I wrote to my local MP(a tory) I encourage you to do the same if you have a tory in power. Asking about how he could support such a ruinous leader, the twoddle he wrote gave made 5 year olds look like shakespeare. I then asked him about the disgusting new measures the Home Office and DOE were doing to squeeze more money from students. He proceeded to refer me to the DOE in which the secretary for the DOE replied with essentially "you shouldn't be worried because the proposals aren't actually applied yet". Every single tory in this government from secretaries to minister leaders are literally parrots.

There’s something seriously wrong with a country when people working full-time cannot afford even basic things such as housing and food. There’s something sinister about a government that knows this and refuses to do anything about it.
@platosbeard4449

Nothing sinister nothing unusual. That’s what capitalism does when it reaches its late stage form. For centuries, the British working class were kept comfortable through the colonial and neo-colonial period on the back of the extraction from, and misery of the periphery. As colonialism is now facing unprecedented challenges and is in full retreat, the misery has come home to roost. Now the working class must fight back and never again enter into pernicious compromises with the parasitic ruling class.

I also did not say that there was anything unusual about how wrong and sinister the situation is for working people. Well said Sir! I have never served, but I joined the armed forces pages on facebook during the last general election, fully expecting to see posts and comments about how badly the tories treat veterans and those still serving. The information isn't exactly difficult to find. Instead I found a seething mass of right wing, gullible chumps continuously making utterly stupid comments about Labour and Corbyn, and still they are much the same with regard to Starmer. I found a few decent guys there, of course - and I'm sure even the tory voting ones are probably alright people if you don't discuss politics with them, but after a while I started to notice a lot of them were pretty much repeating Daily Mail headlines, practically word for word sometimes. I left after a while, because I really want to have great respect for our armed forces personel, but I just can't find it in me to respect somebody who is calling me a 'loony leftie' and has a profile full of right wing nonsense, offensive memes about Lab / LD / SNP etc politicians and I'm afraid to say - quite a lot of nationalistic racist tripe. I came to the suspicion that when our squaddies get up in the morning there must be a large free pile of right wing tabloid rags available to them or something. I found it quite upsetting to see how our armed forces are clearly buying into every trope of Johnson's blatant attempt to stay in power by appealing to xenophobia and ignorance. So yeah, sorry about the massive message, but I was pleased to see your comment - even if it did remind me of a pretty unpleasant experience!

that Tory snake doesn't give a shit about the veterans or anything else but his own self-interests - Mick Lynch on the other hand does care.
Mrs Thatcher went to war with the Unions and was lethal. I was born in Manchester , city that made fortunes for the countries whilst workers lived in squalor The Labour movement was formed .Solidarity is a must ..Thatcher + Blair ( a vile war criminal ) never believed in talks they brought unrest and privatisation .Good to see unions in numbers not being apathetic .The public take so much granted and think only of self.. Support the unions who actually will always support you when needed .This sick government won't What would be ideal is to see joining of hands across the country .I live in Germany Strikes never last long / there are excellent communications with the work force and no 'them &. us' ..In all work places management are not like lords above . It works .Tories are just as they ever were , ruthless and only for self .

German industrial / union relationship is somewhat similar to Ireland, where Mick’s parents come from, so it’s about consensus building. Although property owners in Ireland have huge influence on state policy on land use, housing and rent rates, in the productive wealth creation sector, there is a more balanced relationship between employers and employees.

What was best about Lynch having said that, is the guy he said it to was SO triggered by the statement that he brought it up at least 2-3 times during the rest of the interview, demonstrating that it had really struck close to home. If he himself didn't believe what he was saying was 'twaddle', then it would've been like water rolling off a ducks back, but because modern journalists are egotistical script readers who are only looking for 'gotcha' moments, anyone with a lick of sense can run circles around them.

@@nigelkthomas9501 For someone who's got so much train-related content on his channel, you have a shocking lack of sympathy for the plight of people who actually OPERATE the railway system. He wasn't asking reasonable questions: he was casting aspersions and asking leading questions in order to portray the workers as the villains, instead of the private companies and government that have so far been colluding to line their own pockets and screw over the working man. Have you been paying attention at all to the questions and statements the media have made during the interviews with union officials? They all follow the same pattern.

Best line "I want a settlement but I can't do that with a backbench MP who's just learnt it off a script" 🤣
He makes me want to join a UNION. I earn less than half of the train drivers, In the University sector they've attacked our pension's and that of the lecturers and manager's, during Austerity we spent years struggling to get a 1% pay increase while the VC's continued to give themselves decent if not exorbitant pay increases with a straight face (as did politicians). Now the middle classes are going to start to feel the pain. People have to learn to stand buy each other and not just care about themselves. I'm totally behind the strikes, the rail industry should be for the people and owned by the people anyway, not just those who want Profit at any cost.
