Miracle in Cleveland: Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight found alive on Seymour Avenue
It was an ordinary Monday when the extraordinary happened.
The unthinkable happened.
A miracle happened.
As the sun soaked Seymour Avenue on that warm afternoon in Cleveland, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had their freedom.
Finally.
After a decade of torture, they escaped the clutches of Ariel Castro.
The escape
5:51 p.m. The call came in.
"Help me, I'm Amanda Berry."
It was a voice many never thought would be heard from again.
"I've been kidnapped and I've been missing for 10 years and I'm here. I'm free now."
She called 911 from a neighbor's house, pleading for police to come before "he" -- Castro -- returned.
Once police arrived, all three women were quickly taken to the hospital and out of their living hell, out of the chains they had been shackled with for years.
Seymour Avenue gushed with crowds of people who filled the neighborhood to celebrate the miracle. As cameras watched the event unfold, one man rose to fame after he claimed to be the person who helped in their escape. Charles Ramsey said he was eating McDonald's when he heard a woman -- Berry -- screaming for help.
"This girl, her scream was so loud that children stopped playing," he told WKYC's Russ Mitchell the day after. "That's what made me look outside. That's how loud her scream was."

I think it’s so amazing that Lilly rose found her passion and can connect with these animals. It’s absolutely heartbreaking that no one even reported her so I’m so glad that she has a husband as well that clearly loves and cares about her. I cannot believe it’s been 10 years already but it’s awesome seeing them doing good ❤
That bastard kept women imprisoned for 10 years and couldn’t last in prison for more than a month! 😢so sad what these women went through.

These young ladies are amazing. To have overcome all the horror, the mental abuse, the beatings the sexual assault for so many years says a lot about each one of them. I am so proud of the caring people they have become. After the hell that they went through they have chosen the path of helping others. God bless them.and keep them safe always.

Michelle Knight is such an admirable woman with a big, pure heart 💖
I feel sorry for her the most, out of the other two. She lost her chance to get her son back, because of Ariel. If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have never lost her son forever. It sad that she never got to united with her son or at least see him to see. Castro really ruin everything, but at least she Amanda and Gina are finally free from that monster.

10 years today, a man named Charles Ramsey. Saves and rescued Amanda Berry and freed Michelle and Gina, from the nightmare that they suffered 11 to 9 years. For each for victims lost their freedom from that monster. Bless that man, coming for their aid.

it is sad, but at the same time I think she was thinking about him and his wellbeing in the decision to not reunite or try to find him. He was adopted at 4 years old, while she was captive in Castros house. I’m sure she was thinking of how he’d process that & decided to not put him through that.

When Michelle was living at home her moms bf broke her babies leg so they weren’t any better off there. Things happen for a reason. That boy was put in foster care, thank God it got him away from her family. It’s very sad that she lost her son but at the time it was the best thing for that baby as painful as it was.

She knew the type of person her mother was, she knew there was drugs coming in and out of there from what she has stated in the past she grew up really fucked-up why would you ever leave your child in the care of your mother knowing she's a piece of shit? Actually think about what the fuck you're saying here. It's Michelle's own fault her kid got taken away and it's her fault her child was put in danger she endangered her child when she left him with someone like her mother. And she didn't take a ride from Social Services to her appointment and only to depend on a family that she knew was not dependable, she really made it a point to get to the appointment on time get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. To top it off while she was late to her appointment she thought it would be perfect time to stop for puppies. I don't believe she was going to get her son she was probably selling her snatch and Castro just thought f this I’m gonna take her. What a bad mom hope she she never sees him again.

Nope they are right. Michelle lied about having five unsafe abortions even a nurse debunked her claim, you cant have five unsafe abortions without being severely disabled or having proof. And she claimed she held her three month aborted fetus as if it were a fully formed fetus when at three months a fetus is the size of a peanut. And both girls claimed they never saw her pregnant even Gina who was right next to her the whole ten years and who Michelle claimed knew she was pregnant.

The police didn’t save/find anything. Those girls saved themselves after more than a decade of hell. The police deserve zero credit in this case.

Well, yes and no. It was a moment of opportunity for Amanda, and if Jocelyn didn't tell her Daddy was gone they might still be up there or worse. So, Jocelyn tells Amanda Castro's out of the house. Amanda took a few minutes to think about it because if he's actually still out there or somewhere in or around the house and he catches her trying to escape, it could all go south quickly and painfully. So she tries to get out but the door is rigged. Then Ramsey comes to help as he hears her screams for help. So great, Amanda and Jocelyn are out of the house. Now what? They just gonna go back home like nothing happened? She absolutely needed the cops and EMS right then and there.

The 911 operator,was an ass, I’m glad Amanda,stayed strong, The neighbor was the hero. I heard lily rose,was near death and close to 80 lbs,and can’t carry a baby because of what this monster did to her. I’m proud of all this women who were just girls ,when they were taken.

The monster was pure evil. He just wanted young women he could dominate, torture, rape. Like an imprisonment. My God to snap a dogs neck and killing it in front of anyone. Heartless. A sadist. Glad he's gone.

What bothers me about the rescue is that Amanda didn't even mention the ither two girls still left inside. She was abused, yes, but she was also treated better. Michelle was his first victim and nobody looked for her and she also suffered much worse than Amanda and Gina. Thank god all three are safe now but its very obvious that Michelle suffered the most

Lilly Rose, I love how well she is doing. People were very hard on her in the beginning, it infuriated me. Gina Amanda & Jocelyn I’m happy they are doing well also. Charles Ramsey the hero. ❤🙏 Did he or didn’t he self select himself from this world… I say no. These creeps are the worst of the worst. Castro was to a killer, he beat the girls when they got pregnant so they would abort the child.

Noone even reported Michelle missing,and you see the other two ladies together frequently, but never with Michele.Sad shes still be ignored

been watching much on this topic and need to ask here since this was uploaded recently. i heard michelle mention two things that feel like major gaps in this tragic story. if i'm not mistaking both were mentioned in her interview w/dr.phil briefly. one was that "the dude" had carved or written "rest in peace someonone's name" but the name was scratched out, somewhere in the basement before she was there. as well as, what was the grave he made michelle dig for? did the fbi ever dig to check? sorry if this has been answered, many of the vids are old. it made me wonder if he had a body hidden in the house from before michelle, or perhaps he had abducted a fourth and she died on the way back and was in his van dead. also, what about ashley summers, is there any solid evidence she was not abducted by this same coward?

Give missing people hope and take sometime looking at missing peoples profiles. You might just become a hero because of paying attention to an odd situation and not ignoring it.
I feel the most sorry for Michelle not only did she go through hell then these two alienated her after. That’s not right. They must have the reasons but again I feel so sorry for Michelle and all of them, but especially her as she had a really crappy life.

He was adopted to a very good family when he was 4 (2 years into Lily's captivity) She wanted him to live his life and will wait for him to come to her. She has been receiving pictures, videos, etc.. from the family without contact since her escape. He should be in his early 20s now, so I am hoping he is starting to have some contact with her... I hope she also adopts a child or is granted a miracle from the heavens with Miguel since with all the miscarriages and trauma to her body she was told by multiple doctors that she's unable to have children.
Castro gave Michelle a puppy she named Lobo not Rudolph.
