MGC FULL RESTAURATION

Stunning piece of restoration! I marvelled at the small repair scratch built panels, using paper templates etc to fashion the sections - like watching Michelangelo working in metal and in 3D! BUT personally I'd have restored the MGC to its original colour and its steel wheels as found. Why? There are enough MGCs in shiny paint and wire wheels (yes the Riviera Blue Metallic was an MG option) but to see an MGC in its as sold showroom spec etc shows I feel a lovely period purity and charm - some buyers couldn't afford wire wheels, metallic paint etc. It's original spec is all part of the cars history and soul.

Thanks for your comment. I agree with you about original spec. , but it's client's choice...

Confused. My 1969 MGC GT came with chrome wire wheels when I bought it in 1970 at the MG dealership where I worked. Mine was Mineral Blue.
Very impressive craftsmanship. Great to watch in progress.
Beautiful work.
Very inspiring. I remember seeing the bare sandblasted shell... It has come a long way since then. Congratulations on saving another MG C from being recycled!
The C GT is such an amazing car despite of its flaws which in fact could have been adressed from MG themselve. The Riviera blue metallic is just amazing and really suits this Grand Tourismo. Especially in this kind of admiring craftmanship. It is always a pleasure to watch you guys recreating these kind of artworks. Thank you and keep on going like that.
Excellent choice of color :)
WOW, great job indeed!!!👍👍👍
Not only great tool skills, but great visualization abilities to see a flat piece of metal and how to get where you want to end up. Admiration.

magnifique travail
I must say your a very fast worker when you get into your Rhythm😂😂. But seriously you are a craftsman of the highest order. How many hours roughly does it take to do a full body restoration on this car.

Wondering that too!!!
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Wow
Do you have the paint colour codes?
Full "restauration"? What did you turn it into.. a restaurant?
I thought the MGC bonnet was aluminium, is that a steel one I see there?

I was wondering the same. I have a late 1969 C and it has an all alloy bonnet
Is this car worth enough to do all that work? It seems so bad to start with, aren’t their better shells I mean?

There were only 9000 MGC’s built. Roughly split 4500 roadsters and GT’s. They are rare. They do not have the same chassis as the MGB which you can buy new shells for, but they do share many body panels. The torsion bar front suspension on the C was designed to deal with the massive GGL (Great Green Lump) engine they installed.
