I recently gave my wedding dress to the specialty charity shop you mentioned in Stockbridge, it was really lovely to get the letter about them selling it and getting the Gift Aid too. I would definitely recommend Stockbridge and Bruntsfield/Morningside for the charity shops, and both areas have a nice mix of bakeries, book shops, and gift shops too, to make a day of it.

I’ve lived one year in Edinburgh, in Corstorphine, and the charity shops there were great, especially the big one by Tesco. I sure miss them, and Edinburgh as a whole.

I used to live in Edinburgh for some years, and as I am very much a whisky person I have to add "The Whisky Experience" on the Mile to the list... If you want to get educated on the uisge beatha then make your way to 28 Queen St. This is where the SMWS (scottish malt whisky society) is located. There is a bar called "the Kaleidoscope" and the staff there is super knowledgeable on all things whisky.

We´re travelling 2 weeks in August to Scotland in Aberdeenshire and I´m missing the Highland Games in Balater in your calander. We´ve planned a short visit to Edinburgh at the august 2nd when we travel from Hull to Banchory. I´m not sure that this is good idea...

Edinburgh Trams and Lothian buses are seperate businesses and probably will always be. The reason for this is the 1985 Transport act deregulating council owned transport and the fact Lothian buses is owned by 3 councils and Transport for Edinburgh, while Transport for Edinburgh has a 100% stake in Edinburgh Trams. Realistically, though TfE integrates all the ticketing there should be no overlap unless I'm missing something as you are able to buy all ticket types on buses and at the tram stop, other than single fares. The only thing I know that isn't allowed is national entitlement cards are not valid on nightbuses and only cards issued by Edinburgh Council can be used on Trams.

I am looking forward to one day at least during my visit to check out some charity shops. I am a thrifter at home and would love to see what I might find to bring back. Also, I was surprised about what you said about suitcases. I am on a couple of travel groups and they actually recommend looking for them at charity shops for a second check on. I will keep what you said in mind.

I was in Edinburgh Spring 2022 & I went to many charity shops looking for a suitcase but I only found one shop that had a small suitcase, but not at any others. I ended up buying a suitcase in Primark instead. I love the adventure of poking around charity shops. Have a wonderful trip 🙋🏼‍♀️

I know what you mean about that Save the Children looking like Urban Outfitters 😂 Also I knocked something over in there (it was totally fine!) and the staff watched me like a hawk the whole rest of the time I was there, it was a little unnerving tbh. Morningside has a bunch of decent shops too, mixed in terms of quality/price, but really handy if you want to trawl through lots of shops in one small area and definitely some gems to be found. Also wanted to say thank you so so much for all your videos, I’ve just moved to Scotland from NZ and they’ve been such a help for tips and activities plus beautifully produced and interesting 😊 watching your 48 hours in Stirling helped me decide to try and move there soon ❤

Gordon Ramsays is definitely a treat. Most people will go for the Beef Wellington. We are locals and have been once. I would probably go back every 12 months? Maybe Xmas. I think they are trying to cater to the business people rather than tourists, in my opinion
