I don't know about this mixtape. Mick Jenkins flows like a river, but sometimes he goes off the deep end, or is drowned out by the production to where his rapping is really watered down. I wouldn't wash my hands clean of him, but unless he releases a torrent of great music he's sinking in my opinion of him as a rapper.

the more I think about it, probably the reason Mick probably started the tape slow and soft then finished with an aggressive track was because in THC he states water is the most important substance, it can create or destroy so maybe the slow and steady intro tracks were like secretly the creating part of water and the end tracks were more like the destruction part of water. by the way it's just my opinion, brainstorming and interpreting it from my own perspective but yeah.

I'm not the biggest mick jenkins fan in fact this is his only project I've listened to of him but this shit was so fucking good. The waters was a great mixtape his whole theme on the album was purification of mind, body and soul

I like how Anthony explains the way the music sounds, with his descriptions of the many instruments it uses and the rhythm and etc. It gives me a good idea of what to expect when I listen to most of the albums he reviews.

Hands down, one of my favorite hip hop/rap album. 10/10

he slayed on "martyrs" and i became an instant fan. the "cherry stems" line was dope. the album is def a strong 7 though.

If the water on the cover was in a mason jar this would've gotten a 10/10. Just saying
