The only thing she needs to recover from is her lies. They were all treated the same. Michelle lied about so many things and you believe them all. According to the official report they each got one meal a day and 1-2 showers per week. Michelle lied about having five unsafe abortions even a nurse debunked her claim, you cant have five unsafe abortions without being severely disabled. And she claimed she held her three month aborted fetus as if it were a fully formed fetus when at three months a fetus is the size of a peanut. And both girls claimed they never saw her pregnant even Gina who was right next to her the whole ten years and who Michelle claimed knew she was pregnant. And Michelle’s weight when she was found was in the healthy range(unlike the other women who were under eight) her weight now is severely obese which is more unhealthy. Don’t feel sorry for a liar when there are two young women who actually lost their innocence at an early age.

The abandoned and mistreated animals are voiceless and powerless. Lily was made this for 10 years. Now she has a voice and power she is rescuing animals that dont have this. Its not surprising she has gone on to do something like this. Amazing strong woman!!!

I just hope she’ll be able to see her biological son and explain everything to him. I’m glad she’s found peace and love, happily married. After that horrible decade aftermath. I’m happy she’s doing very well today living a peaceful beautiful life.

I feel sorry for her the most, out of the other two. She lost her chance to get her son back, because of Ariel. If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have never lost her son forever. It sad that she never got to united with her son or at least see him to see. Castro really ruin everything, but at least she Amanda and Gina are finally free from that monster.

i agree. she lost her baby. amanda lost her mom. knowing that she was working so hard to be a good mom, just killed me. i wish her son had reached out to her. while he doesnt do this it has to feel like she is still being blamed and punished for being kidnapped. i am glad ariel is dead. i dont wnat my taxes to pay for his food, or his anything! only courageous thing he has ever done probably. he also hurt michelle so much she cant get pregnant again...jesus! it seems that she no longer has her boyfriend as he wasnt mentioned here. :) still she seems happy. i hope she is.

Actually no even if Ariel didn’t take she wouldn’t have gotten him back because she was already late to her appointment she turned down a reliable ride from social services only to get one from her unreliable evil family, she really made it a point to be there on time. She could have taken public transport when she got cancelled on but she thought it would be smart to wonder around the town instead. And on top of that she decided to make herself even more late by stop by for puppies… come on fucking puppies. And even worst she left her child in the care of her mother knowing her mother is a piece of shit and an abusive person, she is the reason her child was endangered. She was a very irresponsible parent it’s for the best she never sees him again.

As a rescuer of animals, her heart will overflow with their unconditional love they will give her, top that with the love of humans, she will live a joyous life. ❤

I am so so happy for her. This woman deserves only the best this world has to offer.

Such a remarkable woman. Her strength and resilience is honestly remarkable. What all three of these woman suffered at the hands of that thing should not even be imaginable. How can a person be capable of such evil, I'll never know or understand.

I sincerely hope Lily has been able to at least reconcile with her son. She was kidnapped on her way to the custody hearing. Can you imagine that? Growing up thinking your mother up and abandoned you only to learn she didn't?

I watched Gina Dejesus, she said she doesn’t talk to the other two because she doesn’t want to remember what they went through. Sad😢.

I remember seeing that all over the news in 2013, I was about to graduate high school, when I saw on the news that 3 women were rescued from that horrific house. Michelle was the longest surviving victim of that horrific crime. Ariel Castro couldn’t even make it in prison after he imprisoned those 3 women for 9-11 years of torture and here that sick perverted man took the easy way out and decided to commit suicide. Those women are way stronger then that sick man. Michelle I never saw you on the news and I am so sorry for that but let me tell you something, you are a brave, beautiful, wonderful, amazing and compassionate woman that is strong and wise. Ariel Castro said all those things that your family wasn’t looking for you. We’ll look at what he did and you are way stronger then him and your stronger then now because you made it and he didn’t, you should always remember that. You are a strong and beautiful person that has a heart. Screw your family and what they did to you was wrong. I know how you feel about cutting your family out of your life. I haven’t seen my dads family in years and I don’t plan to. Remember that Michelle you are a strong woman

She knew the type of person her mother was, she knew there was drugs coming in and out of there from what she has stated in the past she grew up really fucked-up why would you ever leave your child in the care of your mother knowing she's a piece of shit? Actually think about what the fuck you're saying here. It's Michelle's own fault her kid got taken away and it's her fault her child was put in danger she endangered her child when she left him with someone like her mother. And she didn't take a ride from Social Services to her appointment and only to depend on a family that she knew was not dependable, she really made it a point to get to the appointment on time get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. I don't believe she was going to get her son she was probably selling her snatch and Castro just thought fuck this I’m gonna take her. What a bad mom hope she she never sees him again.

I wish these stories were accurate on the amount of time Michelle spent there. She was imprisoned for close to 14 years, not 11. Also, why does the news station only mention the other two girls and not Michelle? This has always bothered me. Her own mother and family never looked for her and nobody was there for her when she was rescued. Seems to me that the golden girl Amanda was the special ine, even to the media. So sad. All three were and are victims, not just Amanda and Gina. Thank God they are safe now but i hope future stories about this case will be more mindful of the fact that Michelle is just as special and important.

Can't believe this was 10 years ago. When I first heard this story, I was shocked and upset with what I heard these women went through. At that time my Aunt worked as a Rape Councilor, she told me they're these sick people who Kidnap, Rape and Threaten innocent victims every day and its up to us good Samaritans to spread the word and get these criminals off our streets! A week before the Girls escaped, I volunteered at a Charity event Walking a Mile in High Heels in my town. I feel like that walk helped give the girls the strength to escape!

Unfortunately, even as an adult now, if his adoptive parents are not supportive of a reunion (ie. And it sounded like they preferred no contact from the beginning), that may influence his decision to not reach out and remain "loyal" to the parents he knows and raised him. Sad if that's the case.
