I have a 1981 MGB GT (yes you read that right, 1981, even though the factory closed in 1980!). After the factory in Abingdon CLOSED down in 1980, all the remaining MGB GT parts were shipped to British Leyland in South Africa as CKD (Completely Knocked Down), where only 200 was ever built from imported CKD kits.

I loved these old shows which were actually aimed at the DIY guy with average skills and average tools. Today, the shows involve a giant shop with every tool imaginable and the the parts that I would like to have seen, just get skipped over. I blame Mike for this. Each mechanic was more sophisticated than the last one. It's still a good show but I feel like it is aimed at the guy with deep pockets.

Yeah but the deep pocket guy generally doesn't turn wrenches. I've done the mods on my Silverado myself. There is something satisfying about doing it yourself.

Just watched the CJ7 one, so much rust even when finished, last mot's 2015 I suspect it is now rotting to death. Would be fun to see a "where are they now" wheeler dealer show?

My MGB Mk2 had wire wheels - looked great after they were blast cleaned and then metal flame sprayed with zinc - no more rust probs and shiny for a while but WW are a real pain - they need adjusting and THEY CLUNK WHEN STOPPING OR STARTING - nice alloys are much better ...

How much would it roughly cost for you to convert a Citroen nemo van to electric?

Very sloppy and amateurish, Edd. Mask off the interior completely to keep dust, especially filler dust which contains acids, out of the interior. That dash is ruined. Also, professionals weigh out their filler and hardener so you always have a consistent mix. Never fill bare metal Edd! Car needs to be primed then block sanded in order to be straight.

The early show was amateurish. That was the whole point. Flipping bangers.
