Meeting the Admiral was funny at first, I actually enjoyed his shenanigans and how he voiced the dead bodies around him. But then when Artyom started playing the guitar, I started realizing how lonely this man actually was. I felt bad for him, and felt bad for leaving him. I finished the tea he gave me. Man this game is amazing.

I had your own pain for the admiral really a very sad scene when Artyom started playing the guitar I did not want to stop it anymore for me at the moment this game did not disappoint me on anything but some stupid bugs but otherwise the metro Exodus as well as 2033 last light and company will remain (at least for me) the best games I've ever played

After he fell asleep i played for a minute more then got up and shot him in the head, I felt bad for him and figured that he would die a much more painful death if I left him there. The game gave me a white flash karma notification so I don’t know if it was a bad or good choice.

They implied that he drinks radioactive tea. Whenever Artyom takes a sip the geiger counter starts to work. So I imagine that was his last sleep, so he died in a good company.

For a man who never talks, Artyom sure has fantastic character development. It’s little things like this that immersive you and give you a sense of who he is, more than words ever could.

I probably stayed 5 or so minutes after the dialogue stopped, playing the lullaby for the admiral. This was the first scene I cried at during this game. Next one is "you know what" if you've completed the game.

I wanted nothing more than to take the admiral with me. The man watched over the child’s camp defending them for years just to be forgotten. He deserved a chance

He went insane and killed his crew, and he seems to have no recollection of that, other than giving them "Super Strong Tea" that, as he put it, "changed their tune". You can also see chunks of flesh missing on the puppet corpses, so it's likely he ate parts of them.

Like what a couple others said, I found the Admiral a bit funny. Then when Artyom started playing I started feeling a bit bad for the Admiral since he’s insanely lonely and his “crew” abandoned him.

I couldn't help but relate to the admiral, as you grow up, you find that some of the friends in high school and college change, maybe you change, either way, sometimes circumstance makes people drift apart and as a result you can fell alone, alienated and unwanted just hoping to wake up and see all your comrades around you once again, but that day never comes... Then you find a new friend, online, irl, whatever it may be and you find solace and comfort, but just as the friends of old, change occurs and they then depart for better or worse. What matters is our resilience, our strength of conviction. You're not alone my brothers and sisters, many of us feel the same and one day, maybe sooner or later, we'll all find our solace and our long lost crewmate, just like the Admiral wanted.

If it was up to me, I'd have stayed for him or taken him along with us, a man with nobody is truly a lonely man with a lonely heart. The fact he calls you a bandit yet invites you to have tea, a smoke, a nice conversation. Even inviting you to stay. Not every game made me cry but seeing a man so lost in the world of woe makes you want to stay for the poor man even if he's partly insane.

This scene is so sad, yall didnt even notice the Admiral is the same character model as the boat captain from the barge in Volg

i realized how lonely and depressed the Admiral was while playing the guitar. i wish i could’ve taken him back with me, just makes me sad re-watching this.

This is the most sad part of the game.I played the game months ago but never forget this scene

you really end up feeling for him at the end...

Metro is like a syringe full of melancholy 😪

After two years left still dont forget this part.Admiral derserved better fate.......

I love this part, I found myself Crying at the end of Playing it Good Slavic Tears, but tears none the less

I never thought I would run into a character that would crack me up so much (due to him yelling at you for firing your guns) only to make me want to cry shortly afterwards

Learned this on guitar, so simple yet fun to play!

First go around I left him and got a good ending, second go around I did hardcore and not getting the good ending since I knew I wasn’t getting the good ending the second go around I ended his misery and I don’t feel bad because seeing him like that made me feel horrible since I had a grandfather just like that who would have wanted the same

poor man, his fate is very sad

Out of everyone in that game I wanted to save him the most.

I felt like, this is how the life goes on. Everybody does their best or worst, Someone gets remembered and someone gets forgotten.

i still wonder to this day if the admiral passed away in his sleep after that convo.

I wish there was an item similar to the photo for Guil or the guitar for Stepan/the teddy bear for Katya's kid, that you could get here and give to Olga, which would lead to her going back to get the Admiral before they all left the Taiga. I really don't care if he killed two of his men, almost all the other ones who left went on to become dickass pirates, and he had clearly been driven crazy from the radiation. The guitar solo made this one of the saddest things I've seen in videogames, and the Admiral's character was written very well. Even if he did something very bad, he always had the intention of defending the Taiga against the mutants.

I honestly don't even think he intended to kill them I think it was a horrible accident. I believe he knew his tea made him and them tired so he brewed it stronger hoping they'd fall asleep and he could talk them out of leaving. I believe that once he realized that they weren't waking up I believe that's when he started going insane over the guilt he felt

First of all when I realized he killed the two poor guys sitting at the table I shot him right in the head. In one way or another, we carry a piece of the pain that our beloved admiral carries. I raise a drink to the admiral!

In all honesty I thought the Admiral was going to poison me with the tea and I was hesitant to drink it. Then I started to warm up to him as he continued to talk and decided to stay till the end. When Artyom had the chance to play the guitar I thought it was going to be something cheery or with a fast musical pace, but the song was sad and it made me realize how lonely the Admiral actually was and how much he would have wanted to go back to how things used to be. Metro is such an amazing game.
