Great review!! Is the box pumping out a genuine Native 4K signal (3840x2160)? I can't tell you how many 4k projectors and 'boxes' I've read 'Support' 4k, but some are well below 720p... Thanks from England old chap ;-)

It appears to be Bluetooth. Technically you can install that app with a workaround.

Amazon does not offer Prime Video in the Google Play Store for this device. However you can sideload it, and it works well.

I really like Android TV. I have an Nvidia Shield.Apple TV has so lost its edge. I have Fire TV on my other sets but this might be the go-to replacement when it's time.

I like because have a Chromecast build in. But don't allowed to delete some apps.

How do i connect it with projector? Is is possible thru hdmi?

You can install puffin TV browser. Which also allows you to install apk files via web sites

I dont see amazon prime on there...is it possible to add it? most importantly , will it allow Regular dolby digital and DTS to bitstream or passthrough? firestick 4k ends up transcoding DD down from DD+ and it sounds really low quality..

Hi Zollo Tech does this support xiaomi mi home app

I tried to set this up, mine is stuck at Android System Update (8.1). It says this is important update and hence cannot continue unless I install it. I tried to install the update, but no luck. It is stuck at screen with continuously moving progress bar. The box is connected to internet for sure because when I pressed netflix button, it started the app and let me login. I was even able to stream content. Anyone knows what can be done? I tried contacting Xiaomi support and asked if I can sideload the update. They said, they will be sending instructions shortly, but haven't received so far.

I would say this one is better if you don't want Amazon services.

i have terrible wifi issues in this box .i have 50mbps line and cant seem to get go over 2 mbps....somehow mobile hotspot works....amazon prime does not work ...cannot see the installed apps in the app list...strange box

Shit wow, I have two Rokus and im able to watch free live TV, and online movies, and shows just like a friestick, I have the Roku Premire 4K and Roku 4

Since downloads via Puffin are no longer supported on the Mibox and since Downloader is not available on the Mibox version of the Playstore so no more apks on the Mibox I guess.

I live in Japan and a lot of devices default to Japanese (Netflix etc.) due to location. Can I set the language to English and stop it from suggesting things in Japanese?

Sideloading no web browser to visit site. its GoOgle play store is clipped and will not show any apps that can stream and at times the new sideloaded app icon will not show on the Mibox and evey time you want to watch the app you have to go where you had sideload save it to find and play the app

The Mi s 4K is one heck of a browser. It's scary.

Yes. Chromecast support is limited to specific iOS apps with built-in casting. Including Netflix, KZread, HBO, Hulu Plus, Pandora and more.

It'll work on any screen/monitor with an HDMI input. My old MiBox 3 is running on a 14 year old Sony Wega TV(that has HDMI input) at my parents.

Got a mi box today going back,Wi-Fi is bad even next to my modem outer.

What about sound and display settings? You haven't touched the surface of this device. It can do Spdif, DTS, and a host of other sound and display features and settings. This box is scary.

Yes you can.

Actually KZread doensn't use chrome cast, it allows users in the same network to send video links to play on youtube tv app. Actual chrome cast sends the whole display of the device you're using, please someone comment on the actual chromcast performance if exists.

It recently upgraded from Android 8.1 to Android 9.0 & lost a lot of features the main one being a functioning $70 Google Chromecast Ultra that came pre-installed. Support on the phone & by email is dismal at best.
