Method Feeder Vs PVA Mesh bags | Bait Test
A little bit of fun in this session seeing which is the more effective technique, a pva mesh bag and a Ronnie style carp rig or the trusty method feeder?!

I have had success with them before! I want to try and target a commercial carp over 15lb this year then over 18lb etc etc swingers are great 👍🏻
Hi ya m8 when was this video filmed as we were last Sunday, sat on peg 23 had 5 out nothing of any size but it was a struggle. Sat on the alarms with a large carp method feeder on 1 rod near the aerator and mesh bags on the other, did better on the PVA mesh bag. The smaller baits worked better ie 8mm on a spinner rig 😂. Keep up the good work m8 and looking forward to you and your dad finding us new places to fish 😉

Someone else mentioned this to me about those feeders! I have tested them in a bucket throwing them upside down the right way up etc etc and they always land face up ! I don’t think double loading matters as a lot of it comes off on contact with the water which is what I want, so that feed is falling down through the water column. Thanks for commenting buddy ! Tight lines 🎣
Nice one westy, had me thinking I was watching a blank for the first part 🤣. I'm off to wrightingtons tomorrow with a guy who got me on to your channel. Hopefully worth the hour and a bit from North Wales. Look forward to the next one!

Good I really recommend Ste ! You will like it 👌🏻🎣
Hi Westy mate, just a tip you may already know but worth a mention, when I handle carp and remove the hook after landing I run my fingers over the inside of its mouth just in case there’s a hook or broken rig inside that could cause issues for the fish in future, and then when lifting for a photo or video if the carp becomes restless just pop your thumb or finger in its mouth and it calms it down near instantly :) make sure you insert finger at the head end and not the tail end mate as the carp will stay in your swim robbing your bait waiting for another photo opportunity ;) Tight lines buddy.

Great comment, I never thought of running my finger around the carps mouth to check for other hooks ! Do you find many like that ? I did know about the thumb in the mouth trick and it definitely works your right ! 🎣🐟

@@WestysAngling Thanks for taking time to reply I appreciate how busy you are, answer to the question, yes, I have found in predominantly carp but other species too have had broken zig rigs inside their mouth, hooks and even a treble hook, but thankfully most Anglers respect the welfare of fish and understand the impact of such findings and will do their best to help the fish, I notice you use a antiseptic spray so you are a prime example of someone who loves our sport and ensuring that our younger or novice fisher folk have a responsibility to ensure the longevity of the fish we catch :) thanks for your time.

do you use the feeder rod with a mount used on other types of rods? I for one find a feeder rod too sensitive for fishing with other mounts than those designed for them. 🤔🤔🤔
