Method Feeder Fishing with SWEETCORN and BREAD | CHEAP Supermarket Baits

Спорт

Welcome to the start of a new video series! Method feeder fishing using only cheap supermarket baits, I will be reviewing/testing a different bait in each video.
There are a few reasons for the series... save people money, bring awareness back to natural baits, challenge my angling ability with something different and test out not commonly used baits.
Kicking off this series is sweetcorn, a truly unbeatable all round bait !
Grab a brew or a beer and enjoy the session! Please don't forget to like comment and subscribe!

    I know you wanted this to be a series, but IMO you aren't really testing hookbaits with fishing the method, because hookbait is largely irrelevant when fishing it. A carp is for sure not noticing the corn/wafter/tiger nut/boilie etc etc. its just homing in on the bread/groundbait and sucking the lot up. That is precisely why the method works so well, its just a big bit of attraction the same as a large pva bag etc etc.

    I think you are definitely right Kyle to a certain extent ! The fish definitely come down to the attraction of the Groundbait / bread / pellets. However I have certainly found that some hookbaits are certainly more effective than others on the method feeder, for example pink wafters usually are more effective than any other bait . So if what your saying was correct this wouldn’t be the case, therefore the hookbait has some bearing on it. If I catch on every bait I use constantly we know your theory is correct and we have still learned something from the series… don’t you think ? If nothing else people can just enjoy the sessions with a little bit of a twist 🎣👌🏻

    @@WestysAngling I agree that it must make at least a fraction of a difference, but i put that down to buoyancy/critical balancing IE the wafter is less dense than other baits and is flying into the carps mouth with less suction required. giving a cleaner hook hold and less chance of them then ejecting the rig. Im no expert carp angler tho lol, I picked up your channel from your catting videos as thats more my thing, you are likely a far better carper than me 😂

    Well done Westy at my local lake when fishing the method feeder filled with micros I tried pellet and meat as the hook bait but when I used corn my catch rate went up dramatically so I personally think that the fish hone in on the colour of the bait as well as smell thanks for the videos I think they are a good watch

    Sir, you just got yourself another subscriber with this video. Is right - fishing doesn't have to be an expensive hobby. One just needs to find the right companies to get a decent tackle at acceptable prices. Apart from the classic baits down here - in Bulgaria we also use jelly pouches with cat food that's got chunky bits in it - we take the pieces out use as a hook bait and the jelly we mix with a bit of water and flour so this doughy stuff goes on the feeder. We also use a lot of mushed up polenta it only costs a few bobs to make a couple of lbs go get you through a whole day of fishing

    The secret is in using the sweetcorn juice in the bread/groundbait. It is a super concentrated scent and carp are basically hoovers.

    Great video for the younger generation (& less experienced anglers) who are bombarded/taken in by these ‘must have new bait’ or ‘can’t fail to catch’ baits peddled by the big tackle companies! There are numerous places I fish where the good old ‘back to basics’/natural baits out fish the modern/manufactured baits. Although you’ve had great success with the pink wafters, at least you’re trying to give a fair representation on all baits at different venues. Hope your viewers soon realise that you don’t have to spend a fortune, or carry a bag full of different baits to have a good day’s fishing. 👍🏻👍🏻🎣

    I use modified bread paste. Got some white loaf fresh tost sliced (the one for toaster that isnt rock hard), soak every slice for 1-3sec in water, put it in bucket and crush it, drain exces water. After that i put handful groundbait just to control desired hardness (for lake soft, for river hard). Type of groundbait is irelevant (even cheapest is good). You can put hemp, wheat, corn, casters, choped earthworms in it or plain as is, and it will be ok on cage, method or wire round method. Simple, quick, cheap, anyone can do it. This paste can stand 3 days in bucket without problem. I leave it for 30min in (that is the time needed to wash away), so you dont need much when fishing all day 2 casts every hour. I catch carp, bream, rudd, crucian, barbel, bass, asp, chub... With it.

    I'm new to the hobby, what do you mean by drag? And why do you pull on the line before you cast? Thanks

  • @WestysAngling

    @WestysAngling

    11 ай бұрын

    If you see me pulling line out before I cast it’s so I have the right amount of line between the feeder and the rod tip before the cast. It gives better control 🎣 drag is the resistance the reel is putting on the line, a lower drag makes it easier for the fish to pull line off the reel, you need to find a balance . Too much drag the line will snap if you get a fish, too loose the fish will empty your spool or throw the hook. Hope that helps 👍🏻🎣

    Hi, Im completly new to feeder fishing( just got my 2 rods a few days ago). I got a method rig tied up and I was wondering cant I just put the bait on the hook insted of the hair? Does that make a huge difference when fishing? Anyways any help/tips would be appreciated

  • @WestysAngling

    @WestysAngling

    You can but you won’t hook as many fish ! I sometimes do it with maggots. Having the hair or the band or bait spike keeps the hook completely clear allowing maximum self hooking potential. 👌🏻🎣
