That takes guts…
That looks like ultimate floater airtime. Thanks for taking the leap and thanks for posting!
LOL - it didn't feel like floating though...strange feeling - but travelling at 125mph straight down for 35 seconds just felt like being in a wind tunnel but with better views 🙂
@@davidjellis Wow: neat! Thanks for describing it to me!
Hello! Could I use this footage in an upcoming video? I will give full credit and link your channel in the description
That should be fine...it's unlikely my MCN (Brave Bison) will claim copyright for a video with just 3.2k views - Please credit David Ellis and provide a link to the channel. Cheers.
Hello! Could I use this footage in an upcoming video? I would give full credit and link your channel in the description :)
That should be fine...technically I would normally need to check with my MCN (Brave Bison)...but as they only tend to monitor use of my most viewed videos, any third party use of this one (with just 89k views) is unlikely to be claimed by them. Please credit David Ellis and provide a link to the channel. Cheers.
Do parachute plane pilots get lonely on the way down?
Probably not - it's only a few minutes after all. What I found funny was when they did the safety drill before we went up - they explained what the process was if the plane had an emergency (which has never happened)...anyway, he explained that if we were at low altitude we would adopt the brace position, however if we were high enough we would simply "bail out using the parachutes and leave the pilot to figure it out himself" - I thought that was funny!
@@davidjellis That is funny!
Wonderful jump David. I got to ask you. Would it rate next to some of the best coasters you have ever ridden? You are adventurous in every sense of the word Dave. Well done~ Rob/Boston
It's hard to compare to any roller coaster ride experience to be honest...very different feeling. What I can say is that this really got my adrenaline flowing and I was on a real buzz afterwards...I can't recall the last roller coaster that gave me the same buzz, apart from the no brakes alpine coaster at Mieders. This has been on my to-do list ever since I did static line jumping around 30 years ago, and I am sure I will do another...it can be addictive, adrenaline!
Who is here after upsc preperations
Damn that was such a fun f'n ride.
I have never seen a wacky worm coaster with tunnels. Very cool David. Good to hear that it is still operating at another park to this day~ Rob/Boston
There were only three wacky worm coasters to feature a turntable and this is the only one left...we didn't see the turntable operate at this park. It was cool to ride a standard coaster model that had so many unique adaptations - quite a rarity!
No amount of money will convince me to ride this
Wow this video is certainly unique, great pov David
This the wacky worm coaster
I was there in 2002, aged 22 and saw this crash in person watching it again gives me the chills. Glad the pilot made it out alive and was subsequently rescued. The cause of the crash was pilot error loss of thrust due to selecting the wrong setting, forcing the pilot to eject.
So rare
I love how they integrated the scenery with the coaster.
Do you remember the walkthrough pirate ship attraction at this park? It was closed in 2005. I am looking for the lost photos that once existed on the lost website adventureislandguide
I don't think I visited the park pre 2006 - I do remember some kind of walk-through but it was a long time ago and I am not sure about it, sorry.
@@davidjellis Thank you for responding. I have been collecting a lot of old adventure island photos to help preserve them but this is an attraction which seems to have been lost in time sadly.
I can cleary see why people loved this ride more. It felt like you were actually test subjects that was possibly going to crash if something went wrong Of course you dont really crash you just automatically stop in 2 secs by a castmember
Pretty neat
Fast Rider
Damn OP is still actively replying to comments over 12 years after this video dropped
I can't understand channel owners who DON'T acknowledge and respond - regardless of whether the video is old or new - it's just being polite and respectful to people who took the time to watch the video and comment. Thanks for posting.
Ugly B&M Wooden Coaster Trains
good job they were the only woodie trains they made then 🙂
Gorgeous grainy footage
classic analogue footage 🙂
Mulholland madness Opened: February 8th 2001 Closed: October 12th 2010
It was just rethemed and now runs under a different name - it still operates
Just heard this ride was closing for good :( I went on it when I was in Stockholm, it was absolutely awesome
Agree - very sad - but after the accident last year I can understand the park's decision - was an excellent coaster in its prime
Thank you SO MUCH for documenting my first roller coaster!!!
Pleased you enjoyed it 🙂
This is the most horrific drop tower ever it feels short but it is actually not it falls so fast and suddenly it feels like a real broken thing but its not
Great description 🙂
@@davidjellis I doubt that you mean it😭
@@JustHaromi I was intrigued by your description, but get totally what you mean 🙂
Must be a fun time when there are no slow pokes there taking their sweet time. Never been on one of these but I imagine being stuck behind someone using the brakes would frustrate me to no end.
