Microsoft Band 2 | Bypass Setup process after Factory Reset / Without Microsoft Health app

Ever since Microsoft shut down the Microsoft Health platform, Band owners could still use a Microsoft Band 2 unless they performed a factory reset, in which case there was no way to complete the "OOBE" setup process.
UPD: Now works also with Microsoft Band 1 !!!
Steps:
1. Make sure your Band is at least half way charged up and on the setup screen, asking you for either the language or the kind of phone you have.
2. On your band: Choose the type of phone you have. You need to choose the correct phone OS.
3. Go through the pairing process with your phone. Use the system utility for this (usually the settings app) as the official app won't get you to that point.
At the end your band should say something along the lines of "Pairing sucess!"
4. Connect your band to your PC with the USB cable and start up the unlocker tool. On the top left the OOBE Status should read "In Setup" and your device name as well as the serial number should be listed there.
If your band wasn't detected you can try hitting "Search for Band" in the top left corner.
You are trying this way at your own risk. In my case it works properly.

Note: You still won’t be able to sync the band with a phone, receive smartphone notifications, view mail, weather, or calendar information. But you can still use on-device functions for step counting, heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and VO2 Max measurement.

I REALLY miss my Microsoft band. I used to find it the most accurate device by far. Is there a replacement for the microsoft health app that can be used? I wish Microsoft didn't give up on this so bad...

someones gone all out to disable this app. LOVE THAT YOU CARE ABOUT THE E-WASTE MICROSOFT. its very much disabled. after i finally got passed all ms warnings and got it loaded the detect band button is missing..stuck in oobe mode

wish i still had mine. i bought the band v1..they crippled it in favor of the band2. got the band2..they crippled it..just for kicks it seems.

@sensei yes it does not connect through usb. I have done it lot of time. shows the same error, band does not connect.

can i get my microsoft band unlocked. never used it n now i ca,e to know that the software is gone. please help.

Win10 wont allow to download the app its mark as with virus :-(
I tried and the application seems to no longer work, anyone else having the same problem?
