For all those that watched my on-ride footage who wanted to know what the cars looked like, here is some off ride footage and a photo of the cars. They are small and open and for safety you just have a seatbelt across your lap. That's it. Now...who is feeling scared to ride with no brakes??

It was so pure watching those adults zoom by in the miniature karts with a big grin on their faces.
Doesn't looks as scary from this angle. The inside the car video was terrifying.

In real life the experience was actually scarier than it looks on the video :-) The wide-angled lens of the camcorder tends to understate the depth of drops - it was far steeper than it looked!

@@davidjellis what's with pissing contest, who gives a shit how many coasters you have been on.
every time ive been on this i always end up being stuck behind that one person that rides the break at 10 mph all the way down..

Yes, I can bet that is really frustrating...that's one of the problems with this type of ride, you need a bit of luck!

Yah I was thinking the same. In reality, these things could easily be designed without the need for manual breaks like most coasters. And looking at your video, it almost seems like it was. I think giving the rider a certain level of control is part of the idea but ends up ruining the experience for most.

Just give them all no brakes and deaccelerate appron ;) and a waver

Here there is a ride, where you should indicate if you want to go slow to the operator. They will leave a bigger gap behind you. (And then I inform the operator that I wont use the brake, so they also let me run a bit later.
Congrats on getting your "No brakes" video linked to their website! You held your camera the whole way down? Excellent footage!
"Good grief there's loads of em!"
Rubber duck, 10-4, we got ourselves a CONVOY!
These alpine coasters are ridiculously intense and aggressive. Extreme Ejector Airtime and some of the strongest laterals ever. WITH JUST A FREAKING SEAT BELT.

This looks like SOOOO much fun!!! I wish we had something like this here!!
Its two in one, rollercoaster and really quick spine-readjustment :D
Great job filming on & off the track! I really enjoyed it with envy :)

NO TEXTING while COASTING!
I swear, if one of these rides was themed, like with sets and props scattered around the track and such, I'd bet it would make for an even more amazing experience. Though I imagine riding down a hill in this tiny little car is thrilling alone.
In the U.S. they'll have to have roll cages, brakes, full back and neck support, shoulder and waist straps, and spaced between cars so there isn't less than a 1 minute interval between cars; taking a LOT of the enjoyment out of the ride.

This looks awesome! I would love to do this. I want to go to Austria anyway, what beautiful scenery. Thanks for the vid.
Wow, a rollercoaster that you sit on just your own solo seat? That would so scare the living daylights out of me. I'd try it--but I'd scream my head off the whole way through...

I hope you enjoyed watching it...even if in reality it would get you screaming :-)
So I wonder who and how frequently someone is inspecting all of that track lol wow. Good thing you don't have to put your feet out on the ground to slow down
Hopefully they don't modify the carriages to prevent excessive speeding because this went straight to the top of my bucket list! Well done!
Aaah looks awesome I really want to go on it!!
I have watched it 3 times already.... It is AMAZING!
That looks like SO much fun!!
Well, i can only dream of having such fun.... Nice video btw

This is awesome! I badly want to ride this! Looks like real fun!
That looks SO fun!
I came here (to this video) to see what the ride vehicle actually looks like because the POV footage makes it seem like the person is sitting on a skateboard. Well it turns out they're sitting in a big roller skate lol. I'd love this btw.

Hey there, Thanks for the reply. I am glad . this looks like a who lotta fun!
Must not be too many personal injury attorneys in Austria like we have in the US. We would NEVER get something this cool.

You have alpine coasters in the USA - just shorter ones and not so much fun! Most of the newer ones have magnetic brakes that are automatic so it has killed the fun of them :-(
This looks like a Lot of Fun!!! =D
looks fun + dangerous sign me up
These do exist in the US. Ski resorts tend to build them so they can have some kind of attraction in the summer months. I know there is one at Chestnut mountain in Galena, IL. I would venture a guess that there are some at other ski resorts in better known skiing areas like Colorado.
awesome design, the ones I've ridden in Oregon and Wyoming have little concrete bobsleigh like tracks
OMG How FUN!
This is so amazing 💞 wish to have this coster ride in bangladesh 😅
@HVYMETL These Alpine coasters exist in at least 3 places in Colorado: Winter Park, Breckenridge and in Glenwood Springs (I have done all three). Participating is at your own risk, just like snow skiing.
0:45 it looked like she face planted into rocks haha

