Changing the bearrings on a Miele W 8115, part 1/2

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is the first part of my restauration vid. The bearring on this Miele were broken.
Unfortunately, I had a lot of pictures and only few vids.
Special thanks to the repairman, who helped me a bit. Without him the old bearrings would have never come out lol
Enjoy ;)

For all those who are changing the bearings in their Miele machines, you had better make sure that the aluminum spider supper that is attached to the inner washing tub did not corrode and break. This is the most common cause for changing the bearings. As an engineer the root cause to all front load washers failing is due to the spider support corroding and cracking. You will need to order a new inner wash drum from Miele which comes with the spider supports and shaft mounted.

Finally one who could pinpoint the real problem... Thanks! Many are saying that the spider is that big chunk of metal. But that's not the spider, the spider is on the inside drum. And it is usually made out of aluminium alloy. (Believe it or not, it will corrode no mater what) Miele stopped using steel spiders from long time ago...when they saw that they have no problems with their machines. So to the fanboys that just got a Miele please stop saying that you heard somebody having a Miele that's working for 20+ years...it is not representative anymore. Then were built to last, now not anymore.

@MatteoGeromin Thanks! I brought the tub to a technician, who removed the bearings with a special 'bearing puller'. ;) The bearings are universal, but the Seal between drum and bearings is not universal.

Yeah, carbon from brushes really does influence on inner surface and machine functionality and has to be removed )))) Anyway good job, this device was manufactured to work for ages.Lucky to remove rusty bearings safely, without leaving of outer bearing race in the insert

Did you live the ball bearings or use sealant when putting the new bearings in?

Also how did you go about cleaning the drum? Did you just pressure wash the unit or wipe it down?

Nice work. My elderly neighbor's 10 year old Electrolux has a broken cast aluminum spinner. I'm afraid that it's to be junked because the part is sold with the tube and Electrolux wants almost as much for the part as half the cost of a new machine. There is a lot to be said for German engineering.

So I am going to undertake this same similar project on a Miele washer. I was wondering where you got your instruction list for doing this and if you would be will to share that with us? Great video!

@integrin1978 Theoretically carbon can cause electrical breakdown, but only in case of heavy deposit, which cover open board, but it is obviously in casing and protected safely from dust

Nah.. You can change the sleeve, but it's not necessary. It's been almost 2 years and the bearrings still sound like new ;) But, the shaft wasn't damaged, so I left it the way it was ;)

@integrin1978 Hehe... Well, carbon dust can affect circuit boards and such, so the fewer carbon dust, the better ;-)

Can you shed any light on how you removed the axel from the bearings (between day 1 and day 2 with help)

For that, a friend used a ‘pulley extractor’ to remove it.

great job!!! how did you remove bearings? i have your same problem and very similar washing machine...and I want to repair it by myself. how much the bearings costs? are they universal or only Miele original bearings fits?

Als ik jou was, zou ik gewoon even langs het onderdelenhuis gaan (Europart of iets dergelijks). Die zoeken precies de goede lagers en de goede simmering erbij.

Hello, I have a Miele 3035 washing machine. I pulled out the inner drum by accident, I think the drum was off axis and make a lot noise. What should I do? Please help me, thanks!

@@Wiljannn Thanks, I hope it is just a rivet fall off. Can I use glue if the drum spider is broken? The washing machine is still like new.

Gidday folks could anyone someone email me with the written directions that appear at the beginning of this tutorial. I have tried to magnify but still unable to read. The written instructions would be great for changing the bearings. I am a female LOL. Many thanks if possible. 🐨North Brisbane Queensland Australia

wtf bij 2:37, Zo zien de lagers van mijn WT745 ook er uit, verroest en er zit bij mij een gat in omdat ik met een bijtel de lagers er uitgeslagen heb.
