Note - live mains voltage is exposed with the top cover removed, don't do this if you don't know what you are doing. Also depending on your audio setup the bearing noise may be suppressed. The crappier speakers the better it seems, the ones in my monitor reproduced the sound fine but not my bose headphones.

What noise do you mean exactly? I think I might hear it make a bit of a dragging sound at about 1:27 till 1:35, correct? Is that it?

this is amazing, im dealing with the same issue with an Asko, I diagnosed it as serpentine belt strethced and squealing. New belt fro mitaly incl postage 40 bucks compared to 70 bucks here!

Most of them is not the drum bearing but the Drum spider cross . It is from alu cast and it brakes . Miele is offering a 10 year warranty on this fault .

Isn't that only applicable to older models? I've seen some Bosches and Siemens machines (and older/cheaper ones) have that issue. How the F are companies like that still using two different types of metal at that location while they know that that will eat away at each other during the lifetime of a machine. The new Miele I have bought supposedly uses RVS throughout the drum at the parts that get wet and get in contact with water and detergent. The new AEGs these days (is in German production again but still an Electrolux Group company) don't have the faulty circuit board that nearly all Electrolux Group machines had back in the day, however, now they have glued the two outside (plastic) drum parts shut/together so IF (or maybe better put: when) the bearing goes, you can't replace it. Well, not easily at least. I've seen guys saw it open, then replacing the bearing, then screwing and glueing it shut/together again. But that's quite a hassle. The Samsungs and LGs are notorious for suffering from broken arms. So Miele with all the steel parts just comes out on top, and it's not hard to come out on top when looking at this industry and the way the produce. While they damn we'll know what the problem is. What I do appreciate about AEG is that they support their product when it's out of warranty: whatever the repair is you pay 219 euro's and they come on-site, diagnose and fix the problem, including parts and labour for those 219 euros. So that's a nice change compared to the others. Especially seeing as what the plastic fused drum can mean for replacing the bearings. I'm very curious to see how they will do in the future.

Sanid Džanan there is some surface rust on the back side of the front cover where the factory paint missed the metal. I will treat this when its apart and fix the paint so it lasts another 10 years 😁

I'm interested in how the rebuild will go.. I find it hard to hear the sound of bearing failure from this video. I hear noisy washing machine as the W3725 seems to have very little sound proofing compared to older models (W360 or W377).

This is not a bearing problem, if it was it would be noisy even at the end of the spin cycle. The bearings don't give any problems. What I could hear is the fact that the water suds are not pumped out quick enough. Reason being is a blocked vent tube causing an air lock in the filter housing. Take the front off and remove the 1/2 inch hose on the left side of the filter housing. Blow through it and make sure it's clear. In hard cases the left side panel has to be removed. Take the hose off and clean it. Reason for this build up is low temperature washing etc. Change your washing habits.

Interesting to know. I always did use cold washing mode. I have recently started using warmer settings. I also neglected to do the occasional boiling hot self cleaning mode so definitely could be an issue.

Have you already made a washing machine repair video? Generally, I will have to look into the drum... and I am looking for a video with the most effective disassembly of the drum (and replacement of bearings)

all this time later its working perfectly. For what its worth and the age of the unit now i’ll probably just buy a new washer and dryer when it dies properly. They are around 15 years old now

Hi, thanks for the video. It's not clear that the bearing is at fault from the video. The springs and pistons looks loose though?

i ended up not changing these bearings, all these years later its still going. I think maybe the noise was soap or crud build up from not ever doing hot washes. Now all my washes are 75c and never heard the noise again.

unblock the small pipes under the detergent drawer your machine has issues its pipes are blocked thats why keeps water during spining phase

I have received the bearing kit for my washing machine - the only seller online provided non genuine “kok” brand seal and what appears to be china bearings. I wont fit this crap unless absolutely necessary. If it gets worse i’ll seek out the genuine miele kit. Or at the very least buy decent european or japanese bearings.

All this time later its still going. Its getting noiser. I was not pleased with the ebay bearings and seal being china copies. If had access to genuine parts would do it preemptively. Not keen on fitting rubbish that will fail again in a short period of time, wasting my time and effort. I definitely will revisit with genuine parts if it gets louder.

This sound is normal from a Miele, that’s not a bearing failure...this washing machine works properly. Mine is 14 years old and did the same noise when it was 2... and there it is, from 2006 to 2020 and working as the day I boughts.

There is defintely a loud bearing howl when the drum is full only - i didnt capture it properly on the day. I've not changed it out anyway and left it for the time being - The bearings and seals i purchased on ebay unknowingly were china crap - if i fit those it would probably fail completely after 1 year so ill leave it alone. If i do change them i will use genuine parts, or if its in a few more years ill probably just buy a new miele.

Bekir Karakulak it is still working fine - most people would ignore or not notice the early warning signs and continue using the machine for years before it became a real problem. I notice these things and take action before it becomes an issue. This machine is more than 10 years old, If I originally bought samsung for example like my neighbours who built at the same time as me i would be on my third one by now like them. I absolutely will only buy Miele in future. While it costs double or more to purchase it lasts more than twice as long and has MB of yesterday’s build quality (today’s MB, i don’t respect at all)
