie, like Green Mile tier). God these were such good games - I was introduced to them at 12-15 (back when the boxed version of VI Mandate of Heaven came with a map made of like, near burlap style cloth, it was amazing) and later came back to them with mouse look, and played them essentially like Open World Doom. So fortunate to have these be what got me into Open World RPGs, and are still among my favorite ever made. Appreciate your work, Paul, and everyone else involved in these masterworks.

The way it starts at 33:43 is amazing. Honestly, using invisibility and tiptoeing by the Titans and Dragons to find the Master Bow, was one of the most suspenseful moments I had in the entire game.

They should start a kickstarter. Remake MM 6,7,8 style game ( not 9 lol) with new worlds and a bit beter movement and grafics.. Rest is fine as it was DO NOT CHANGE IT !

+Rob Z. might and magic X was a MaM 1 - 5 tribute, and it was not bad game at all, but ubisoft horrible management managed to bury this chance of revive with poor support (just as they did with HoMaM 6/7), but i agree that someone made revival of MaM 6-8 era

MM7 the best... by far. The theme, atomsphere, story, the promotion classes and finally the music.

There is about 160k views, I must represent 1000 of those haha. Love it!

Easily one of the best video game soundtracks out there.

This is fare more just a game, here what u can call fantasy spirit itself.

This was/is my favourite game of all time. As someone commented, it's the spirit of fantasy itself. The story with the music is captivating and the best of VI, VII and VIII.

I miss the good 'ol M&M games. We love you Bethesda, but we need new might and magics that aren't killed by ubi

Hey, I don’t know if this was intentional or not, but the music for Emerald Isle quotes Brahms cello concerto #1. A tiny musical Easter egg that makes a great soundtrack even better.

I remember when I was young that I didn't dare to listen to the Dwarven Barrows song, but in later years realized it grows into one of the most beautiful songs in the entire game. It's chilling to the core for a while, but then just becomes just so wonderful.

The favorite part of mine is the thunder mountain. Such a exciting place!

Deyja at the beginning, the bare and bleak wasteland of the half-dead. Actually years later I came to know Deyja is the word for 'death' in Nordic tongue, a very suitable name for the homeland of liches and necromancers.

So many years passed, yet right on the very beginning i heard harpies and gryphins voices constantly popping randomly in the music xD

loving this, always droping by for a while..

i must say that the Temple Music is touching and kinda fits the monastery feel over the area, also the Barrow downs ost is nice aswell, most of this ost is spot on imo :D

Played this game, along with 6 and 8 when I was a kid and it amazes me how unknown this series is considering it wasn't a bad D&D-like game.

Martijn van Zanen I used to love it before greenlight. It used to mean something when you got your game on steam, now it's the easiest platform to get on if you have $100 bucks and a few people to upvote you. Steam went from "providing quality games on a serious platform" to "we sell what sells well".

***** God can I agree more, the content is just so limited on the tile based map and you have to follow one strict path its not a huge open world like the other might and magics. In my opinion after 8 they got a bit off the content. 9 was really fun too but my favourites will always be 6 and 7 :)

It is pretty well known story. They just used both same payed sound clip library and this is literally same or same-folder sound clip possibly with slightly adjusted pitch. I would like to know the exact name if this sound library so i could use it too :3
