Yes, I know my accent is a mess. It's a blend of London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Hartlepool via my very decentralised family 🙃🙃🙃

You guys match. 😊💜 These are very entertaining. Kat I see that Jellycat banana. I like the more quirky stuff because I agree that the usuals of the popular spots, Instagram is already loaded with that. I thought the “Good morning Glasgow” guy was going to get told to F off, haha. Any interest in some kind of book vlog?

I lived in Aberdeen during my uni years. Yep very grey but I did find many shops and bars etc were very themed and colourful inside to combat it. However quite shocked that POV tiktok didn't have Cumbernauld giving its reputation XD Great video, would be good to see more of these reactions in the future.

Went to Craigmillar Castle in July. Perfect sunny day and still had almost my very own moment on one of their steps...😂 I always wonder how they managed to run up and down thoses stairs with their dresses.

If the horse has all four hooves in the air, the person was killed by someone who really hated statue makers. (According to Snopes, The Equestrian Statue Code isn't a thing, it's just folklore.)

Love your channel so much! Would you consider making some travel tips for avoiding COVID/illness while traveling internationally? My spouse and I are coming to Scotland from the US for our first international trip since the pandemic began, and am excited/nervous! We're healthcare workers who desperately need a vacation where we also don't get sick. Would appreciate any tips you may have. Thank you!

Oooh that’s an interesting topic - when is it you’re coming to Scotland? I’d say if you’re on a tram line, trams are usually a bit airier and less densely filled (the layout just feels a bit more generous to people in the seats, and the luggage racks also create a good barrier from other people) than buses. The air on buses always feel really stuffy to me so I tend to avoid them when I’m trying not to catch a bug. Most attractions are quite airy or outdoors and shopping streets are also less likely to make you end up with a bug than an indoor mall (but the city centre doesn’t have many of those anyway). Other than that not much has crossed my mind as I was thinking about your question - fingers crossed you have a wonderful holiday!

@@owl_seer4771 in that case you’ll likely greatly benefit from the super long days and just general outside seating options! It’s a lot harder during the darker months, but summer is great for just spending almost no time at all indoors 😅

Honestly, I didn't realise Simon wasn't Scottish, and I'm Scottish myself lmao. I just thought he was from Edinburgh or the borders, maybe spent some time in England, and that's why he has kind of a mixed accent. I'm from Fife and a lot of people think I'm from Edinburgh because I have a . . . milder accent. Some even ask if I'm from the US! (I watch a lot of American tv and KZread, and it seems to have sneaked into my accent. Bragging moment: bc of my Americanisation, I can easily say purple burglar alarm 😱)

Simon speaks the truth- my gran was from Aberdeen and thought Granite was grey dull depressing stone and would hate that her grandkids would install it in their kitchens and fireplaces. Really enjoyed the writer and Lass video, makes me want to make a video for the UK audiences explaining that Yanks is an out of date word that means only a small region of the states. Imagine if the USA referred to everyone in the British Isles as Geor·dies. Yanks make no sense

Maybe you should, I think that’d be fascinating! Although I do have a feeling that the term “yank” is used in a derogatory enough manner in the UK that people using it would not be excited to change their vocabulary anyway 🫠

Outside of America Yanks just mean all Americans, inside America the southerners use it towards us northerners, specifically New Yorkers.
