That would be pretty cool! I'll let you know one other thing that, according to other reviewers, you may have missed. The graphics weren't just fully overhauled: all graphics, textures and _models_ have been remade from the ground up, from scratch, for this remaster! Those are all brand new! If you look at it side by side, you'll see that the models for many things are vastly different. Foliage, enemies, bosses, whole structures, ice walls (with proper refraction and reflection and all)! Heck, they even keep the water ripples from the GameCube version!

@@Mike14264 I have been noticing many of those changes myself while editing, I really hope they give the same love to Echoes later down the line. Truly amazed at how much passion went into this project, brings a tear of joy. Also will probably make a poll soon to gauge interest simply since I have a few Dread videos I wanted to make before moving on to Prime/Fusion.

I still cant believe it's not a full price game. Not that I wanted to pay full price but nintendo is notorious for charging full for everything

@@phant0mdummy Was only a matter of time that nintendo would jump on the 70 dollar bandwagon after xbox announced they'd be following Sonys example tbh.The only part that's even remotely surprising is I assumed nintendo would wait for next gen to justify raising the price. In the case of prime remastered I'm fairly certain that the only reason it's a budget release is because Skyward Sword HD underperformed.It failed to sell even 4 million units which is nothing for a Zelda game.

I think Nintendo value their old games weirdly based on what console they came out. Skyward sword was a wii game which is recent enough for them to charge full price for but gamecube games (even though they are extremely close too wii games in terms of specs) are too old for nintendo to justify $60 but not old enough to put on nso so they just reserve those games for individual ports or remasters. Strange company

I really like nintendo didn't change the soundtrack and the sound efects, it was perfect back in the day and hearing the same sounds and soundtrack it's feel beatiful

​@@ultimate9056 He just means in terms of fully remastering the soundtrack rather than just upscaling the bit-rate. Personally I would have liked for them to try a remastered soundtrack with the options between it and the original kinda like what Spyro Reignited did. I say this as someone who loves the original soundtrack of course.

I wasn't too blown away early on, until I saw the rain physics on her arm canon and how if you shoot nearby walls you'll see samus' face and even see her BLINK occasionally, which is just so rad. Then once I got to magmoor and the snow area (im a noob so i dont have the name memorize but its like phendrana? Something like that), good god the gameplay got so good and I'm officially hooked.

The fact that they dropped this out of no where and its 40 bucks is crazy. i was so excited to see "available now" when watching the trailer. Havent had a chance to play because of work but cant wait to get my hansd on this.

It’s weird. In certain circumstances the morph ball animation is cut short when I’m changing out of it. I think the last time it happened to me was when I was in the Chozo Ruins in that large vertical room near one of the save rooms.

@@Hyper_Drud This is called instant unmorph. The unmorph animation places the camera behind Samus. If there is no room for the camera behind her, the game will skip the animation.

In Prime 1 you notice it the least, while in Echoes it shows up a bit more, and in Corruption it is plenty noticeable as this is the entry that it happens the most, like 25-40% of the times you go into Morph Ball mode in the game.

I really appreciate that the unscanned lore entries pop out like they did in Echoes. It’s still not quite as good as echoes, but it is much closer thanks to the upgrades.

“I know that the hardcore crowd already got their copies” yeah 5 minutes after I saw the reveal I had it downloading.

I just picked up a physical copy today at GameStop after hearing that the physical is apparently getting scalped. I own the trilogy on Wii U, but I haven't had time to play it yet, so this will be a fresh playthrough for me. I'm looking forward to it!

The only problem with the game I had is the no unlock able fusion armor. Hopefully they will add it later down the line.

I think it would be amazing if alongside reintroducing the Fusion Mode, they also brought over Dread Mode with the Dread designs for Samus.

You know a remaster of a game is good when the absolute worst thing you can say about it is that is doesn’t include the other 2 Prime Games which will probably be remastered individually as well.

Getting the physical version of the game, and it's been an agonizing wait while everyone around me has been playing it since the announcement.

I bought this Friday (I didn't get paid until last weekend so I had no money lol), and I already love the crap out of this!!!! I can't say for sure what my favorite part is because it's all amazing!!!

It's nice to still be able to speed-missile fire. I could be wrong but ghetto jumping is out the window to get some items early.

Is that another term for scan dashing? If so then yeah that was patched since any version beyond the original North American Gamecube 1.0 version. Along with the Updated Meta Ridley fight and the fixed Flaahgra theme.

Nah it uses a slope to jump and get slightly higher. A good test is the missile expansion in the half pipe in the first chozo ruins. I used to nail that 10 out of 10 with space jump but I just couldn't in this game. If feels as if some invisible barriers are in play. Also L lock jumping is gone cuz of analog triggers even while in GameCube controller mode. That's a bunmer.

