The Cortana app for Android works with the mic, and you can respond to texts and calls from the watch. Also, you didn't show off the Bluetooth audio control functionality. (not a fan boy, just an IT guy that uses it and find it meets my needs)

A few things .. You fail to mention the band comes in 3 sizes .. makes it possible to get one for small wrists .. Also the battery life is more like 3 days not two .. It warns you of incoming calls witch is nice especially if your phone is on silent . You can make fast responses to SMS directly from the wrist ( responses can be edited in the app ). The gps feature works great and you do not need your phone around when you go running ( I like that . I can just leave the phone in the car and go running in the woods ) When you come back it will auto sync the run to your phone and you can watch your route and check all sorts of info .. You can edit all the apps on the band to be in whatever order you like which is nice especially for your messaging info .. Just place them right at the swipe and you will see your notifications without having to scroll through the lot .. It is a really nice piece of tech. Especially the GPS and light water resistance ..

I get 3 full days when I use it as a phone companion.. gps is hard on any gadget but when recharge time is this fast it's all right ..

@MobileTechReview - You can turn the screen on with the power button, then cycle through stats by clicking the action button... rather than pressing and then having to swipe through them.

Hi Lisa, i dont know if it REALLY matters now, but when you connect it to the windows phone and download the app for the band on the phone, you can change the order of the apps and the color of the theme to make the os more custom.

+sir Ivan I saw the review from flossy. I'm about two weeks in and haven't had my gear fir 2 fall of yet. I was picking up my daughter and her but slid on my wrist which loss ended it but it didn't fall off. Lisa I had to send my band 2 back because the straps kept tearing. Have you experienced this. Checking online it seems to happen a lot.

I think this review is a bit rushed and incomplete. 1. You can "push" custom workouts to your Band from the companion app. The Band then will guide you through the workout with onscreen instructions and haptic feedback. Custom workouts are available from third parties such as Gold's Gym or you can create your own. This is the single most useful feature. No fitness band I know have anything like it. 2. Third party app connector built in. So if you are running/biking - you can sync your activity with Runkeeper or Strava. It can also sync with nutrition tracking app MyFitnessPal that creates suggested calorie intake based on your activity. 3. Microsoft Heath Web Dashboard is where all the tracking data come alive. Data analysis predicts your recovery time and VO2Max. These are just a few highlights of what this device is capable of. This isn't a "me too" fitness band - this is a category defining device!

I love your videos, however, I've owned this pretty product since it came out (not a couple of months ago, it came out in November) and I feel you missed some areas. I think Microsoft gets too much flack with the Band, this, to me, is the best fitness tracker. I routinely see websites omit this from their fitness tracker lists and I don't get it. You get tons of sensors and you can download workouts to the band AND you can make your own workouts and put them on the Band (your didn't mention that so I wasn't sure if you were aware of it). I think you had a band that was too large for you and that would definitely throw the heart rate sensor off. I do admit the battery life is horrible but I don't find it uncomfortable at all, there are far more uncomfortable trackers out there (I actually hated the Apple Watch, way over priced and it pulled my arm hairs all the time). All that being said, I admit im a bit if a Microsoft fan boy. ☺

I don't recommend the Microsoft Band 2 at all. I got mine in Jan 2016, and it's on its way back to Microsoft for the 3rd time in 8 months. The issue is the band itself begins to crack at flex points where the metal and the band are merged. Once the band cracks, the water resistance integrity is gone out the window. It seem to last about 4 months (since April is when I got the one sitting on my desk now...which im about to ship back this evening for the above reason) before it fails. Microsoft should have integrated all the electronics in the actual display area, and made the band from a more durable rubber material.

Lisa, you scoffingly say that Microsoft Band 2 is fitness band and kind of a smart watch wannabe. Is it ever advertised as a smart watch at all? It is advertised as strictly a fitness band, and just because it includes some features of a smartphone doesn't make it one nor does it make it a "wannabe" smart watch. To use an analogy: you buy a car that has a nice speaker system with MP3 and DVD player (for kids or such), do you call it a car that's a wannabe home theater? No one in their right mind would call a car with those features a wanna be home theater, because logic dictates that the car maker simply went out of their way to add nice features to the car they make. To follow through, then, why make such remarks of any other product? Review it just as it is, a fitness band, that just happens to have extra features. I think you owe it to your viewers to be subjective about tech since the other option (feel like I need to spell it out..Objective) can be just anyone's opinion. Thank you

good band horrible hardware quality. i exchanged over 6 band 2 in less than 1 year of usage the band will shut down and die on me. i like the touch screen control, it's easy to navigate. the backing up data sucks, it takes a long time to sync, or backup and it will have to wipe all the data on the band if you are getting a new cellphone or reinstall the health app. i hope they fix it on their band 3.
