A young lass happened upon a might Scot, and being the curious lass she was, asked him what was worn under the kilt. “Nothing!” he bellowed. “It’s all in perfect working order!” Still curious, she begged a peek. He obliged. “Eww, it’s gruesome!” she exclaimed. “Look again,” he said. “It’s grew some more!”

You've been watching "Carry on up the Khyber". Actually, in recent times ( 1800s and 1900s ), kilts issued to troops were often turned into trews ( trousers ) by the soldiers themselves, as they were a lot warmer and protected their legs from thorns, etc. In the early 1800s, some Scottish regiments were taken out of the kilt, because it was a deterrent to recruitment.

In Mexico, a hotel doctor could only take cash for the ambulance fee. He took pound sterling but could only take Scottish notes at 90p to the pound sterling. Hi Jodi & Nick, I used to work in a local retail shop in the North-East of England & although they were rare, we did take Scottish pound notes, though reluctantly. Mainly because the bank branch we dealt with also seemed reluctant to accept them. This was obviously before the pound notes were replaced by coins. I`m not sure, if Scotland changed to the coins or not, you will know better than me. As it is some decades since I was there.

Having extensively travelled for work in England, I found that in virtually all uses of Scottish 10 and 20 pound notes in England there was no issues. Smaller villages and towns seemed to have more issues with these notes. Ultimately they were accepted after 'management' intervention. The only total refusal to accept aScottish 20 pound note was in Redcar coastal town when attempting to pay for Fish and Chips. The persons reason was while she recognised the money, the amount of fakes in circulation meant she would not accept it - OK she lost a sale. The strange thing was that at that time there was NO fake Scottish money in circulation, BUT there was fake English 20 pound notes in circulation causing serious problems. The Bank of England eventually had to withdraw that particular version of the English 20 pound note. I wore a full Scottish Black Watch dress kilt, including real sgian-Dubh dagger in the sock for both my daughter's weddings. A group of Japanese tourists took hundreds of photos of me and my daughter, she in her wedding dress, but mostly obviously me in dress highland attire. I think they thought we were a 'photo opportunity' rather than a father/daughter making our way to the ferry which would take us to the island wedding venue.

A man in a Kilt is a great sight, as long as his knees are not knobaly. Kilts now adays are a long load of heavy Tarten the oblong is pleated in the middle the pleats are sowen in from top to the bum then loose. The Tarten on each side the one with out buckles but one buckle at the top this one goes to your front and you use a buckle on the pleated bit to fix it to you. You have wraped the pre pleated Tarten to your back and attached the first flat but, so they fit most sizes. The front pannel is wraped around and attached with the buckles. The way to check the length is by kneeling down the Kilt should skim the ground. You put your Sporon on , my fathers Sporon was real Wild Cat (it was a diffrent time) on his wedding day he went to the florest for there we spray which went on the stunning jacket. The florest had a cat who took offence and lached its self on to his Sporon, which left the shop minus a EAR. A oman i feel. His Best Man was Catholic and in the 60's they had to pertishen for Kenny to be aloud as Best Man, he was, different World.

Neither things are Scottish, a scotch egg is likely to come from North Africa, couldn't see where the tape comes from but it not Scotland

Scotch egg is from Yorkshire but hugely influenced by Indian koftas as that time uk was invading and exploiting India

@@petesmart1983 Annette Hope speculated that they may have been influenced by Koftas but it's not proven. If there were an Indian connection that would lend weight to a UK origin in London since a foreign food like koftas would be far more likely to turn up at a major port city like London rather than in Yorkshire (which is basically the a*sehole end of nowhere).