Yes! I got surprised for a moment
Looks like so much fun! The thing I'm really curious about is how they get the cars back to the top again?! Do they take them off the track and put them on the chair lift?!
It's fun. I'd like to ride it.
I've never ridden this one, but the one alpine coaster I have ridden (a bit different than this) just had rubber break pads that made contact with the chute. The one I was on was actually a trough and the car laid inside of it and didn't lock to a rail of any kind. The rider could control the speed by pulling a lever which lowered the brakes or puled it back which retracted the brakes and raised wheels. If you use the brakes too much, then they would become useless as you inferred.
amazing car stays on tracks with all that weight. cool.
@davidjellis

The cars are secured to the track with under-wheels so they cannot come off
This looks absolutely wonderfull and your no brakes video looks genuinely scary and fun at the same time. how fast can those cars go?
Would love a go on this.
@Devilishlybenevolent if you read more closely, he said he didn't use the brakes on his recorded run, not that there wasn't a brake lever.
Please tell me, I am not the only one, who acts and feels like the prettiest person on earth while riding a roller coaster
That looks so much fun.

How do they get the carts back to the top????
How long did your "no brakes" run take from start to finish? And how much does it cost per run? Good videos!
cool that is very cool
@davidjellis ohh but that sucks!!! there should be a certain period of time between each ride hehe
i want to ride this a million times
Nice to see they added seatbelts, just hope everyone puts them on tight.
@davidjellis in 05!? wow, and i thought this was something new that was going to take over the world lol
@beggersrun I expect that they hang them on the outside of the up-going cable cars or something - That's how skis and bicycles are usually transported to the top.
Ohgosh this looks absolutely fun yet terrifying at the same time ... how do u stop at the end of the coaste?!
@davidjellis

The car has brakes, but I just didn't use them all the way down, just at the very end. It was a LOT of fun, but also quite scary, especially as I had no idea how safe it would be to ride it without slowing down! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Awesome, but how do they get all the cars back to the top?
God I need to try this
you can barely see the seat belts! i wish this was in Canada! it would be great in the Lake of the woods area in ontario/manitoba, or obviously BC or Alberta! Awesome video too!
awesome

This one is in Austria...there are lots of them in the Alpine region of Europe although there are a few scattered all over the world - see this list www.aceonline.org/census/AlpineCoasters.htm
This is so cool. Is it possible to ride this without ever using the brakes?
@davidjellis
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, providing you have a clear run ahead of you...but you DO need to brake at the end of the track!
@ARealWiseGuys; In my language we call them "slope cat" or "slope treader" :) They work as uphill climbers in the summertime and skiing slope treaders in winter.
are there any chance to fall off when riding on it?? wanna try some=)
agh buzz kill... would be awesome if they went over 100! I saw your video with no brakes and it looked much faster than that.
Those jerks that happen in the begging and/or end of some of the turns are intentional or did the ground settle after the construction or somthing like that?
Kann es sein das da in der Nähe das salzbergwerk ist da war ich glaube mal
I just want to know how they get the cars back to the top!
is there one of these in the us? id love to ride one but they are so far away
We have like "bobbaner" in Norway. It's the same thing and I love them. But... I have a problem. I am terrified of rollercoasters with loops and that kind of stuff. I haven't taken one loop in my entire life although I've been at Tusenfryd countless times. It's so anoying! Any tricks from your side????
@davidjellis
10 жыл бұрын
No tricks really...it's one of those things I think you can only really overcome by just doing it. Perhaps think about WHY you are scared of them...what exactly is it that you are worried about...write it down, and then examine it closely and you will see that in reality they are just irrational - the biggest risk you ever take when visiting a theme park is actually driving there...the coasters are tested for safety daily!
Thanks, I was wondering what the car looked like. It isn't much! Have there been any accidents on it? What if the wheels broke off or something? Or the seatbelt breaks?

some little girl had her body turned into a lump of jello because she stopped on the track and a guy blaster her from behind. I think her head touched the back of the cart lolol. She spend the remainder of the ride going down it with her body drooped over the side of the cart.
Might be boring to some people but could you post any video of the cars going back up the mountain?
How does this rails come back up ?
how do they get the cars back up to the start?
They write somewhere there is a 25mph limiting brake in the system and your manual brake. What is the feeling, are there more than 25mph?
had something like this robin hoods bay uk great fun not as long as this but same thing great fun
I was waiting for someone to fall off !!!
0:45 highway to heeelll

where is this, i wanna go there this summer?
