Thx Simon for allowing Russ to show your lesson. Alot of us amateur golfers suffer from the same "over the top" move, and we get to see how Russell shows you (us) how to correct it.
Russell, does same apply to the Driver??
Bryson Dechambeau has an incredible INSIDE move into the ball. Tees it HIGH and lets it FLY. Also, he has a great Jack Nicklaus inspired "HOVER" over the ball before starting the swing.

thought it wasnt a slide forward with the hips in the downswing, but a left hip back?

yes...left hip away from the ball with rotation...is my understanding...
