Mark Vientos, Jeff McNeil and Starling Marte each clubbed home runs for the Mets but it wasn't enough as Cleveland won the slugfest 7-6. Adrian Houser started for New York and was hit hard, allowing six hits and six earned runs over five innings. Reliever Jake Diekman served up a pinch-hit two-run homer to the Guardians' David Fry that proved to be the margin of victory.

FUN FACT: If he'd had more at-bats, David Fry wouldn't be the best player nobody's talking about. Second best OPS in MLB. EASILY the highest OBP (.479) in baseball with a .338 batting average. Took him til he was 27 to reach the majors last year, but wow he's been awesome.
Pete Alonso - when he's not hitting HRs he's grounding in DPs. For a power hitter he seems to always hit into DPs. I see Vientos hit another HR, this means the Mets will send him down to minors soon to make room for retiring veterans.

Mets pitching staff leads the league in walking batters by a decent amount this year.
I’m not expecting this team to honestly go far this year we’re reloading but I love that this teams offense is WAYYYYY better then last year and the year before in my opinion.

Kwan and now Fry have absolutely taken off. Did you know Fry's .479 OBP is 50 points above anyone else? Took him til 27 to make the majors last year. He's been a beast this season.

For real. This Mets team is unbelievably terrible. No personality. No spirit. Lazy. Totally out matched. Taking nothing away from a great guardians team but the Lindor deal hasn’t worked out. He makes 40million a year? To get swept and strike out? But that smile tho…lmfao Mets baseball is an absolute JOKE. Team and organization full of chumps. And delusional fans.