@@LosN209 Ah. I looked it up earlier actually but forgot to find and edit it my reply lol. But yeah on slope jumping specifically, I do know it does still exist, however either it's less potent, or the updated geometry makes some of the skips either harder or impossible. For L jumping, I'm not entirely sure but I believe that's another thing that was fixed in anything beyond Gamecube 1.0 North American. Slope jumping may have also been nerfed beyond that version but I'm even less sure of that one lol.

Yeah. I'd say it's more of a pseudo remaster since the gameplay is pretty much identical but all the visual assets were remade from scratch. A bit like the Crash and Spyro remakes. Maybe that's why you liked it. Since most remakes anymore just remove everything that made the original so loved lol.

Didn't you notice the absence of the dynamic lighting of the laser beams? In the original the lighting of the firing is a major part of the visual character: with each shot you can easily follow the laser beam with your eyes because of the lighting of the scenery around which moves with the laser, even in daylight. With the charge beam or wave beam it's even brighter, each weapon have its lighting color. In that original method it provides a non stop dynamic firework show, and it contributes to the sensorial and claustrophobic atmosphere because each beam lighting gives proximity to the scenery, a physical presence of it, it allowes to feel the matter around us, its volume. We also can light some dark corners this way, it’s interactive. It contributes to the pleasure of shooting often in Metroid Prime, the feeling of incarnate the cybernetic bounty hunter with her crazy powers of lights. The original game was designed to emphasize that constant dynamic shooting aspect to fuel that feels experience. I understand the limitations of the new gorgeous lighting system, more static because precalculated in large part. But as a result it’s a different experience, less fun I would say.

I think it's because in the original it technically was just a multidirectional side light rather than a full lighting effect so it would be weird to use the same thing in a remaster but I understand what you mean. It actually is still there in the remaster though if you look closely. It's just way less strong and possibly it only shows up in certain rooms maybe.

4:40 the music literally IS remastered, it's resampled at a higher rate, directly from the original audio files, sampling being the audio equivalent of resolution.

Weren't they always color coded though? I thought the complaints were about supposedly the remastered ones having the wrong alpha level. Although I'm still conflicted on whether it was a mistake or intentional. Either way doesn't bother me too much. Just noticed they were different and slightly like Prime 2's doors.

I'd say the most annoying thing is the beam shooting multiple times before letting you charge, it's annoying. Other than that, I love it!

I'm telling all my friends to get that game. It's so amazing & holds up perfectly. It's a bit sad hard difficulty is hidden behind finishing the game, because the Normal difficulty is a bit too easy, even for new players.

Yeah. It was the same way in the original too. To be fair it seems to be a tradition in the Metroid series to unlock the Hard Mode after finishing the Normal Mode as I have yet to see one that has a Hard Mode and doesn't lock it until completing the main game. Personally doesn't bother me though as Metroidvanias are made to be replayable and have massive speedrun potential. The Metroid series has even rewarded speedrunning since the first game.

Bought and finished it day one, amazing.

I'm glad I get a chance to try prime again and I hope the same happens with echoes and corruption

Great thing about this remaster for me is that a while back I got Metroid prime and for some reason it wouldn't let me save my game even though I had a memory card and everything. Which made me sad, however with the remaster I will actually be able to play the game now. Also yes I am waiting for the physical release baby!!

More Metroid Prime videos is always good. 😤👌 Bought it twice and played through it twice as well. Best game is still best.

No problem bro I've more than considered tbh lately I've found myself coming back into Nintendo and I gotta say that I've never felt better and I tell you what content like this are breaths of fresh air and really show me what I've been missing with Nintendo after being absent for at least maybe 15 or so years (I'll be 33 in June for reference) with Microsoft/Xbox that I've forgotten the joy of what Nintendo brought me growing up with things like Mario, Kirby, Zelda or Metroid even lol all I can say is keep up the good work homie

Honestly though I'll take that any day over the rooms taking ages to load. To be fair the original and trilogy versions were nowhere near as bad as Prime 3's room loading. lol

First of all, thanks for watching it really does mean a lot. Well aside from the soundtrack getting remastered (with an option to swap between the new version and the classic ofc) - its something a bit hard to tell. The games are already masterpieces as is and so I'll try to keep it on the realistic side with the fact the focus is mostly on visuals and not adding new gameplay content. - Id like to see them touch up a bit more the animations in the future games like they did with Prime, the vanilla ones are amazing but I do like the small touchups to make Samus feel a bit more organic and I also hope the touch up some more of the models. -I hope they give the Annihilator Bean, Sonic Boom, Sunburst a bit extra visual kick to make them more iconic. -It also be nice if Echoes' remaster does include the multiplayer, in an ideal world have it play more like Hunter's but even if its the vanilla experience it be great. -For corruption it be neat if they gave it a dubbed version of it in Japanese, just for fun since the original is only in ENG (irc) -Most of my ideas for Corruption would better suit for a remake, but something along the lines of giving hypermode a bigger clutch so players dont spam it all the time. If they actually went ahead and had the time to make new visual content for each it be neat if they gave Echoes and Corruption a new armor for New Game Plus, like Fusion Suit was in Prime. I'd say the Zero Mission armor in Echoes since both came out the same year, and then in Corruption something closer to Dark Samus so it slowly looks like her armor by the end of the game. In a perfect world it be awesome to see some side-story content like Xenoblade did, but its clear that its not in the plans for the remaster, might be better so the team is just focused on polishing everything. Either way, sorry for the long reply, its hard to think a top of my head from changes since I think the games are perfects.

