You don’t ‘run for Prime Minister’ as the PM is the leader of one of the two major political parties and they each have a process for electing their leaders. Whilst Mick Lynch is a good union leader in many ways he was also pro-Brexit. People seem to be unaware that the consequences of Brexit haven’t been fully implemented yet. The Tories are planning a bonfire of EU legislation and a great deal of that includes things like employee rights which we enjoy as members of the EU and aren’t covered by existing UK legislation. Plus, we’re all substantially worse off due to the Brexit he supported. He has huge gaps in his knowledge so would be a terrible PM. So, let’s just get him to stay in his lane as he does a good job.

I became a union rep this week. Mick is an inspiration to all workers, especially those of us working in the public sector. Teachers have had their pay cut by 21% since 2010. It’s a political CHOICE to suppress the workers and have their labour exploited. Enough.

Presumably the problem with this strategy is that the media will stop talking to him, because he makes them look bad. He has been doing a fantastic job of pointing out the lies (from politicians) and stupid, biased questions from the journos. I joined a union (l’m 82!) My son and his Swedish lady just visited Stockholm and an island. My son was very impressed. High taxes BUT a the elderly etc., get so much more in return. They are into waste and doing away with plastic etc., in a thoroughly modern way. Using old sheets to make shopping bags! Genius.

@@elaineedgar2913 Well, we still use an awful lot of plastics, but it's steered away from the ones that don't burn clean. Polyethene plastics only produce water vapor when incinerated. And we burn all garbage that can't be recycled, for heating and electricity generation, in the cold months. There are many of them here :). Maybe the eight months per year scarcity, and the cold, gave rise to our society? If your neighbour doesn't survive until next summer, you probably won't either.

We live in where the railway is in public ownership, and unlike the of the UK, the government government has entered entered into the talks with rail unions. I felt sorry for him when he flounced off itv. I quickly got over it however after seeing him on talk TV bullying ecclestone and trump recently. He really is a tool of the lying media, turning on people when it serves to pander to the media.
