Quite simply one of the fastest 5k road races anywhere in the country. We would love you to join us at our lightning-quick 5k in a fantastic location in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. This course was the fastest in the UK in 2018 & has course records of 13.45 (m) & 15.28 (f).
The race starts & finishes on nearby Ball Lane where a full rolling road closure will allow you to concentrate on the race & not the oncoming traffic. In only four years this race has cemented itself into the national road racing calendar with runners traveling from across the country to take part & has twice recently staged the England Athletics 5k Road Race championships.
Special thanks to highperformancerunner.com for their footage contribution at the finish line.

Make sure you mix outdoor with indoor running. Outdoor running improves treadmill running massively, but it doesn't work the other way around in my experience. Treadmills don't work you calf and achilles which is where most of your forward drive comes from.

What a wonderful race and video! It popped up in youtube and I thought I'll give it a watch .. the start was fast and I thought the guy in the green and white had a steady and graceful stride ... my money was on him! But, there was something addicitive about Jack's rhythm, cadence and style ... I also thought, surely he can't keep this up! I have watched and rewatched many times, and each time I still can't help but smile! What a performance! I love the fact that he really isn't racing against anyone but himself; frequent checks on the wrist for pace .... adjustments made to match his plan ... there is a moment late in the race, where he picks the pace up and Jack's form is just so elegant ... A joy to watch. Thanks for sharing.

This form is great. I use the same form. You save energy cause depending on how much you lean forward, well fall forward you let gravity take you a little faster. You are also bounding essentially with each step while trying to keep the cadence up which is controlled by your tilt. The arms are for both the drive and balance and you keep them totally loose. Same with the shoulders but brace your core and run tall. Looks a little weird to some but you save energy. You just need to train up to hold the form for long distances at good paces.
