Michigan ran all over Washington defense
Washington did good job of moving the ball, but could not sustain a drive and convert points
Michigan had 209 yards rushing.
Credit to Washington to making adjustments to stop run and force to throw.
Big time drive towards end of 2Q and scored TD on 4th down. Gutsy call.
Two different offensive styles. Washington depends on pass and Michigan the run
2nd half:
Not ideal start for Washington. INT on first play
Michigan defense proved to be too much for Washington offense.
Made Penix uncomfortable all night and could never get comfortable
Only had one sack, but constant pressure
Credit to Washington to make it close, but couldn’t find the end zone

Michigan's defense wore down teams all year long and their offense simply took whatever the opponents gave them. If other teams tried to stop the run Michigan beat them with the pass, if they tried to stop the pass they beat them with the run, a winning combination. 😃👍
Michigan controlled the entire game. Keeping Washington to 13 points means they dominated.
Michigans offense wasn’t average. They are an elite run offense.
No time after the 1st TD did I think Mich might lose

Defense wins championships. Period. The best offense can be stopped by great defense. There’s a reason that’s what’s said.
People are so used to seeing flashbang offenses. Honestly, this was just a bad matchup for Washington. Penix was rattled the entire game. They tried to defuse Michigan's rush Defense with dip and dunk passes but Penix never got comfortable in the pocket. He hadn't faced a real defense the entire year. This was a great win not just for Michigan but for football in general. You can still win football games with good old fashion blocking and tackling.
Michigan offense avg over 30 points a game. Blake scored at the 7 minute mark of the 4th quarter thats not garbage time. 27-13, his 2nd td was at 3:37 left in the 4th quarter closed the game out. I would say that was closer to garbage time
There is no such thing as garbage time in a national championship game.

@@jamescooper3324 that's not garage time, that's garbage football. Michigan broke Washington. Squeezed the life out of them, demoralized to a point of submission. The exception being the Washington player that didn't give up pursuit when Sainristal got that late 4th QTr interception and almost took it to the house.
There is no garbage time unless its a blowout smh

Washington's offense destroyed Texas defense but got destroyed by Michigan's defense and the run game from Michigan.

And yet people think Texas is gonna beat Michigan week 2. We barely lost anyone on defense. Gonna be a rude awakening for everyone thinking Michigan will fall off