I can finally live my dream of looking forward to playing Corruption without completely annihilating my wrists.

Lets ask to Retrostudios to fix the light over de walls and surfaces when you make a shot of any beam.

It's actually still there, just way less noticable so you have to look closely. Possibly it may also only be in certain rooms but I'm not sure of that.

Right, the Fusion suit hasn't been added to the remaster. What if they added a Dread version of the Samus armor later down the line?

I kinda dig the new door designs better, feel more ethereal and less mechanical. The chozo were so advanced their technology basically trascended into magic, like the way the doors open and seem to just vanish in thin air.

In all my time as a Metroid fan, I’ve never been able to play the prime games. I never owned a game cube and I never got my hands on 3 or the trilogy for years. When I finally got my hands on trilogy the controls clashed with me so badly I couldn’t play prime and enjoy it for some reason (I managed to beat flaahgra but I gave up after that because it was just more of a struggle than fun for me). But having now bit the bullet and played the remaster I’m so glad I can say I actually enjoyed Metroid prime! I even managed 100% items and 95% logbook in my first play through.

Had my first and second playthroughs on the remaster. Might be my new favorite Metroid. Hope to see Echoes and Corruption remastered.

Something I tough is maybe they are preparing the terrain for metroid prime 4 I mean, metroid prime games are well known by metroid fans or gamecube fans, but for exemple with me whose first console was the wii, i knew theses games because of my older brother. I think they are not that popular (for my generation, and probably more for the following ones) and nintendo is remastering them so they are more known by the most people possible so the sequel can touch a larger public This is just my theorie and i like it, great job with this video like always !

Nah they've always been popular at least in the West but not so much Japan. It may have gained a lot more popularity in Japan in recent years though. To be fair I also never heard of it until the Wii where I started with Prime Trilogy. Then again I missed out on a lot of the major Gamecube games probably because I was still very young then. Ironically I started out on N64.

i haven't looked into it much myself, but i am curious. does the Phazon Suit scene bring back her iconic pose after getting it? we all know how it was removed from the Trilogy version, and there was really no reason to do so

I think it might still be gone but I'm not positive on that. I do know they added back in the arm connon affects from certain beams and the water ripples from shooting into it that were both gone in Trilogy. I think some of this was mentioned in the video though. lol

It's excellent. My only issues are the controls not being as accurate as they were on wii. And the lighting is too dark in most places

I never played the trilogy version so i didnt realize why scan dashing was gone until i saw this video.

Yesterday i found Samus return for the 3ds and gos that remake it's amazing!!! ❤w❤

The funny thing is, it's not just that the textures have been redone and stuff... From what I've seen, the graphics and models were redone _from the ground up!_ At least that's what everyone keeps saying, and that's what's, for some people at least, muddling up the lines between Remaster and Remake a little bit.

I prefer the new door style. They're easier to see, especially on the small handheld screen.

One more nitpick for you! The acquisition of the Phazon Suit cutscene from the OG version. They changed it in the Trilogy version.

The way she just kinda stands up in the alternate version isn't as cool as her surging with Phazon energy before the suit is able to channel it

Just finished it. Amazing game with great atmosphere, sound and kind of mistery in the story. Graphics are also fantastic. Overall great game!

can we talk about why the thermal visor looks extra blurry?

The thing is there's a delay or trail effect added to the warmer objects which resembles more to how thermal vision works on real life. This was probably the original intent of the creators back in the GameCube era given how realistic they wanted to make the game but the GC was a lesser powerful hardware so they probably couldn't manage the effects without slowing down the fps.

I bought it twice, and since launch, im on my fourth playthrough, let alone the 6+ times i beat it on gamecube, wii and wiiu.

Thx ill just download it and play on yuzu. I'd prefer to be able to buy a copy, but i dont own or want a switch. So if a physical copy releases i will do exactly that, and just play in 4k 60+fps with all the benefits of FSR

It pains me so much to have to wait for the physical version

I wanna play this so bad, still waiting another week and a half for the physical release in Australia. I was really hoping they'd actually improve the gameplay though - mainly the Chozo Artifact backtracking and some boss design. At least just have an option between "Original" and "Remastered" game design, y'know? Praying Prime 4 doesn't end with another boring backtracking marathon.

I'ma double dip with the physical version on release.
