Lol, I literally said out loud “oh no” when it was said the grooves were being filled. I would have loved to see these added to the other drawers.

I agree. The different patterned drawers are part of the mid century vibe and she covered it up.

That really looks super high end. Great job! That poor, unloved $5 dresser is a work of art now.

Applying wall paper was a BOLD MOVE. You are a brave woman! Bravo!

Love! I get why that piece was passed over for so long at the Restore. All it needed was a creative genius to come by and give it some TLC. Amazing vision!

I truly appreciate your soothing voice and secondly your talent and good taste.

Just a recommendation, when I fill lines like you were I put some in a bag and cut the corner to fill it in like cake icing then smooth it with a putty knife. Might help and is faster for me. Hope that helps.

What a beauty!! I can't believe you scored it for $5!! I was at my Habitat on Thursday and the cheapest dresser was $40. That was the uprights. The side by sides were $90.

Same here! Most of the stuff is way overpriced.

Love the texture from the wall paper! Filling in those lines is tricky! I just did the same on a side table. Filled them and painted table top. It looked perfect....until I top coated it last night! Little bit of shadowing where the lines are. Not perfect, but still looks better than when it started! Love the wall paper idea💖💖💖

It’s always tricky! Usually with a few coats of primer and paint you can camouflage old hardware holes but I was worried that with all those lines I didn’t stand a chance 🥴

You classed it up, I love the transformation . As usual you are an inspiration. It was nice for a change to see Country Chic used. It’s my go to paint since I am a neighbor to B.C. (Seattle) and I love the product.

I love the color and hardware, but I can’t say I’m a big fan of the addition of the paper. I think the grooves on the drawers should have been left, it would have looked much nicer. Also if the small round hardware was left on some of the drawers would looked much better. I feel like you removed some of its mid century modern charm.

My husband has done many a furniture restoration. He has learned to slip a piece of paper between the block and the veneer when clamping a glued veneer. Great show as usual. So calming .

The piece is so sleek & glamorous ... the dark navy .. the subtle gold pulls .. the soft texture of the drawer fronts ... chic. ... elevates any decor !

Well done Katie! I was against the wallpaper (literally shouting at the TV screen) but I was gladly proven wrong upon seeing the final product. I would pay $300 for that dresser. Excellent work.

I had Bassett dressers from same time period as yours. I decoupaged fabric and wallpaper to the drawers. Looked great. The set was from my in-laws who got them in the ‘50s and we had them at least 30 years. They turned out great! Just sent them on to another DIYer.

Those wallpapers from Lowe’s are the best!! I’ve used them on a couple of projects to cover areas that are not smooth-able. Such an easy fix!
