Thanks ! I might be getting next to next week only if I get good result in my exam, and i seriously want to replace it as my current TVs inbuilt android is very laggy and slow, youtube playback is only on 360p and android version 4.4.2 .

it is Google certified not Miracast, I think you will need google home but not sure, it will work on your tv with an HDMI CABLE

I have it and like getting the smart TV features without having to buy a new TV.

Can you watch local channels in this one?

Can I use this unit as a Bluetooth connection between TV and headphones but not for KZread, Netflix etc. just for standard TV channel which is via standard antenna connection( out of set-top box)?

Yes, you can use it with bt headphones. You can't conect standart antena chanels but you can use live tv chanel streaming via IPTV over internet 😉

It will automatically ask you to upgrade to 9.0 when you first setup the box. Or go to settings on the upper right corner

@@andrei_631 yes I'm using MI box S(MDZ-22-AB) only. It is not supporting dts-ma, 7.1 and atmos. It supports only 5.1, DD+ and dts.

It would depend on your need and budget. You can get the smart tv ao that you won’t need any android tv box. If you have a regulr tv go for the Mi box s to make it smart

im thinking w/o cable connection 4k vidz gonna be a pain in a house with shared wifi when all the kids are on streaming/gaming and such.. :/

Yes you can. You just need to set the correct display resolution once you switch the Mi Box S to another TV.

You can consider getting the Mi BoX S since it has a built in Chrome cast. Xiaomi also has just announced a new tv stick just today Mi TV Stick is a portable streaming device that turns your TV into a smart TV. Mi TVStick comes with a Chromecast built-in. With a Bluetooth remote controller.

The Mi Box S has a 3.5mm jack. If your amp connects to that then it will work.

It will still work depending on your tv resolution.

It recently upgraded from Android 8.1 to Android 9.0 & lost a lot of features the main one being a functioning Google Chromecast Ultra that came pre-installed. Support on the phone & by email is dismal at best.

When will the new mi box released? I think 2 gb ram is insufficient.

it's sufficient for what it's meant for, it's not meant for heavy gaming or heavy web surfing
