Yeah - out with the shabby and in with the chic!!!
I've recently realised I prefer chic to shabby so this kind of spoke to my heart lol. well done
Finally someone doing the work without telling me their husband did the cutting their husband did this their husband did that. I am a widow I don’t have a husband and I’m always discouraged when I see a project and some of the steps are done by the husband. Thank you so much. I have never made a comment on any you to pieces but you inspired me and gave me hope

Oh DeeDee. I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. I do rely on mine a lot for help with the power tools, but I'm trying to get him to teach me so I can teach you. I have a lot of single mamas in my life, so I never want anyone to feel they need a husband to do my projects. Thank you for watching. ❤️

I have a husband and I can’t trust him to screw in a lightbulb! I watched videos, bought all sorts of power tools and picked a bunch of little projects like boxes, planters...etc. I messed up ALOT but learned in the process. Just do it and have fun!
You are darling and so is that night stand. Happy painting.

@@debretaevans8049 right lol. I also can't stand farmhouse... Like wtf that all looks like country bumpkin shizz a bit too much to me for my liking. I'm personally more into a glam, light blush dusty rose, black, grey & white color scheme.

I like this makeover!
Super nice and lovely!
I just finished my second project-a 25 year-old oak colored dresser which was meant for a baby/young child’s room (one of the 2 dressers you can attach a changing table to). Anyway, we separated the 2 dressers-one we keep in our daughter’s bedroom (for when she visits) and the second one in the guest bedroom. I painted the one in our daughter’s room “Fluff” by Dixie Belle but primed it first with Slick Stick. I wish I would have watched this video first to know that sanding between primers is okay to do. I applied 2 layers of primer and 3 layers of Fluff, only sanding between paint layers. When I tackle the next dresser, I’ll definitely sane between primer layers! Thank you! (And I love your ‘I just want to drink coffee and paint furniture’ tee-shirt!)
Very pretty change
I only use clear coat in matte also, it's what I would want in my house so... Great turn around piece.
Love it. Fantastic job! Greetings from Los Angeles
Nice work, you are very inspiring!
Beautiful 💛
I think it is totally worth the energy you put into the nightstand; you’re saving something from landfill and giving it new life to be enjoyed for years to come

I would’ve never thought to do that. It looks awesome.
Nice job, I like how you sand in between coats. Most people don't understand the concept of prep, a tip that might help for brushing is to use extenders in your paint. . Helps the open time for stroking, it also self levels like an oil base. Great for water based products to look smoother. . Enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing. .
@Mereship

That’s a really good tip! Do you use any specific kind? How much of it do you use? What kind of brush do you use with that?
@julioaguirre553
3 жыл бұрын
@@Mereship There are a few options of extenders on the market, Floetrol and XIM are 2 readily available ones that you can get at almost any paint supply store. Nylox brushes made by Purdy are probably the smoothest on the market for trim/ cabinetry, woodwork. . Be careful how much extender you put in, depending on humidity and temp they can very easily run away from you. Make sure the container says water based products.. With your skill level, I think you might be ready to be spraying to coats. It leaves factory finish which then gives room for pricing your pieces higher for sale, Graco has a Dewalt battery operated hand gun that is amazing. It's a little pricey, but investing in one will pay off. You can purchase a 208 fine finish tip that goes on the gun, that'll make any paint job pop like no other. The clean up on those are very simple, thanks for your response. I've been painting for over 25 years, from auto restoration to fine woodwork. Look forward to your next projects, take care.

This video inspired me to refinish a dresser I got on market place. Finally found one that fit in our room but it was dated. My husband cut off the bottom like you did and we ordered some decorative wooden legs 🦵 and it turned out beautifully. I did another piece and gave it a more modern leg and its amazing how paint and new legs can update your furniture. Thank you very much.
Truly amazing! What an inspiration!

You inspired me to try this. I got my piece and cut off the bottom skirt. I have just added the new base and am prepping for the new hairpin legs. Thanks for the inspiration!!
What an outstanding video! The project was excellent. The explanation wasn't overly wordy and you included the reasons for each step. I love the the bar at the bottom that explains what portion of the project is on the screen. Your information under the video was thorough and helpful. I can't say enough about the excellence of the project and the presentation. With all that said, my absolute favorite part was Murphy. I love design. I love makeovers. But I love dogs more than almost anything. And I'm a long-time poodle mama, so you can see why I was captivated by Murphy. I subscribed.
