Always thought of a fist like a spear but arrow makes so much more sense since the elbow is our spear. But the fist is weaker if used improperly and it requires a more precise movement, cool video even as it cuts off awkwardly

Hey, Michael. Sorry for communicating with you here. Don't know how else to reach you. Anyhow, considering the number of martial arts you've trained in (and the number of black belts you've obtained), I've been meaning to ask: if you were to recommend one (and only one) of the arts you've practiced, what would it be? I've been training in Muay Thai myself for almost 20 years, but it's too sport-oriented. I feel that my children might benefit from the "spiritual" (not necessarily religious) component to traditional martial arts. Thank you and all the best!

True, but professionals throw a variety of punches and not every one of them is to inflict damage on the target. Flickering jabs are for occupying and deceiving the opponent as are short punches and pawing jabs.

  • @Lucaribrix

He teaches, I listen, I get up and learn, I see and feel a huge difference in my punches already. I stopped training/fighting for a really long time and long over due. So being retrained and learning from this. I can feel the difference in the way my punch feels and the energy I give out. Now I just have to find out how to control and get my stamina back in the right shape. because even the way I'm punching feels way more correct and critical thanks to you. I also feel myself given out on just the 10th punch when I could use to dish out 100 -150 punches before feeling tired. It's about control, stamina, and giving less effort like you said before. THANKS Michael!

The thing is, yeah. I’ve seen professionals punch like that too (the arrow being swung at an opponent like a stick/baton, rather than fired from a bow.) But I’ve also seen those same punches straight up knock their opponents out because of the marksmanship and timing of them. The context of the real fights just don’t always agree with executing a picturesque, perfect punch with properly generated and hip-torqued power; so they resort to throwing the punches they can with what little openings they’re presented. That’s just my take.

I like watching these training videos. Acting on big screen is so much different than shooting selfie videos. This is real and nice to see something real and not scripted. You are an awesome martial artist. People will hate on you but you are a real martial artist first, actor second. People don’t realize this because all they know is a movie. You’re more than a movie and we are seeing this through your videos. May God bless you and your family to inspire greater things in us all.
