There's a thing in Mexican culture that is basically summed by a saying, "andale para que se te quite" which means that you deserve the bad thing that happened to you for being a fool and not paying attention, not being more aware, not thinking of your actions and of the subsequent consequences of those actions. It's something our moms use on us growing up for when kids do stupid shit like jump off a slide or something, we're not coddled, we're made to learn that we're personally responsible for what happens to us.

I always tell people that in Mexico your safety is up to you. How very observant of you to notice that about us. I think a good balance between being careful for yourself and others taking responsibility is best. I also think it's good for people's mental health as it makes your mind active and your 5 senses always in use. In the US I regularly see people, especially younger ones, crossing the streets without looking assuming drivers are just going to stop for them.

I'm Mexican but grew up in the U.S. as a kid. I agree with his observation. I made a similar comment the other day but it was about the flash floods in Houston and how some people die in their cars. I suggested that in some cases It could've been avoided if people weren't so pampered by technology and society. Bc when they 1st stall water usually isn't that deep or the current that strong but they stay in their cars probably bc they don't want to wet their shoes. Thinking they will be pulled to safety car and all and won't have to ruin their shoes. Their focus isn't strictly on survival and it should be.

If you have been playing your guitar for a while now, you have a legitimate use for that cable. I need to be mindful of your setup because your working at earning a living. If I trip over it, I tripped over it. The wire didn't tangle my foot so I could fall. I tripped "por pend3jo." It's just another way of viewing life. ✌️😁❤️🇲🇽

It’s not hard to sue but we think it’s more of a hassle to do it. You have to miss work and even if your boss tells you it’s OK (most will say it’s not), you’re 99% not getting paid for those days. You have to pay the lawyer upfront and the lawsuit might drag for months until you get compensation for tripping where the judge will say it’s yea 5000 pesos compensation because the reason is kinda laughable , you are at minus 40,000 by that point at the minimum for lost work days and legal fees. Plus anyone in Mexico who sues for tripping on a cable and just scraped their knee or something will be looked at as a clown

You don't expect to get compensation. If it's something obviously dangerous where a person or company is responsible, yes you can sue for reparations and medical expenses (not compensation). You are a cool guy but your video points to something too obvious. Not only your comparing a rich country and a poor one (Mexico being the poor), but a Nordic (sort of) and a tropical (Mexico being the tropical), a Protestant one and a Catholic (all that is changing but still holds), one from Germanic law and one Latin (you should know who’s who and how come), one with English and German immigrates and one where Spaniards and natives mixed. Not to pay attention to all those differences is kind of weird, IMHO ✌🏽

😂 That's not a good reason to knowingly create a hazard for people. You're going to feel awful when you break some old ladies hip.

You are so wrong! Mexicans don’t complain for any kind of abuse, because is so much corruption. They think is a waste of time, they know if they sue the owner will give mordida, to the cops first, then judge. The colonial thinking prevail here from both parties, the one with money or power, n the powerless. Mexico have laws, n very similar to the US, but enforcement is the problem.

And the gross overgeneralization of American law. There are different standards for litigation in every state as well as federal laws. And lawyers take up most of the lawsuit payout anyway. The only reason to litigate is that there was negligence AND if one is seriously injured and/or to prevent the same from happening to another (holding those who do harm to others personally accountable).

In my day was over 70 years ago. It was a lot safer back then. Keep voting for Democrats who like a free for all and the cartel will be running this country. We'll be as dangerous a country as Mexico.

I am in US I am 100% Mexican and infuriates me how people cross the street in US expecting the millions of drivers to take care of the pedestrian , they don't even look ..... they would not last 30 min in Mexico City , be aware of everything is the Mexican way or you die