Yes - that's exactly how it feels 🙂 You just have to be lucky or persuade the operator to leave an extra long gap in front of you
hi just asking but do you have any other HoBs PiT footage? I can find anything online!
This is the only other footage I have kzread.info/dash/bejne/hHaNsNOTabivpLQ.html
@@davidjellis thanks!
Hilarious timing considering what is happening to this coaster now. Really cool offride shots!
Timing was deliberate...I saw the announcement this week and checked to see what footage I had that hadn't yet been uploaded. It was a great coaster, but totally understand the park's decision.
I love how it did a big out and back only to join up with the top of the lift hill of a traveling coaster.
which travelling coaster are you referring to Jim?
@@davidjellis This one. I just watched a POV of it recently.
@@riparianlife97701 This one never travelled - was at the park from new in 1988
@@davidjellis Right, but the main part was built like a traveler, after the initial out and back, including a curved lift. Contrast that with Revolution, at SFMM, that had almost all individual supports.
@@riparianlife97701 Agree, it is reminiscent of the big travelling Schwarzkopfs, but this one has never travelled. Its slightly older twin did have one relocation (from Japan to UK) but again was never a travelling coaster in the traditional sense (fairs etc)...it does resemble those big travelling rides though I do admit
It was a unique and historic ride. It’s a shame it had to go.
agreed - one of my favourite steel coasters at the time
Instead Of Looking To Re-Locate It.... First Knightmare , And Now Jetline.... 2 Clones..... Now Extinct....
sad I know...never rode Knightmare, so that's one I missed
Thank you for this great video! Colorado Adventure is my absolute favorite attraction! ❤ It's always interesting to see how it has changed visually over time. I'm already looking forward to my next ride through the mountains. 😍🥰😊
pleased you enjoyed the video - it's a great ride 🙂
Rip Jetline
See you in heaven.
Didn't know it would be closing because of last year's incident. :(
This made me hate roller coasters. I learned what whiplash is after this 😫
old style corkscrews are not the most comfortable experience to be fair - you need to try some of the newer rides and re-evaluate your views :-)
I honestly see why they stopped doing this, I’m surprised they never provided safety gear.
I didn't realise it was no longer offered as an upgrade - was an amazing experience...and they were pretty hot on health & safety really...it never felt unsafe at all but does rely on people acting sensibly of course.
Thing I learned from watching a Marcel Vos video that explains information found by Deurklink (specifically kzread.info/dash/bejne/q2x3y8eeqdCchsY.html ): in RCT, if a ride is 25 years old, it's given the "monument" status, which boosts its value, though not to the same extent that it was when it was brand-new. Incidentally, Raging Bull turned 25 on May 1 this year. Happy belated anniversary! 😉
Who is here after sudarshan gurjar sir video of Geyser in Geography Lecture. Love from India 🇮🇳 🌋
Hope you enjoyed the video
I’ve already rode all the rides at img world so nothing scary about this ride
Not even scary to be honest
well it is designed to be a family coaster 🙂
Is their music for the ride back then, because I don't hear the California screamin theme
You can't hear it on that video - it's audible on this one kzread.info/dash/bejne/o56mssOEp8fbYNo.html
This is apparently coming to The Hoppings this year and looks awesome. Is it intense as it looks or is it a chill out ride like a normal Freak Out ride?
It's pretty intense from memory!
@@davidjellis thanks mate which case I'm running straight to it :D
REST IN PEACE
Is it closing permanently...I know it is going to be closed all season this year but wasn't sure if that was a permanent closure?
This coaster lies right next to the highway. Is Gothenburg a busy city area like Boston? I would love to know~ Rob/Boston
It's much smaller than Boston...a busy city I suppose but you don't notice this when in the park. One of the best city parks around, along with Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen
I loved all of the alternate angles David. The last one close to the back was the best. You can really get a feel for the ton of airtime. Those headchoppers are some of the best around. Very pleased that you picked it as one of your top ten coasters of all time. So well deserved~ Rob/Boston
Lots of great head-choppers and crazy airtime on Balder - rode it last year and was just as good 🙂 Was interested in which POV people enjoyed best so thanks for the comments.
The drops were way deeper than I thought they were when I first went on this😅
You tend to find that the drops are steeper than they look on video...mainly due to use of wider angle lenses that make the drops look far shallower than real life
First
Ssc cgl 2024 questions in India 😅😅
Rip blue streak
Indeed - all very sad
the ocean is so amazing to me. It contains all the energy of the earth's winds. Without wind, the ocean would be a perfectly still glassy pond.
